New Simplified Bible (NSB) vs ARA
1 It was just two days until the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread. The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might quietly capture and kill him.
1 Dali a dois dias, era a Páscoa e a Festa dos Pães Asmos; e os principais sacerdotes e os escribas procuravam como o prenderiam, à traição, e o matariam.
2 They said: »Not during the feast for it might cause the people to riot.«
2 Pois diziam: Não durante a festa, para que não haja tumulto entre o povo.
3 He was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper. While he was dining a woman with an alabaster vase filled with costly perfume, of pure nard spikenard, brake it open and poured it over his head.
3 Estando ele em Betânia, reclinado à mesa, em casa de Simão, o leproso, veio uma mulher trazendo um vaso de alabastro com preciosíssimo perfume de nardo puro; e, quebrando o alabastro, derramou o bálsamo sobre a cabeça de Jesus.
4 Some were very indignant over this. They asked, »What was the purpose of this waste of ointment?
4 Indignaram-se alguns entre si e diziam: Para que este desperdício de bálsamo?
5 »This ointment might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii. And the money could have been given to the poor. They scolded her.«
5 Porque este perfume poderia ser vendido por mais de trezentos denários e dar-se aos pobres. E murmuravam contra ela.
6 Jesus said: »Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She did a good thing to me.
6 Mas Jesus disse: Deixai-a; por que a molestais? Ela praticou boa ação para comigo.
7 »You always have the poor with you and you can do them good. You do not always have me.
7 Porque os pobres, sempre os tendes convosco e, quando quiserdes, podeis fazer-lhes bem, mas a mim nem sempre me tendes.
8 »She did what she could! She anointed my body beforehand for burying.
8 Ela fez o que pôde: antecipou-se a ungir-me para a sepultura.
9 »Truly I tell you everywhere the good news is preached through out the whole world, that which this woman has done will be spoken of for a memorial of her.«
9 Em verdade vos digo: onde for pregado em todo o mundo o evangelho, será também contado o que ela fez, para memória sua.
10 Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might betray Jesus to them.
10 E Judas Iscariotes, um dos doze, foi ter com os principais sacerdotes, para lhes entregar Jesus.
11 They were glad to hear it and promised to give him money. He looked for ways how he might conveniently deliver Jesus to them.
11 Eles, ouvindo-o, alegraram-se e lhe prometeram dinheiro; nesse meio tempo, buscava ele uma boa ocasião para o entregar.
12 Now it was the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover. His disciples said to him: »Where do you want to go to prepare to eat the Passover?«
12 E, no primeiro dia da Festa dos Pães Asmos, quando se fazia o sacrifício do cordeiro pascal, disseram-lhe seus discípulos: Onde queres que vamos fazer os preparativos para comeres a Páscoa?
13 He sent two of his disciples into the city. He said: »Meet a man bearing a pitcher of water and follow him.
13 Então, enviou dois dos seus discípulos, dizendo-lhes: Ide à cidade, e vos sairá ao encontro um homem trazendo um cântaro de água;
14 »Where he leads you say to the master of the house: The Teacher says where is my guest-chamber? Where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples?
14 segui-o e dizei ao dono da casa onde ele entrar que o Mestre pergunta: Onde é o meu aposento no qual hei de comer a Páscoa com os meus discípulos?
15 »He will show you a large upper room. It is furnished and ready. Prepare it for us.«
15 E ele vos mostrará um espaçoso cenáculo mobilado e pronto; ali fazei os preparativos.
16 The disciples went to the city and found everything as he described and they prepared for the Passover.
16 Saíram, pois, os discípulos, foram à cidade e, achando tudo como Jesus lhes tinha dito, prepararam a Páscoa.
17 When it was evening he came with the twelve.
17 Ao cair da tarde, foi com os doze.
18 While they sat and ate Jesus said: »Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me, even he that eats with me.«
18 Quando estavam à mesa e comiam, disse Jesus: Em verdade vos digo que um dentre vós, o que come comigo, me trairá.
19 They were sorrowful and said to him one by one: »Is it I?«
19 E eles começaram a entristecer-se e a dizer-lhe, um após outro: Porventura, sou eu?
20 He said to them: »It is one of the twelve, he that dips with me in the dish.
20 Respondeu-lhes: É um dos doze, o que mete comigo a mão no prato.
21 »The Son of man goes even as it is written of him. Woe to that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been better if he had not been born.«
21 Pois o Filho do Homem vai, como está escrito a seu respeito; mas ai daquele por intermédio de quem o Filho do Homem está sendo traído! Melhor lhe fora não haver nascido!
