¹ I BEG, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, supplications, and thanksgivings be made in behalf of all men,

³ This is excellent and pleasing in the sight of God, our Savior,

⁴ who wishes all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

⁵ For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, himself man, Christ Jesus,

⁹ Also that the women adorn themselves in becoming dress modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothes,

⁹ Da mesma forma, que as mulheres, em traje decente, se enfeitem com modéstia e bom senso, não com tranças no cabelo, ouro, pérolas ou roupas caras,

¹⁰ but \'97 as is becoming for women professing piety \'97 with good deeds.

¹⁰ porém com boas obras, como convém a mulheres que professam ser piedosas.

¹¹ A woman is to learn in all subjection.

¹¹ A mulher aprenda em silêncio, com toda a submissão.

¹² I do not permit a woman to teach or to usurp authority over a man, but she must remain silent.

¹² E não permito que a mulher ensine, nem que exerça autoridade sobre o homem; esteja, porém, em silêncio.

¹³ Adam was first formed, then Eve.

¹³ Porque primeiro foi formado Adão, depois Eva.

¹⁴ And Adam was not deceived; the woman was deceived and fell into sin.

¹⁵ But they will be saved through child-bearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with self-control.
