1 Pe shɨnɨɨsho, tʉlonje tʉtɨ bhʉlɨ kʉ zya yise wɨɨtʉ uAbulahaamu? Ʉweene ázimanyile bhʉlɨɨbhʉlɨ ziniizi ɨzya kwɨtɨshɨlwa uwugolosu?
1 Do ponto de vista humano, Abraão foi o fundador de nossa nação. O que descobriu ele?
2 Ɨnga uAbulahaamu ábhaziiwe uwugolosu pamiiso ga Mʉlʉngʉ kʉ mbombo zyakwe inyinza, áamɨle nɨ lya kʉyɨbaadɨla. Ɨleelo atákhondeeye kʉyɨbaada pamiiso ga Mʉlʉngʉ,

3 Pois as Escrituras dizem: “Abraão creu em Deus, e assim foi considerado justo”.

4 O salário daquele que trabalha não é um presente, mas um direito.

5 Contudo, ninguém é considerado justo com base em seu trabalho, mas sim por meio de sua fé em Deus, que declara justos os pecadores.

6 Davi também falou a esse respeito quando descreveu a felicidade daqueles que são considerados justos sem terem trabalhado para isso:

7 “Como são felizes aqueles cuja desobediência é perdoada, cujos pecados são cobertos!
8 Asayiilwe umuntu we ʉMwene ʉMʉlʉngʉ
8 Sim, como são felizes aqueles cujo pecado o Senhor não leva mais em conta!”.
9 Bhʉlɨ, ɨnsayo yɨnɨɨyo ya bhaala bheene bhe Bhayahuudi, awe ya peeka na bhaala bhe te Bhayahuudi? Mʉkʉmbʉshe she uWusimbe uWufinjile wʉkʉtɨ, “UAbulahaamu ámwitishile ʉMʉlʉngʉ, woope ʉMʉlʉngʉ akhamʉbhaazya kʉtɨ mugolosu.”
9 Por acaso essa bênção é apenas para os judeus, ou se estende também aos gentios incircuncidados? Já dissemos que Deus considerou Abraão justo por meio de sua fé.
10 UAbulahaamu ábhaziiwe kʉtɨ mugolosu khabhalɨlo khalikwi? Akhabhalɨlo khe atáhiliiwe awe we áshɨɨlɨ kutahiiliwa? Ábhaziiwe we ashɨɨlɨ kutahiiliwa.
10 Mas como isso aconteceu? Ele foi considerado justo somente depois de ter sido circuncidado, ou antes disso? Está claro que foi antes de ele ser circuncidado.
11 Pɨlongolela, uAbulahaamu akhatahiiliwa. Kwɨ dala lɨnɨɨlyo uAbulahaamu akhabha wu yise wa bhonti bhe bhakwɨtɨkha, poope she bhatatahiliiwe, ɨnga bhoope bhabhaazɨwe uwugolosu.
11 A circuncisão era um sinal de que Abraão já possuía fé e de que Deus já o havia declarado justo, mesmo antes de ele ser circuncidado. Portanto, Abraão é o pai daqueles que têm fé mas não foram circuncidados. Eles são considerados justos por causa de sua fé.
12 Khabhɨlɨ ʉweene wu yise wa bhaala bhe bhatahiliiwe, ɨleelo te kʉnongwa ye bhatahiliiwe, lyoli kʉnongwa ye bhakʉlandata ɨdala liliila ɨlya lwɨtɨkho ʉlwa yise wɨɨtʉ uAbulahaamu lwe áyitishile we ashɨɨlɨ kutahiiliwa.
12 E Abraão também é o pai daqueles que foram circuncidados, mas somente se tiverem o mesmo tipo de fé que Abraão tinha antes de ser circuncidado.
13 ɄMʉlʉngʉ ámulajile uAbulahaamu na bhantʉ abha shipaafi shaakwe kʉtɨ, akhayɨɨbhapa ɨnsɨ zyonti zɨbhe wugaali waabho. ɄMʉlʉngʉ atábhiishile ʉmʉlajɨ wʉnʉʉwo kwa Abulahaamu kʉnongwa ye átinishile ɨndajɨzyo, lyoli kʉnongwa ye áyitishile. Pe ʉMʉlʉngʉ akhamʉbhaazya uAbulahaamu kʉtɨ mugolosu.
13 A promessa de que Abraão e seus descendentes herdariam toda a terra não se baseou em sua obediência à lei de Deus, mas sim no fato de ele ter sido considerado justo quando teve fé.
14 Pe shɨnɨɨsho, ɨnga bhe bhakutinikha ɨndajɨzyo bhe bhagaali, ʉlwɨtɨkho lʉtalɨ nu wukabhi. Khabhɨlɨ ʉmʉlajɨ wa Mʉlʉngʉ wʉtakhondeeye ngakheeka,
14 Portanto, se a herança prometida é apenas para aqueles que obedecem à lei, a fé é desnecessária, e a promessa, anulada.

