1 I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys.
1 Sou uma flor de Sarom, um lírio dos vales.
2 Like the lily among the thorns, so is my beloved among the young maidens.
2 Como um lírio entre os espinhos é a minha amada entre as jovens.
3 Like the appletree among the trees of the forest, so is my friend among the young men: under his shadow do I ardently wish to sit, and his fruit is sweet to my palate.
3 Como uma macieira entre as árvores da floresta é o meu amado entre os jovens. Tenho prazer em sentar-me à sua sombra; o seu fruto é doce ao meu paladar.
4 He brought me to the banquetinghouse, and his banner over me was love.
4 Ele me levou ao salão de banquetes, e o seu estandarte sobre mim é o amor.
5 Strengthen me with flagons of wine, refresh me with apples; for sick of love am I.
5 Por favor, sustentem-me com passas, revigorem-me com maçãs, pois estou doente de amor.
6 Oh that his left hand might be under my head, and that his right might embrace me.
6 O seu braço esquerdo esteja debaixo da minha cabeça, e o seu braço direito me abrace.
7 I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye awaken not, nor excite my love, till it please to come of itself.
7 Mulheres de Jerusalém, eu as faço jurar pelas gazelas e pelas corças do campo: não despertem nem provoquem o amor enquanto ele não o quiser.
8 The voice of my friend! behold, there he cometh, leaping over the mountains, skipping over the hills.
8 Escutem! É o meu amado! Vejam! Aí vem ele, saltando pelos montes, pulando sobre as colinas.
9 My friend is like a roebuck or the fawn of the hinds: behold, there he standeth behind our wall, looking in at the windows, seeing through the lattice.
9 O meu amado é como uma gazela, como um cervo novo. Vejam! Lá está ele atrás do nosso muro, observando pelas janelas, espiando pelas grades.
10 My friend commenced, and said unto me, Rise thee up, my beloved, my fair one, and come along.
10 O meu amado falou e me disse: Levante-se, minha querida, minha bela, e venha comigo.
11 For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone its way.
11 Veja! O inverno passou; as chuvas acabaram e já se foram.
12 The flowers are seen in the land; the time of the birds singing is come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land;
12 Aparecem flores sobre a terra, e chegou o tempo de cantar; já se ouve em nossa terra o arrulhar dos pombos.
13 The figtree perfumeth its green figs, and the vines with young grapes give forth a pleasant smell. Arise thee, my beloved, my fair one, and come along.
13 A figueira produz os primeiros frutos; as vinhas florescem e espalham sua fragrância. Levante-se, venha, minha querida; minha bela, venha comigo.
14 O my dove, who art in the clefts of the rock, in the recesses of the cliffs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for thy voice is sweet, and thy countenance is comely.
14 Minha pomba que está nas fendas da rocha, nos esconderijos, nas encostas dos montes, mostre-me o seu rosto, deixe-me ouvir a sua voz; pois a sua voz é suave, e o seu rosto é lindo.
15 Seize for us the foxes, the little foxes, that injure the vineyards; for our vineyards have young grapes.
15 Apanhem para nós as raposas, as raposinhas que estragam as vinhas, pois as nossas vinhas estão floridas.
16 My friend is mine, and I am histhat feedeth among the lilies.
16 O meu amado é meu, e eu sou dele; ele pastoreia entre os lírios.
17 Until the day become cool, and the shadows flee away, turn about, my friend, and be thou like the roebuck or the fawn of the hinds upon the mountains of separation.
17 Volte, amado meu, antes que rompa o dia e fujam as sombras, e seja como a gazela ou como o cervo novo nas colinas escarpadas.