22 While they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it, he gave the broken bread to them, and said: »Take it, this means represents my body.«
22 E, enquanto comiam, tomou Jesus um pão e, abençoando-o, o partiu e lhes deu, dizendo: Tomai, isto é o meu corpo.
23 He took a cup, and when he had given praise, he gave it to them and they all had a drink from it.
23 A seguir, tomou Jesus um cálice e, tendo dado graças, o deu aos seus discípulos; e todos beberam dele.
24 He said: »This means represents my blood of the covenant given for men.
24 Então, lhes disse: Isto é o meu sangue, o sangue da [nova] aliança, derramado em favor de muitos.
25 »Truly I say to you, I will take no more of the fruit of the vine till the day when I take it new in the kingdom of God.«
25 Em verdade vos digo que jamais beberei do fruto da videira, até àquele dia em que o hei de beber, novo, no reino de Deus.
26 After a song of praise to God they went to the Mount of Olives.
26 Tendo cantado um hino, saíram para o monte das Oliveiras.
27 Jesus told them: »You would all be turned away from me. It is written, I will put the keeper of the sheep to death, and the sheep will be put to flight.
27 Então, lhes disse Jesus: Todos vós vos escandalizareis, porque está escrito:
28 »After I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.«
28 Mas, depois da minha ressurreição, irei adiante de vós para a Galileia.
29 Peter declared to him: »Even though all shall leave you I will not.«
29 Disse-lhe Pedro: Ainda que todos se escandalizem, eu, jamais!
30 Jesus said to Peter: »I tell you that before the rooster crows twice tonight, you will say three times that you do not know me.«
30 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Em verdade te digo que hoje, nesta noite, antes que duas vezes cante o galo, tu me negarás três vezes.
31 Peter answered even more strongly: »I will never say that, even if I have to die with you!« All the other disciples said the same thing.
31 Mas ele insistia com mais veemência: Ainda que me seja necessário morrer contigo, de nenhum modo te negarei. Assim disseram todos.
32 They came to a place called Gethsemane. He said to his disciples: »Sit here while I pray.«
32 Então, foram a um lugar chamado Getsêmani; ali chegados, disse Jesus a seus discípulos: Assentai-vos aqui, enquanto eu vou orar.
33 He took Peter, James and John with him. He was very distressed and troubled.
33 E, levando consigo a Pedro, Tiago e João, começou a sentir-se tomado de pavor e de angústia.
34 He said to them: »I am very sorrowful to the point of death. Stay here with me and watch.«
34 E lhes disse: A minha alma está profundamente triste até à morte; ficai aqui e vigiai.
35 He went forward a little ways and fell on the ground to pray. He prayed that if it were possible the hour might pass from him.
35 E, adiantando-se um pouco, prostrou-se em terra; e orava para que, se possível, lhe fosse poupada aquela hora.
36 He said: »Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Take this cup from me. Even so not what I will, but what you will.«
36 E dizia: Aba, Pai, tudo te é possível; passa de mim este cálice; contudo, não seja o que eu quero, e sim o que tu queres.
37 He returned to find them sleeping. He said to Peter, »Simon why do you sleep? Could you not watch for one hour?
37 Voltando, achou-os dormindo; e disse a Pedro: Simão, tu dormes? Não pudeste vigiar nem uma hora?
38 »To avoid temptation watch and pray. The spirit truly is willing but the flesh is weak.«
38 Vigiai e orai, para que não entreis em tentação; o espírito, na verdade, está pronto, mas a carne é fraca.
39 Again he went away and prayed, and spoke the same words.
39 Retirando-se de novo, orou repetindo as mesmas palavras.
40 He came and found them asleep again. They did not know what to say to him.
40 Voltando, achou-os outra vez dormindo, porque os seus olhos estavam pesados; e não sabiam o que lhe responder.
41 He came a third time and said to them: »Sleep and take your rest. It is enough the hour has come. Look, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners!
41 E veio pela terceira vez e disse-lhes: Ainda dormis e repousais! Basta! Chegou a hora; o Filho do Homem está sendo entregue nas mãos dos pecadores.
42 »Rise up and let us go. He that betrays me is near.«
42 Levantai-vos, vamos! Eis que o traidor se aproxima.
43 Suddenly, as he spoke, Judas one of the twelve arrived. A great crowd with swords and spears were with him. They were from the chief priests, scribes and elders.
43 E logo, falava ele ainda, quando chegou Judas, um dos doze, e com ele, vinda da parte dos principais sacerdotes, escribas e anciãos, uma turba com espadas e porretes.
44 He who betrayed him gave them a sign. He told them the one I kiss is the one to capture and take away safely.
44 Ora, o traidor tinha-lhes dado esta senha: Aquele a quem eu beijar, é esse; prendei-o e levai-o com segurança.
45 When he arrived he went straight to him and said: »Master« and kissed him.
45 E, logo que chegou, aproximando-se, disse-lhe: Mestre! E o beijou.
46 They grabbed him and took him away.
46 Então, lhe deitaram as mãos e o prenderam.
47 One of those who were near took out his sword and gave the servant of the high priest a blow, cutting off his ear.
47 Nisto, um dos circunstantes, sacando da espada, feriu o servo do sumo sacerdote e cortou-lhe a orelha.
48 Jesus said: »Have you come out as against a thief with swords and sticks to take me?
48 Disse-lhes Jesus: Saístes com espadas e porretes para prender-me, como a um salteador?
49 »I was with you every day in the Temple teaching and you did not take me. This is done so that the scriptures will be fulfilled.«
49 Todos os dias eu estava convosco no templo, ensinando, e não me prendestes; contudo, é para que se cumpram as Escrituras.