16 É por isso que a promessa vem pela fé, para que ela seja segundo a graça e, assim, alcance toda a descendência de Abraão, não somente os que vivem sob a lei, mas todos que têm fé como a que teve Abraão. Pois ele é o pai de todos que creem.
17 Ɨnongwa ziniizi ʉMʉlʉngʉ álonjile mu Wusimbe uWufinjile kʉtɨ, “Inkubhiishile ʉbhe we yise wa bhantʉ abhɨ nsɨ inyinji.” Pe we uAbulahaamu alɨ pamiiso ga Mʉlʉngʉ, akhɨmvwa ɨnongwa ziniizi zye ʉMʉlʉngʉ ámulajile. 17 Conforme aparece nas Escrituras: “Eu o fiz pai de muitas nações”. Isso aconteceu porque Abraão creu no Deus que traz os mortos de volta à vida e cria coisas novas do nada.
18 We ʉMʉlʉngʉ amʉbhʉʉzya uAbulahaamu amazwi ganaago, yáamɨle pagomu kʉgɨɨtɨkha. Ɨleelo peeka na lɨnɨɨlyo, akhajendeelela kwɨtɨkha na kʉsʉʉbhɨla kʉtɨ ʉMʉlʉngʉ atɨbhombe anza she álonjile. Pe akhabha wu yise wa bhantʉ abhɨ nsɨ inyinji, anza she ʉMʉlʉngʉ ámubhuziizye kʉtɨ, “Abhantʉ abha shipaafi shaakho bhakhayɨbha bhinji anzɨ nzota.”
18 Mesmo quando não havia motivo para ter esperança, Abraão a manteve, crendo que se tornaria o pai de muitas nações. Pois Deus lhe tinha dito: “Esse é o número de descendentes que você terá!”.
19 UAbulahaamu we akʉposheela intumi zɨnɨɨzyo pamu áamɨle na manha imia yeeka (100). Ámanyile kʉtɨ ʉmʉbhɨlɨ waakwe wáamɨle ngatɨ wufuuye, khabhɨlɨ woope ʉmʉshɨ waakwe ʉSaala áamɨle mʉlʉʉjɨ. Ɨleelo peeka na lɨnɨɨlyo ʉlwɨtɨkho lwakwe lʉtáamɨle ɨtende.
19 E sua fé não se enfraqueceu, embora ele soubesse que, aos cem anos, seu corpo, bem como o ventre de Sara, já não tinham vigor.
20 Khabhɨlɨ atáamɨle nʉ mwoyo ʉwa kusingaana kʉ zya mʉlajɨ we ápewiilwe nʉ Mʉlʉngʉ. Lyoli akhajina kʉmwɨtɨkha, akhaamupa uwumwamu,
20 Em nenhum momento a fé de Abraão na promessa de Deus vacilou. Na verdade, ela se fortaleceu e, com isso, ele deu glória a Deus.
21 kʉnongwa ye ámanyile kʉtɨ nalyoli ʉMʉlʉngʉ angakhola kʉbhomba ziila zye álajile.
21 Abraão estava plenamente convicto de que Deus é poderoso para cumprir tudo que promete.
22 Kʉnongwa yɨnɨɨyo, uWusimbe uWufinjile wʉkʉtɨ, ʉMʉlʉngʉ akhamʉbhaazya kʉtɨ mugolosu.
22 Por isso, por sua fé, ele foi considerado justo.
23 Ɨleelo amazwi ganaaga ge gakʉtɨ, “ɄMʉlʉngʉ ámubhaziizye kʉtɨ mugolosu,” gatásimbiilwe kʉ zya Abulahaamu wʉʉyo mwene,
23 E, quando Deus considerou Abraão justo, não o fez apenas para benefício dele. As Escrituras dizem
24 lyoli gásimbiilwe kʉnongwa yɨɨtʉ nɨɨtwe bhʉʉlo, twe ʉMʉlʉngʉ akhayɨtʉbhaazya kʉtɨ twe bhagolosu, ɨnga twamwɨtɨkha ʉweene we ámuzyusiizye ʉMwene wɨɨtʉ uYeesu, kufuma kʉ bhafwe.
24 que foi também para nosso benefício, pois elas garantem que também seremos considerados justos por crermos naquele que ressuscitou dos mortos a Jesus, nosso Senhor.
25 ɄMʉlʉngʉ ámufumwizye uYeesu kʉtɨ afwe kʉnongwa iyi mbiibhi zyɨtʉ, khabhɨlɨ akhamʉzyʉsya ɨnga ɨtwe tʉbhaazɨwe uwugolosu.
25 Ele foi entregue à morte por causa de nossos pecados e foi ressuscitado para que fôssemos declarados justos diante de Deus.
