The Riverside New Testament (RNT) vs NTLH
1 SIX days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was whom he had raised from the dead.
1 Seis dias antes da Páscoa , Jesus foi ao povoado de Betânia, onde morava Lázaro, a quem ele tinha ressuscitado.
2 There they made a dinner for him. Martha waited on them, and Lazarus was one of those who reclined at table with him.
2 Prepararam ali um jantar para Jesus. Marta ajudava a servir, e Lázaro era um dos que estavam à mesa com ele.
3 Mary took a pound of pure nard perfume, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
3 Então Maria pegou um frasco cheio de um perfume muito caro, feito de nardo puro. Ela derramou o perfume nos pés de Jesus e os enxugou com os seus cabelos; e toda a casa ficou perfumada.
4 Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, the one who was going to betray him, said,
4 Mas Judas Iscariotes, o discípulo que ia trair Jesus, disse:
5 "Why was not this perfume sold for three hundred shillings and the money given to the poor?"
5 — Este perfume vale mais de trezentas moedas de prata . Por que não foi vendido, e o dinheiro, dado aos pobres?
6 He said this, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief and having the purse used to pilfer what was put into it.
6 Judas disse isso, não porque tivesse pena dos pobres, mas porque era ladrão. Ele tomava conta da bolsa de dinheiro e costumava tirar do que punham nela.
7 Jesus said, "Let her alone. It was hers to keep for the day of my preparation for the tomb.
7 Então Jesus respondeu:
8 The poor you always have with you, but me you have not.
8 Os pobres estarão sempre com vocês, mas eu não estarei sempre com vocês.
9 A great crowd of the Jews learned that he was there, and they came, not on account of Jesus alone, but also to see Lazarus whom he had raised from the dead.
9 Muitas pessoas ficaram sabendo que Jesus estava em Betânia. Então foram até lá não só por causa dele, mas também para ver Lázaro, o homem que Jesus tinha ressuscitado.
10 The high priests planned to kill Lazarus too,
10 Então os chefes dos sacerdotes resolveram matar Lázaro também;
11 because many of the Jews on account of him went and believed in Jesus.
11 pois, por causa dele, muitos judeus estavam abandonando os seus líderes e crendo em Jesus.
12 On the next day the great crowd which had come to the feast, hearing that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
12 No dia seguinte, a grande multidão que tinha ido à Festa da Páscoa ouviu dizer que Jesus estava chegando a Jerusalém.
13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, "God save him! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord \'97 the King of Israel!"
13 Então eles pegaram ramos de palmeiras e saíram para se encontrar com ele, gritando: — Que Deus abençoe aquele que vem em nome do Senhor! Que Deus abençoe o Rei de Israel!
14 Jesus, finding a young ass, sat on it, as it is written,
14 Jesus procurou um jumentinho e o montou, como dizem as Escrituras Sagradas :
15 "Fear not, daughter of Zion! Behold, your King comes, sitting on the foal of an ass!"
15 “Povo de Jerusalém, não tenha medo! Veja! Aí vem o seu Rei, montado num jumentinho!”
16 These things his disciples did not understand at first, but when Jesus had been glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written of him and had been done to him.
16 Naquela ocasião os discípulos não entenderam isso. Mas, depois de Jesus ter voltado para a presença gloriosa de Deus, eles lembraram que isso estava escrito a respeito dele e também que era isso o que tinha acontecido.
17 The people that were with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead were bearing witness to it.
17 A multidão que estava com Jesus quando ele havia chamado Lázaro para fora do túmulo e o tinha ressuscitado espalhou a notícia do que tinha acontecido.
18 For this reason the crowd went to meet him, because they had heard that he had done this sign.
18 E o povo foi encontrar-se com Jesus, pois ficou sabendo que ele tinha feito esse milagre.
19 The Pharisees said among themselves, "You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone off after him."
19 Então os fariseus disseram uns aos outros: — Não estamos conseguindo nada! Vejam! Todos estão indo com ele!
20 There were some Greeks among those who had come up to worship at the feast.
20 Entre o povo que tinha ido a Jerusalém para tomar parte na festa, estavam alguns não judeus.
21 These came to Philip of Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus."
21 Eles foram falar com Filipe, que era da cidade de Betsaida, na Galileia, e pediram: — Senhor, queremos ver Jesus.
22 Philip came and told Andrew. Andrew came with Philip and they told Jesus.
22 Filipe foi dizer isso a André, e os dois foram falar com Jesus.
23 Jesus answered them, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
23 Então ele respondeu:
24 Truly, truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies it bears much fruit.
24 Eu afirmo a vocês que isto é verdade: se um grão de trigo não for jogado na terra e não morrer, ele continuará a ser apenas um grão. Mas, se morrer, dará muito trigo.
