¹ Then did all Israel gather themselves together to David, unto Hebron, saying,Lo! thy bone and thy flesh, are we.

¹ Todo o Israel se reuniu com Davi em Hebron, e disse: Vê: nós somos teus ossos e tua carne.

² Moreover also, in time past even when Saul was king, thou, wast he that led out and brought in Israel,and Yahweh thy God said unto thee, Thou, shalt shepherd my people Israel, Yea, thou, shalt be chief ruler, over my people Israel.

² Já antes, quando Saul era rei, eras tu que conduzias os destinos de Israel. O Senhor, teu Deus, te disse: És tu que apascentarás Israel, meu povo, e serás tu o chefe de Israel, meu povo.

³ Thus came all the elders of Israel unto the king, to Hebron, and David solemnised to them a covenant in Hebron, before Yahweh,and they anointed David to be king over Israel, according to the word of Yahweh, through Samuel.

³ Assim todos os anciãos de Israel vieram para junto do rei em Hebron, e Davi concluiu um pacto com eles em Hebron, diante do Senhor; e eles ungiram-no rei de Israel, segundo a palavra do Senhor, pronunciada por Samuel.

⁴ Then went David and all Israel to Jerusalem, the same, was Jebus,where were the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land.

⁴ Foi Davi com todo o Israel contra Jerusalém, isto é, Jebus, onde estavam os jebuseus, habitantes da terra.

⁵ And the inhabitants of Jebus said unto David, Thou shalt not come in hither,But David captured the citadel of Zion, the same, is the city of David.

⁵ Os jebuseus disseram a Davi: Aqui tu não entrarás. Mas Davi se apoderou da fortaleza de Sião, isto é, da cidade de Davi.

⁶ And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites, first, shall become a chief, and a ruler,So then Joab son of Zeruiah, went up first, and became a chief.

⁶ O primeiro, disse ele, seja quem for, que vencer os jebuseus, tornar-se-á chefe e príncipe. O primeiro que subiu foi Joab, filho de Sarvia, e tornou-se chefe.

⁷ And David dwelt in the citadel,for this cause, did they call it, The City of David.

⁷ Davi instalou-se na fortaleza; é por isso que a chamaram cidade de Davi.

⁸ And he built the city round about, from Millo even as far as the circuit,but, Joab, suffered the remainder of the city to live.

⁸ Ele fortificou a cidade ao redor, desde Milo até seus arredores, e Joab restaurou o resto da cidade.

⁹ Thus did David wax greater and yet greater,and, Yahweh of Hosts, was with him.

⁹ Davi tornou-se cada vez maior, e o Deus dos exércitos estava com ele.

¹⁰ Now, these, are the chiefs of the heroes, that pertained to David, who held strongly with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king,according to the word of Yahweh, concerning Israel.

¹⁰ Eis os chefes dos heróis que estavam a serviço de Davi e que o ajudaram com todo o Israel a assegurar seu domínio, a fim de fazê-lo rei, segundo a palavra do Senhor, com respeito a Israel.

¹¹ And, this, is the number of the heroes who pertained to David,Jashobeam son of a Hachmonite, chief of the thirty, the same, brandished his spear over three hundredslain at one time.

¹¹ Eis o número dos heróis que estavam a serviço de Davi: Jesbaão, chefe dos trinta: ele brandiu sua lança contra trezentos homens e os abateu de uma só vez.

¹² And, after him, was Eleazar son of Dodai, the Ahohite,he, was among the three heroes;

¹² Depois deste, Eleazar, filho de Dodo, o aoíta, um dos três heróis.

¹³ he, was with David in Pas-dammim, where, the Philistines, were gathered together to battle, and there was a field-plot full of barley,and, the people, fled, from before the Philistines;

¹³ Estava ele com Davi em Fesdomim, onde os filisteus se tinham reunido para o combate. Lá havia uma terra plantada de cevada, e o exército fugia diante dos filisteus.

¹⁴ so they took their stand in the midst of the plot and rescued it, and smote the Philistines,and Yahweh wrought a great victory.

¹⁴ Eles se postaram no meio do campo, defenderam-no e destroçaram os filisteus; e o Senhor assegurou uma grande vitória.

¹⁵ And three of the thirty chiefs went down upon the rock, unto David, into the cave of Adullam,a host of Philistines, being encamped in the vale of Rephaim.

¹⁵ Três dos trinta capitães desceram à rocha, para perto de Davi, junto da caverna de Odolão, enquanto o acampamento dos filisteus estava levantado no vale dos refains.

¹⁶ Now, David, then was in the stronghold,and, a garrison of Philistines, then was in Bethlehem.

