1 Some people from Ziph went to Gibeah to talk with Saul, they said: »David has a hideout on Mount Hachilah near Jeshimon out in the desert.«
1 Alguns moradores de Zife foram a Gibeá e contaram a Saul que Davi estava escondido no monte Haquila, em frente de Jesimom.
2 Saul went to the desert of Ziph. He took three thousand of Israels best-trained men to search for David.
2 Então Saul partiu imediatamente para o deserto de Zife com três mil dos melhores soldados de Israel a fim de procurar Davi.
3 Saul camped by the road at the hill of Hachilah near Jeshimon. David camped in the desert. He discovered that Saul come to the desert after him.
3 Eles acamparam no monte Haquila, em frente de Jesimom. Davi estava no deserto e ouviu dizer que Saul tinha vindo atrás dele.
4 David sent spies to confirm Sauls arrival.
4 Aí enviou alguns espiões e ficou sabendo que Saul, de fato, estava ali.
5 Then David went to the place where Saul camped. David saw the place where Saul and Ners son Abner, the commander of the army, were lying. Saul was lying in the camp. The troops were camped around him.
5 Imediatamente foi até lá e encontrou o lugar onde dormiam Saul e Abner, filho de Ner, comandante do seu exército. Saul dormia dentro do acampamento, e os seus soldados acampavam em volta dele.
6 David asked Ahimelech the Hittite, and Abishai the brother of Joab: »Who will go to Sauls camp with me?« »I will,« Abishai answered.
6 Então Davi perguntou ao heteu Aimeleque e a Abisai, cuja mãe era Zeruia e cujo irmão era Joabe: — Quem de vocês vai comigo ao acampamento de Saul? — Eu vou! — respondeu Abisai.
7 David and Abishai entered Sauls camp at night. They found Saul sleeping in the center of the camp. His spear was stuck in the ground near his head. Abner and the troops were sleeping around him.
7 Assim, naquela noite, Davi e Abisai entraram no acampamento de Saul. E o encontraram dormindo no centro do acampamento, com a sua lança fincada no chão, perto da sua cabeça. Abner e os soldados dormiam em volta de Saul.
8 Abishai said to David: »God put your enemy in your power tonight. Let me plunge his own spear through him and pin him to the ground. I will do it with just one blow. I will not have to strike twice!«
8 Então Abisai disse a Davi: — Esta noite Deus colocou o seu inimigo nas suas mãos. Agora deixe que eu atravesse Saul com a lança dele e o espete no chão com um só golpe. Não precisarei dar dois golpes!
9 But David said: »Do not harm him! Jehovah will certainly punish whoever harms his chosen king.«
9 Mas Davi respondeu: — Não o mate, pois o
10 »By the living God Jehovah,« David declared, »I know that Jehovah will kill Saul, either when his time comes to die a natural death or when he dies in battle.
10 Tão certo como o Senhor Deus está vivo, assim ele mesmo matará Saul, seja quando chegar o seu dia de morrer, seja numa batalha!
11 »Jehovah forbid that I should try to harm the one Jehovah anointed to be king. Just take his spear and his water jar and go.«
11 O Senhor me livre de levantar a mão contra quem ele escolheu como rei! Vamos pegar o jarro de água e a lança dele e vamos embora.
12 David took the spear and the water jar from beside Sauls head. Then he and Abishai left. No one saw it or knew what happened. No one woke up. They were all sound asleep, because Jehovah sent a heavy sleep on them all.
12 Então Davi pegou a lança e o jarro de água que estavam ao lado da cabeça de Saul e foi embora com Abisai. Ninguém os viu, nem soube o que havia acontecido. E ninguém acordou. Todos estavam dormindo profundamente porque o Senhor tinha feito com que todos eles caíssem num sono profundo.