25 He who loves his life destroys it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for life eternal.
25 Quem ama a sua vida não terá a vida verdadeira; mas quem não se apega à sua vida, neste mundo, ganhará para sempre a vida verdadeira.
26 If any one is serving me, let him follow me and where I am there my servant shall be. If any one is serving me, him my Father will honor.
26 Quem quiser me servir siga-me; e, onde eu estiver, ali também estará esse meu
27 Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour? But for this I have come to this hour.
27 Jesus continuou:
28 Father, glorify thy name!" There came a voice from heaven, "I have glorified it and will again glorify it."
28 Pai, revela a tua presença Então do céu veio uma voz, que dizia: — Eu já a revelei e a revelarei de novo.
29 The crowd that was standing there and heard said that it had thundered. Others said, "An angel spoke to him."
29 A multidão que estava ali ouviu a voz e dizia que era um trovão. Outros afirmavam que um anjo tinha falado com Jesus.
30 Jesus said, "This voice came, not on my account, but for you.
30 Mas ele disse:
31 Now is the judgment of this world. Now the Ruler of this world will be cast out.
31 Chegou a hora de este mundo ser julgado, e aquele que manda nele será expulso.
32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to me."
32 E, quando eu for levantado da terra, atrairei todas as pessoas para mim.
33 This he said indicating by what death he was to die.
33 Ele dizia isso para indicar de que maneira ia morrer.
34 The crowd answered him, "We have heard out of the Law that the Christ remains forever. How do you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?"
34 A multidão perguntou: — A nossa
35 Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, that darkness may not overtake you. He who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.
35 Jesus respondeu:
36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so as to become sons of Light." Jesus said these things and then went away and hid himself from them.
36 Enquanto vocês têm a luz, creiam na luz para que possam viver na luz. Depois que Jesus disse isso, foi embora e se escondeu do povo.
37 But, though he had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in him,
37 Eles tinham visto Jesus fazer todos esses milagres, mas não criam nele,
38 so that the word of Isaiah the prophet should be fulfilled. Isaiah said, "Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"
38 para que se cumprisse o que disse o profeta Isaías: “Senhor, quem creu na nossa mensagem? E quem viu que era o Senhor que estava agindo?”
39 For this reason they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,
39 Não podiam crer porque, como disse Isaías:
40 "He has blinded their eyes and dulled their mind so that they may not see with their eyes nor understand with their mind and repent so that I should heal them."
40 “Deus cegou os olhos deles e fechou a mente deles, para que não vejam, e não entendam, e não se voltem para ele, e sejam curados por ele.”
41 Isaiah said this because he saw his glory and he spoke of him.
41 Isaías disse isso porque viu a revelação da natureza divina de Jesus e falou a respeito dele.
42 Nevertheless, even of the rulers many did believe in him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, in order not to be expelled from the synagogue;
42 No entanto, muitos líderes judeus creram em Jesus, mas não falavam publicamente a favor dele para que os fariseus não os expulsassem da sinagoga .
43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
43 Eles gostavam mais de ser elogiados pelas pessoas do que de ser elogiados por Deus.
44 Jesus cried out, "He who believes in me does not believe in me, but in him who sent me,
44 Jesus disse bem alto:
45 and he who looks upon me looks upon him who sent me.
45 Quem me vê vê também aquele que me enviou.
46 I have come as a Light into the world that no one who believes in me may remain in darkness.
46 Eu vim ao mundo como luz para que quem crê em mim não fique na escuridão.
47 If any one hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
47 Se alguém ouvir a minha mensagem e não a praticar, eu não o julgo. Pois eu vim para salvar o mundo e não para julgá-lo.
48 He who rejects me and does not accept my words has a judge. The message that I have spoken \'97 that will judge him on the last day.
48 Quem me rejeita e não aceita a minha mensagem já tem quem vai julgá-lo. As palavras que eu tenho dito serão o juiz dessa pessoa no último dia.
49 But he who sent me \'97 the Father himself \'97 has given me a command what I am to say and what I am to speak,
49 — Eu não tenho falado em meu próprio nome, mas o Pai, que me enviou, é quem me ordena o que devo dizer e anunciar.
50 and I know that his command is life eternal. So what I am speaking I am speaking just as the Father has told me."
50 E eu sei que o seu mandamento dá a vida eterna. O que eu digo é justamente aquilo que o Pai me mandou dizer.
