Lucas 23
The Riverside New Testament (RNT) vs BKJ
1 THEN the whole assemblage arose and led him to Pilate.
1 E, levantando-se toda a multidão deles, levaram-no a Pilatos.
2 They began accusing him, saying, "We have found this man corrupting our nation and opposing the payment of tribute to Caesar and saying that he himself is Christ a king."
2 E eles começaram a acusá-lo, dizendo: Encontramos este indivíduo pervertendo a nação, proibindo dar o tributo a César, e dizendo ser ele mesmo Cristo, um rei.
3 Pilate asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" Jesus answered him, "I am."
3 E Pilatos perguntou-lhe, dizendo: És tu o REI DOS JUDEUS? E ele, respondendo, disse-lhe: Tu o dizes.
4 Pilate said to the high priests and the crowd, "I find nothing criminal in this man."
4 Então, disse Pilatos aos principais sacerdotes e à multidão: Eu não acho culpa alguma neste homem.
5 But they were violent in saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching through the whole of Judaea. Starting in Galilee, he is now here."
5 E eles, ainda mais violentos, disseram: Ele agita o povo ensinando por toda a Judeia, começando pela Galileia até este lugar.
6 Pilate, on hearing of Galilee, asked if the man was a Galilaean,
6 Quando Pilatos ouviu falar da Galileia, ele perguntou se aquele homem era um galileu.
7 and when he learned that he was of Herod's jurisdiction he sent him to Herod, who was himself also in Jerusalem during those days.
7 E, assim que soube que ele pertencia a jurisdição de Herodes, ele enviou-o a Herodes, que também estava em Jerusalém naqueles dias.
8 Herod on seeing Jesus was much pleased because for a long time he had been anxious to see him on account of hearing about him, and he was hoping to see some miracle done by him.
8 E Herodes, quando viu a Jesus, alegrou-se muito; porque ele desejava vê-lo há muito tempo, por ter ouvido muitas coisas dele; e esperava ver algum milagre feito por ele.
9 He questioned him with many words; but Jesus gave him no answer.
9 Então, o interrogava com muitas palavras, mas ele nada lhe respondia.
10 The high priests and the scribes stood and vehemently accused him.
10 E os principais sacerdotes e os escribas estavam ali, e o acusavam com veemência.
11 Herod along with his soldiers treated him with contempt and after making sport of him and putting a gorgeous robe on him, sent him back to Pilate.
11 E Herodes, com os seus homens de guerra, desprezou-o, e, escarnecendo dele, vestiu-o de uma roupa deslumbrante, e enviou-o novamente a Pilatos.
12 So Herod and Pilate became friends with each other that day. Previously they had been at enmity.
12 E, no mesmo dia, Pilatos e Herodes se tornaram amigos; porque antes tinham uma inimizade entre eles.
13 Pilate called together the high priests and the rulers and the people
13 E Pilatos chamando os principais sacerdotes e governantes do povo,
14 and said to them, "You have brought before me this man as one who misguides the people, and yet I, in examining him before you, have found in this man not one criminal thing of all that you charge against him.
14 disse-lhes: Trouxeram-me este homem como pervertedor do povo; e eis que, examinando-o perante vós, não achei neste homem nenhuma culpa daquilo que o acusam,
15 No more has Herod; for he has sent him back to us. See, nothing deserving of death has been done by him.
15 mas nem Herodes; pois eu lho enviei novamente, por causa de vós, e nada digno de morte foi cometido por ele.
16 So I will scourge him and release him."
16 Portanto, castigá-lo-ei e o soltarei.

18 But the whole crowd cried out together, "Put him out of the way and free Barabbas for us!"
18 E gritavam todos juntos, dizendo: Fora daqui com este homem, e solta-nos Barrabás;
19 — ausente —
19 (que fora lançado na prisão por causa de uma rebelião feita na cidade, e de um assassinato).
20 Again Pilate spoke to them, wishing to release Jesus.
20 Novamente, pois, Pilatos falou, querendo soltar a Jesus.
21 But they shouted, "Crucify him, crucify him!"
21 Mas eles gritavam, dizendo: Crucifica-o! Crucifica-o!
22 For the third time he said to them, "What wrong has he done? I have found nothing criminal in him. I will therefore scourge him and let him go."
22 E ele lhes disse pela terceira vez: Por que, que mal ele fez? Não achei nele culpa de morte. Portanto, castigá-lo-ei e o soltarei.
23 But they insisted with loud voices asking to have him crucified, and their voices prevailed.
23 E eles insistiam em alta voz, requerendo para que ele pudesse ser crucificado. E as suas vozes e as dos principais sacerdotes prevaleceram.
24 So Pilate gave sentence that what they asked should be done.
24 E Pilatos deu sentença, que deveria ser como eles exigiam.
25 He freed the man who for riot and murder had been thrown into prison \'97 the man they asked for; but Jesus he handed over to their will.
25 E soltou-lhes o que fora lançado na prisão por uma rebelião e assassinato, que era o que eles desejavam; mas entregou Jesus à vontade deles.
26 As they led him away, they took hold of Simon, a Cyrenian coming from the country, and laid on him the cross to bear behind Jesus.
26 E, enquanto o conduziam, eles pegaram um certo Simão, cireneu, que vinha do campo, e colocaram nele a cruz, para que ele pudesse carregá-la após Jesus.
27 There followed him a great crowd of people and of women who were beating their breasts and bewailing him.
27 E seguia-o uma grande multidão de povo e de mulheres, que também pranteavam e lamentavam por ele.
28 Jesus turned and said to them, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; but weep for yourselves and for your children.
