1 And these are the last words of David. Thus saith David the son of Jesse, and thus saith the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet singer of Israel:
1 Ora, estas são as últimas palavras de Davi. Davi, o filho de Jessé, disse; e o homem que foi exaltado às alturas, o ungido do Deus de Jacó, e o doce salmista de Israel, disse:
2 The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me, and his word was upon my tongue.
2 O Espírito do SENHOR falou por mim, e a sua palavra estava na minha língua.
3 Thus said the God of Israel, concerning me spoke the Rock of Israel, That I should be ruler over men, be righteous, ruling in the fear of God;
3 O Deus de Israel disse, a Rocha de Israel falou comigo: Aquele que rege sobre os homens precisa ser justo, regendo no temor de Deus.
4 And as in the light of morning the sun riseth, in a morning without clouds, with more than the brightness reflected by rain on the herbs that spring from the earth.
4 E ele será como a luz da manhã, quando o sol se levanta, uma manhã sem nuvens; como a relva tenra que brota da terra através do brilho claro depois da chuva.
5 Truly is not so my house with God? since he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, firm in all, and sure? yea, will he not cause to grow all my salvation, and all my desire?
5 Embora a minha casa não esteja assim com Deus; ele fez comigo um pacto eterno, ordenado em todas as coisas, e seguro; pois esta é toda a minha salvação, e todo o meu desejo, mesmo que ele não o faça crescer.
6 But the godless are all of them as waving thorns, which cannot be taken in the hand;
6 Porém, todos os filhos de Belial serão como espinhos lançados fora, porque não podem ser pegos com mãos;
7 But the man that will touch them must protect his hand with iron and the staff of a spear: and they will be utterly burnt with fire in the dwelling.
7 mas o homem que neles tocar deve estar cercado com ferro e com haste de uma lança; e eles serão completamente queimados com fogo no mesmo lugar.
8 These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Yosheb–bashebeth, the Thachkemonite, the chief among the captains,––the same as ‘Adino the ‘Eznite,––because of eight hundred slain at one time.
8 Estes são os nomes dos homens valentes que Davi tinha: O taquemonita que se assentava no assento, chefe entre os capitães; o mesmo era Adino, o eznita; ele levantou a sua lança contra oitocentos, os quais matou de uma única vez.
9 And after him was El’azar the son of Dodo, the son of Achochi, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel had withdrawn themselves;
9 E depois dele vinha Eleazar, o filho de Dodô, o aoíta, um dos três valentes com Davi, quando eles desafiaram os filisteus que estavam lá reunidos para a batalha, e os homens de Israel fugiram;
10 He then arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand did cleave unto the sword: and the Lord wrought a great victory on that day; and the people returned after him only to strip the slain.
10 ele se levantou, e feriu os filisteus até que a sua mão ficou exausta, e a sua mão ficou presa à espada; e o SENHOR operou uma grande vitória naquele dia; e o povo retornou depois dele somente para despojar.
11 And after him was Shammah the son of Age the Hararite. The Philistines were gathered together into a troop, and there was a piece of ground full of lentiles; and the people had fled from the Philistines;
11 E, depois dele vinha Samá, o filho de Agé, o haratita. E os filisteus estavam reunidos em tropa, onde havia um pedaço de terra cheio de lentilhas; e o povo fugiu dos filisteus.
12 But he placed himself in the midst of the ground, and delivered it, and smote the Philistines: and the Lord wrought a great victory.
12 Ele, porém, pôs-se de pé no meio do terreno, e o defendeu, e matou os filisteus; e o SENHOR operou uma grande vitória.
13 And these three, the chiefs of the thirty, went down, and came to David at harvest–time unto the cave of ‘Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
13 E três dos trinta chefes desceram, e vieram até Davi na época da colheita à caverna de Adulão; e a tropa dos filisteus acampou no vale de Refaim.
14 And David was then in the strong–hold, and an outpost of the Philistines was then in Beth–lechem.
14 E Davi estava, então, em uma fortaleza, e a guarnição dos filisteus estava, naquele tempo, em Belém.
15 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would bring me water to drink out of the well at Beth–lechem, which is by the gate!
15 E Davi ansiava, e disse: Ah, se alguém me desse de beber das águas do poço de Belém, que fica junto ao portão!
16 And the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines; and drew water out of the well of Beth–lechem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; but he would not drink thereof, and poured it out unto the Lord.
16 E os três homens valentes irromperam pelo exército dos filisteus, e retiraram água do poço de Belém, que ficava junto ao portão, e a tomaram e trouxeram até Davi; todavia ele não quis beber dela, mas derramou-a ao SENHOR.