50 They all left him, and fled.
50 Então, deixando-o, todos fugiram.
51 A young man followed him. He was wearing a linen cloth over his naked body. They tried to grab him.
51 Seguia-o um jovem, coberto unicamente com um lençol, e lançaram-lhe a mão.
52 But they got a hold of the linen cloth and he fled naked.
52 Mas ele, largando o lençol, fugiu desnudo.
53 They led Jesus away to the high priest. The chief priests, elders and scribes came together with him.
53 E levaram Jesus ao sumo sacerdote, e reuniram-se todos os principais sacerdotes, os anciãos e os escribas.
54 Peter followed him at a distance. He followed into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers staying warm by the fire.
54 Pedro seguira-o de longe até ao interior do pátio do sumo sacerdote e estava assentado entre os serventuários, aquentando-se ao fogo.
55 Now the chief priests and the whole council looked for witness against Jesus to put him to death. They found none.
55 E os principais sacerdotes e todo o Sinédrio procuravam algum testemunho contra Jesus para o condenar à morte e não achavam.
56 Many gave false witness against him. But their witness was not in agreement.
56 Pois muitos testemunhavam falsamente contra Jesus, mas os depoimentos não eram coerentes.
57 One person falsely witnessed against him by saying:
57 E, levantando-se alguns, testificavam falsamente, dizendo:
58 »We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.«
58 Nós o ouvimos declarar: Eu destruirei este santuário edificado por mãos humanas e, em três dias, construirei outro, não por mãos humanas.
59 Even so their witness did not agree.
59 Nem assim o testemunho deles era coerente.
60 The high priest stood in the middle of them, and said to Jesus: »Do you not answer? What is it these say against you?«
60 Levantando-se o sumo sacerdote, no meio, perguntou a Jesus: Nada respondes ao que estes depõem contra ti?
61 But he kept quiet and said nothing. Again the high priest questioned him: »Are you the Christ, the son of the Holy One?«
61 Ele, porém, guardou silêncio e nada respondeu. Tornou a interrogá-lo o sumo sacerdote e lhe disse: És tu o Cristo, o Filho do Deus Bendito?
62 Jesus said: »I am and you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.«
62 Jesus respondeu: Eu sou, e vereis o Filho do Homem assentado à direita do Todo-Poderoso e vindo com as nuvens do céu.
63 Violently parting his robes, the high priest said: »What need do we have for more witnesses?«
63 Então, o sumo sacerdote rasgou as suas vestes e disse: Que mais necessidade temos de testemunhas?
64 We have heard his words against God. What is your opinion? They all said he should be put to death.
64 Ouvistes a blasfêmia; que vos parece? E todos o julgaram réu de morte.
65 Some spit on him and covering his face they gave him blows. Guess who hit you, they said. The leaders took him and beat him with their hands.
65 Puseram-se alguns a cuspir nele, a cobrir-lhe o rosto, a dar-lhe murros e a dizer-lhe: Profetiza! E os guardas o tomaram a bofetadas.
66 Peter was still in the courtyard when one of the High Priests servant women came by.
66 Estando Pedro embaixo no pátio, veio uma das criadas do sumo sacerdote
67 When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said: »You were with Jesus of Nazareth.«
67 e, vendo a Pedro, que se aquentava, fixou-o e disse: Tu também estavas com Jesus, o Nazareno.
68 He denied it. »I do not know and I do not understand what you are talking about,« he answered. He went out into the passageway.
68 Mas ele o negou, dizendo: Não o conheço, nem compreendo o que dizes. E saiu para o alpendre. [E o galo cantou.]
69 The servant woman saw him there and told bystanders, »He is one of them!«
69 E a criada, vendo-o, tornou a dizer aos circunstantes: Este é um deles.
70 Peter denied it again. Later the bystanders accused Peter again saying: »You cannot deny that you are one of them, because you, too, are from Galilee.«
70 Mas ele outra vez o negou. E, pouco depois, os que ali estavam disseram a Pedro: Verdadeiramente, és um deles, porque também tu és galileu.
71 Then Peter said: »I swear I am telling the truth! May God punish me if I lie! I do not know the man you are talking about!«
71 Ele, porém, começou a praguejar e a jurar: Não conheço esse homem de quem falais!
72 Then a rooster crowed. Peter remembered what Jesus said: »Before the rooster crows two times, you will deny me three times.« He broke down and cried.
72 E logo cantou o galo pela segunda vez. Então, Pedro se lembrou da palavra que Jesus lhe dissera: Antes que duas vezes cante o galo, tu me negarás três vezes. E, caindo em si, desatou a chorar.
