2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;

3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;

4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 Ukhalhawaya Malhove Matakatifu aneera,
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Ahiyeke uwonya, apangeke moombone,
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Ukhalhawaya miitho a Athithi anaaweha
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Mpani nohalha uupangelhani ichimwa mwavarecheshaka nrima wo upanga chittu choombone?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Nansho ata mwatwarushiyaka wo nlhatu no upanga chittu chinothanana awe Nlhuku, nhoreeriya. Nhimwoove ntu riyoothe mena nhikelhiye nipampa,
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 nansho munthimicheke Kuristo, mmamirimani mwinyu ukhalha phi Athithi mahuku onkhaye. Mwiicheesheke tayari umwaakhulha kila ntu nohalha uukohani makhulhuvelho arii mmamirimani mwinyu,
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Ukhalhawaya iri nambaya uttwaruwa wo nlhatu no upanga moombone, Nlhuku attunaka, kuliko uttwaruwa wo upanga chittu cho uhilhoka.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Ukhalhawaya Kuristo ni uyo ahokhwa nkwaha mmoka tu wo nlhatu wo uhilhoka wa attu onkhaye. Ntu oombone ahaakhwelha attu o uwonya wiira aarweehe wa Nlhuku. Eeviye iruttu nansho nkaakhalha nkumi wo wooria wo Iphumu ya Nlhuku,

21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.

22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