17 And he said, Far be it from me, O Lord, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went at the risk of their life? and thus he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
17 E ele disse: Esteja longe de mim, ó SENHOR, que eu faça isto; não é este o sangue dos homens que foram arriscar as suas vidas? Por isto ele não quis bebê-la. Estas coisas fizeram estes três homens valentes.
18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruyah, was the chief of these three; and he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain, and had a name among the three.
18 E Abisai, o irmão de Joabe, o filho de Zeruia, era chefe entre os três. E ele levantou a sua lança contra trezentos, e os matou, e teve o nome entre os três.
19 Although he was the most honored of the three, wherefore he became their captain: he nevertheless attained not unto the three in prowess.
19 Não foi ele o mais honorável dos três? Portanto, ele era o capitão deles; todavia não alcançou os três primeiros.
20 And Benayahu the son of Yehoyada’, the son of a valiant man, great in many acts of Kabzeel; he it was that smote the two lion–like heroes of Moab; he also went down and slew a lion in the midst of a pit on a day when it snowed;
20 E Benaia, o filho de Joiada, o filho de um homem valente, de Cabzeel, que havia feito muitos atos, ele matou dois homens de Moabe semelhantes a leões; também desceu e matou um leão no meio de uma cova, no tempo da neve.
21 And he slew an Egyptian, a man of good appearance; and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and he snatched the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
21 E ele matou um egípcio, um homem formoso; e o egípcio tinha uma lança em sua mão; mas ele desceu até ele com uma vara, e arrancou a lança da mão do egípcio, e o matou com a sua própria lança.
22 These things did Benayahu the son of Yehoyada’, and he had a name among the three mighty men.
22 Estas coisas fez Benaia, o filho de Joiada, e teve o nome entre os três homens valentes.
23 He was more honored than the thirty; but he attained not to these three. And David appointed him in his private council.
23 Ele foi mais honorável do que os trinta, mas não alcançou os três primeiros. E Davi o pôs sobre a sua guarda.
24 ‘Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elchanan the son of Dodo of Beth–lechem,
24 Asael, o irmão de Joabe, era um dos trinta; Elanã, o filho de Dodô de Belém;
25 Shammah the Charodite, Elika the Charodite,
25 Samá, o harodita, Elica, o harodita;
26 Chelez the Paltite, ‘Ira the son of ‘Ikkesh the Teko’ite,
26 Heles, o paltita; Ira, filho de Iques, o tecoíta;
27 Abi’ezer the ‘Anethothite, Mebunnai the Chushathite,
27 Abiezer, o anatotita; Mebunai, o husatita;
28 Zalmon the Achochite, Maharai the Netophathite,
28 Zalmom, o aoíta; Maarai, o netofatita;
29 Cheleb the son of Ba’anah, the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gib’ah of the children of Benjamin,
29 Helebe, o filho de Baana, o netofatita; Itai, o filho de Ribai, de Gibeá, dos filhos de Benjamim;
30 Benayahu the Pir’athonite, Hiddai of Nachale–Ga’ash,
30 Benaia, o piratonita; Hidai, dos ribeiros de Gaás;
31 Abi–’albon the ‘Arbathite, ‘Azmaveth the Barchumite,
31 Abi-Albom, o arbatita; Azmavete, o barumita;
32 Elyachba the Sha’albonite, Bne–yashen, Jonathan,
32 Eliaba, o saalbonita, dos filhos de Jasém, Jônatas;
33 Shammah the Hararite, Achiam the son of Sharar the Ararite,
33 Samá, o hararita; Aião, filho de Sarar, o ararita;
34 Eliphelet the son of Achasbai, the son of the Ma’achathite, Eli’am the son of Achithophel the Gilonite,
34 Elifelete, o filho de Aasbai, filho do maacatita; Eliã, o filho de Aitofel, o gilonita;
35 Chezrai, the Carmelite, Pa’arai the Arbite,
35 Hezrai, o carmelita; Paarai, o arbita;
36 Yigal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
36 Igal, o filho de Natã, de Zobá; Bani, o gadita;
37 Zelek the ‘Ammonite, Nacharai the Beerothite, the armor–bearer of Joab the son of Zeruyah,
37 Zeleque, o amonita; Naarai, o beerotita, o escudeiro de Joabe, o filho de Zeruia;
38 ‘Ira the Yithrite, Gareb the Yithrite,
38 Ira, um jetrita; Garebe, um jetrita;
39 Uriyah the Hittite: in all thirty and seven.
39 Urias, o heteu: trinta e sete ao todo.