28 Mas Jesus, voltando-se para elas, disse: Filhas de Jerusalém, não choreis por mim; mas chorai por vós mesmas e por vossos filhos.
29 For days are coming in which they will say, 'Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed a babe!'
29 Porque eis que virão dias em que dirão: Abençoadas são as estéreis, e os ventres que nunca geraram, e os peitos que nunca amamentaram.
30 Then they will begin and say to the mountains, 'Fall on us!' and to the hills, 'Hide us!'
30 Então, eles começarão dizer para os montes: Caiam sobre nós; e aos outeiros: Cubram-nos.
31 For if they do these things in the green tree, what will happen in the dry?"
31 Pois se eles fazem estas coisas em uma árvore verde, o que se fará na seca?
32 There were also two others, criminals, led with him to be put to death.
32 E havia também outros dois, que eram malfeitores, sendo conduzidos com ele para serem mortos.
33 When they came to the place called Skull, there they crucified him and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.
33 E, quando eles chegaram ao lugar que é chamado Calvário, ali o crucificaram, e aos malfeitores, um à direita, e outro à esquerda.
34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." They divided his clothes by casting lots.
34 Então, disse Jesus: Pai, perdoa-lhes, porque eles não sabem o que fazem. E, repartindo as suas vestes, lançaram a sorte.
35 The people stood looking on. The rulers scoffed at him, saying, "He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen."
35 E o povo ficou parado e olhando, e também os governantes o ridicularizavam, dizendo: Ele salvou aos outros; salve-se a si mesmo, se é o Cristo, o escolhido de Deus.
36 The soldiers made sport of him, coming up and offering him sour wine
36 E também os soldados zombavam dele, chegando-se a ele, e oferecendo-lhe vinagre,
37 and saying, "If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!"
37 e dizendo: Se tu és o REI DOS JUDEUS, salva-te a ti mesmo.
38 There was a writing over him, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS
38 E também havia uma inscrição, escrita acima dele em letras de grego, e latim, e hebraico: Este é o REI DOS JUDEUS.
39 One of the criminals who were crucified insulted him, "Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us."
39 E um dos malfeitores que estavam pendurados, enfurecido, dizia: Se tu és o Cristo, salva-te a ti mesmo e a nós.
40 But the other rebuked him and said, "Have you no fear of God, since you are under the same sentence?
40 Mas o outro, respondendo, repreendia-o, dizendo: Tu nem mesmo temes a Deus, estando na mesma condenação?
41 And we are here justly, for we are receiving our due for our deeds. But this man has done nothing wrong."
41 Porque nós, em verdade, padecemos justamente, pois nós recebemos a devida recompensa dos nossos atos; mas este homem nada fez de errado.
42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
42 E ele disse a Jesus: Senhor, lembra-te de mim, quando tu vieres em teu reino.
43 Jesus said to him, "I tell you truly to-day you will be with me in Paradise."
43 E disse-lhe Jesus: Verdadeiramente eu te digo: Hoje tu estarás comigo no paraíso.
44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over all the land until three,
44 E era já quase à hora sexta, e houve trevas sobre toda a terra até a hora nona.
45 the sun being eclipsed. And the curtain in the Temple was torn in the middle.
45 E o sol se escureceu, e o véu do templo rasgou-se ao meio.
46 Then Jesus said in a loud voice, "Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit." After saying this, he breathed his last.
46 E Jesus gritando em alta voz, disse: Pai, nas tuas mãos eu entrego o meu espírito. E, tendo dito isso, ele rendeu o espírito.
47 When the Centurion saw what had happened, he gave glory to God, saying, "Certainly this was an upright man!"
47 Ora, quando o centurião viu o que estava feito, ele glorificou a Deus, dizendo: Certamente este era um homem justo.
48 And all the crowds that had stood by looking on the scene, after seeing what happened, turned away beating their breasts.
48 E toda a multidão que se ajuntara para observar, vendo as coisas que estavam feitas, retornavam batendo no peito.
49 All his acquaintances and the women who had followed him from Galilee were standing at a distance looking on.
49 E todos os seus conhecidos, e as mulheres que o haviam seguido desde a Galileia, estavam de longe vendo estas coisas.
50 There was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and upright man
50 E eis que havia um homem de nome José, um conselheiro, e ele era homem bom e justo;
51 who had not participated in their plan and action. He was of Arimathaea, a city of the Judaeans, and was looking for the kingdom of God.
51 (que não tinha consentido no conselho e nos atos deles), ele era de Arimateia, cidade dos judeus; e ele também esperava o reino de Deus.
52 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.
52 Este homem foi a Pilatos, e implorou pelo corpo de Jesus.
53 He took it down and wrapped it in fine linen and laid him in a tomb cut in the rock where no one was yet lying.
53 E, havendo-o tirado, envolveu-o em um pano de linho, e o deitou em um sepulcro lavrado na rocha, onde nenhum homem ainda havia sido posto.
54 It was the day of Preparation and the Sabbath was about to begin.
54 E era o dia da preparação, e ia começar o shabat.
55 The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed along and saw the tomb and how his body was laid,
55 E as mulheres que tinham vindo com ele da Galileia o seguiram também, e viram o sepulcro, e como foi posto o seu corpo.
56 and they went back and prepared perfumes and ointments. On the Sabbath they abstained from work according to the commandment.
56 E elas retornando, prepararam especiarias e unguentos; e no dia do shabat repousaram, conforme o mandamento.