¹⁶ Ora, Davi estava na caverna e havia uma guarnição de filisteus em Belém.

¹⁷ And David longed, and saidWho will give me to drink of the water, out of the well of Bethlehem, that is within the gate?

¹⁷ Davi exprimiu um desejo: Quem me dará de beber, disse ele, da água da cisterna que está às portas de Belém?

¹⁸ And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was within the gate, and bare it, and brought it in unto David,yet would not David drink it, but poured it out unto Yahweh;

¹⁸ Os três homens atravessaram acampamento dos filisteus e tiraram água da cisterna que está à porta de Belém. Eles tomaram e a levaram a Davi, mas Davi não quis bebê-la e fez dela uma libação ao Senhor:

¹⁹ and saidFar be it from me, of my God, that I should do this! The blood of these men, shall I drink, with their lives? For, with their lives, have they brought it! So he would not drink it. These things, did the three heroes.

¹⁹ Deus me livre, disse ele, de beber semelhante coisa! Haveria eu de beber o sangue desses homens? Pois foi arriscando a própria vida que ma trouxeram. E recusou bebê-la. Eis o que fizeram esses três bravos.

²⁰ And, Abishai brother of Joabhe, was the chief of three, he, having brandished his spear against three hundredwho were slain,and so, he, had a name among three.

²⁰ Abisai, irmão de Joab, era o chefe dos três; brandiu sua lança contra trezentos homens; matou-os e adquiriu um nome entre os três.

²¹ Of the three in the second rank, was he honourable, therefore became he their captain,though, unto the three, did he not attain.

²¹ Era o mais considerado da segunda tríade e foi o seu chefe, mas não se igualou aos três primeiros;

²² Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valour, hero of many a deed, from Kabzielhe, smote the two of Ariel of Moab, he, also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit, in time of snow;

²² Banaias, filho de Jojada, homem de valor e rico em altos feitos, originário de Cabseel, foi o que venceu os dois filhos de Ariel, de Moab. Foi ele também quem desceu e matou o leão na cisterna, num dia em que nevava.

²³ he, also smote an Egyptian, a man of stature, five cubits, and, in the hand of the Egyptian, was a spear like a weavers beam, so he went down unto him with a staff,and wrested the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slew him with his spear.

²³ Foi ele ainda quem venceu um egípcio de cinco côvados de altura; esse egípcio tinha na mão uma lança semelhante a um cilindro de tear de tecelão. Foi contra ele com um bordão, arrancou-lhe a lança das mãos e o matou com a própria lança.

²⁴ These things, did Benaiah son of Jehoiada, so, he, had a name among three heroes.

²⁴ Eis o que fez Banaias, filho de Jojada, que foi célebre entre os três valentes.

²⁵ Among the thirty, lo! honourable, was he, but, unto the three, did he not attain,howbeit David set him over his council.

²⁵ Era mais considerado que os trinta; todavia não se igualou aos três. Davi o colocou à testa de sua guarda.

²⁶ Now, the heroes of the forces, were,Asahel, brother of Joab, Elhanan, son of Dodo, of Bethlehem;

²⁶ Valentes homens do exército: Asael, irmão de Joab; Elcanã, filho de Dodo, de Belém;

²⁷ Shammoth, the Harorite, Helez the Paltite;

²⁷ Samot, de Aori; Heles, de Falon:

²⁸ Ira, son of Ikkesh, the Tekoite, Abiezer, the Anathothite;

²⁸ Hira, filho de Aces, de Técua;

²⁹ Sibbecai, the Hushathite, Ilai, the Ahohite;

²⁹ Abieser, de Anatot; Sobocai, o husatita; Ilai, o aoíta; Maarai, de Netofa;

³⁰ Maharai, the Netophathite, Heled, son of Baanah, the Netophathite;

³⁰ Heled, filho de Baana, de Netofa;

³¹ Ithai, son of Ribai, of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin,Benaiah, the Pirathonite;

³¹ Etai, filho de Ribai, de Gabaa, dos filhos de Benjamim; Banaia, de Faraton;

³² Hurai, of the torrents of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite;

³⁵ Ahiam, son of Sacar, the Hararite, Eliphal, son of Ur;

³⁵ Elifal, filho de Ur; Hefer, de Mequera;

³⁶ Hepher, the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite;

³⁶ Aia, de Felon; Hesro, de Carmelo;

³⁷ Hezro, the Carmelite, Naarai, son of Ezbai;

³⁷ Naarai, filho de Asbai; Joel, irmão de Natã;

³⁸ Joel, brother of Nathan, Mibhar son of Hagri;

³⁹ Zelek, the Ammonite,Naharai, the Berothite, the armour-bearer of Joab son of Zeruiah;