13 Then David crossed over to the other side of the valley. He went to the top of the hill a great distance away.
13 Aí Davi passou para o outro lado do vale, foi até o alto do monte, a uma boa distância deles,
14 David shouted to Sauls troops and to Abner: »Abner! Can you hear me?« »Who is calling to the king?« Abner asked.
14 e gritou para Abner e para os soldados de Saul: — Abner, você está me ouvindo? — Quem é que está gritando para o rei? — perguntou Abner.
15 David answered, »Abner, are you the greatest man in Israel? Why are you not protecting your master, the king? Someone entered the camp to kill your master.
15 Davi respondeu: — Você é homem ou não é? Você não é o melhor soldado de Israel? Então por que não protegeu o seu chefe, o rei? Agora mesmo alguém entrou no acampamento para matar o rei, o seu chefe.
16 »You failed in your duty, Abner! I swear by the living God Jehovah all of you deserve to die. You have not protected your master, whom Jehovah made king. Look for the kings spear? Where is the water jar that was near his head?«
16 Você falhou, Abner! Eu juro pelo Senhor , o Deus vivo, que vocês todos morrerão, pois não protegeram o seu chefe, que o Senhor Deus fez rei. Escutem! Onde está a lança do rei? Onde está o jarro de água que estava ao lado da cabeça dele?
17 Saul recognized Davids voice and said: »Is that your voice my son David?« And David said: »It is my voice, my lord the king.
17 Saul reconheceu a voz de Davi e perguntou: — Davi, é você, meu filho? — Sim, senhor! — respondeu Davi.
18 He also said: »Why are you my lord pursuing your servant? What have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?
18 — Por que é que o senhor continua a perseguir este seu criado? O que foi que eu fiz? Qual foi o crime que cometi?
19 »Please let my lord the king listen to the words of his servant. If Jehovah has stirred you up against me, let Him accept an offering. If it is men, cursed are they before Jehovah. They have driven me out today so that I would have no attachment with the inheritance of Jehovah, saying: Go serve other gods.«
19 Ó rei, escute o que eu tenho a dizer. Se foi Deus que fez o senhor se virar contra mim, ele mudará de ideia se lhe for feita uma oferta. Mas, se foram certas pessoas que fizeram isso, que a maldição de Deus caia sobre elas! Pois me expulsaram da terra do Senhor Deus para uma terra onde posso adorar somente deuses estrangeiros.
20 »Do not let my blood fall to the ground far from the presence of Jehovah. The king of Israel comes to search for a flea. Yet he hunts me down like a partridge on the mountains.«
20 Não me deixe ser morto em terra estrangeira, longe do Senhor Deus! Por que o rei de Israel viria aqui? Para procurar uma pulga como eu? Por que me caçaria como se eu fosse um pássaro selvagem?
21 »My servant David,« Saul said, »I have sinned. Come back. I will not harm you again. You valued my life today. I have acted like a fool. I made a terrible mistake.«
21 Saul respondeu: — Eu errei. Volte, meu filho Davi! Nunca mais eu lhe farei nenhum mal, pois esta noite você respeitou a minha vida. Tenho sido um louco e cometi um grande erro!
22 David answered: »Here is the kings spear. Have one of your soldiers come and get it.«
22 Então Davi disse: — Aqui está a sua lança, senhor. Que um dos seus homens venha buscá-la!
23 »Jehovah put you in my power today. But you are his chosen king. I would not harm you. Jehovah rewards the righteous and faithful.
23 O Senhor Deus recompensa aqueles que são fiéis e corretos. Hoje ele colocou o senhor nas minhas mãos, mas eu não levantei a mão para matar aquele que Deus escolheu como rei.
24 »I valued and saved your life today. I pray that you will value and save my life and that Jehovah will deliver me out of tribulation.«
24 Assim como eu hoje respeitei a sua vida, que o Senhor faça o mesmo comigo e me livre de todas as dificuldades!
25 Saul said: »David, my son, I pray that Jehovah will bless you and make you successful!« Saul went back home. David also left.
25 E Saul respondeu a Davi: — Deus o abençoe, meu filho! Tudo o que você fizer dará certo! Então Davi foi embora, e Saul voltou para casa.
