¹ David also divided off with the chiefs of the host for the service of the sons of Assaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, those who uttered praise accompanied with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and their number was of the men that did the work in their service.

¹ Depois, Davi e os comandantes do exército nomearam homens das famílias de Asafe, Hemã e Jedutum para profetizar, com o acompanhamento de liras, harpas e címbalos. Esta é a lista de seus nomes e de suas responsabilidades:

² Of the sons of Assaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethanyah, and Asharelah, the sons of Assaph under the supervision of Assaph, who uttered praise under the supervision of the king.

² Dos filhos de Asafe: Zacur, José, Netanias e Asarela. Trabalhavam sob a direção de seu pai, Asafe, que profetizava por ordem do rei.

³ Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedalyahu, and Zeri, and Jeshayahu, Chashahyahu, and Matthithyahu, six, under the supervision of their father Jeduthun, who uttered praise with a harp, in order to give thanks and to utter praise unto the Lord.

³ Dos filhos de Jedutum: Gedalias, Zeri, Jesaías, Simei, Hasabias e Matitias, seis ao todo. Trabalhavam sob a direção de seu pai, Jedutum, que profetizava com o acompanhamento da lira, dando graças e louvando o S enhor .

⁴ Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiyahu, Matthanyahu, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Chananyah, Chanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Machazoth;

⁴ Dos filhos de Hemã: Buquias, Matanias, Uziel, Subael, Jerimote, Hananias, Hanani, Eliata, Gidalti, Romanti-Ézer, Josbecasa, Maloti, Hotir e Maaziote.

⁵ All these sons of Heman the kings seer in the words of God, were to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

⁵ Todos eram filhos de Hemã, vidente do rei, pois Deus lhe tinha dado o privilégio de ter catorze filhos e filhas, de acordo com sua promessa.

⁶ All these were under the supervision of their father at the singing in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, under the supervision of the king, Assaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

⁶ Todos esses homens estavam sob a direção de seus pais e serviam como músicos na casa do S enhor . Eram responsáveis por tocar címbalos, harpas e liras na casa de Deus. Asafe, Jedutum e Hemã se reportavam diretamente ao rei.

⁷ And their number, with their brethren that were practised in singing unto the Lord, even all that were acquainted therewith, was two hundred eighty and eight.

⁸ And they cast lots, division against division, the small well as the great, the one acquainted with his business together with the scholar.

⁹ And there came forth the first lot for Assaph for Joseph; Gedalyahu was the second, he with his brethren and sons, being twelve:

¹⁰ The third was Zaccur, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

¹¹ The fourth was for Yizri, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

¹¹ a quarta, para Zeri e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

¹² The fifth was Nethanyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

¹² a quinta, para Netanias e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

¹³ The sixth was Bukkiyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

¹³ a sexta, para Buquias e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

¹⁴ The seventh was Jessarelah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

¹⁴ a sétima, para Asarela e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

¹⁵ The eighth was Jeshayahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

¹⁵ a oitava, para Jesaías e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

¹⁶ The ninth was Matthanyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

¹⁶ a nona, para Matanias e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

¹⁷ The tenth was Shimi, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

¹⁷ a décima, para Simei e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

¹⁸ The eleventh was Asarel, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

¹⁸ a décima primeira, para Uziel e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

¹⁹ The twelfth was for Chashahyah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

¹⁹ a décima segunda, para Hasabias e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

²⁰ The thirteenth was Shuhael, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

²⁰ a décima terceira, para Subael e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

²¹ The fourteenth was Matthithyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

²¹ a décima quarta, para Matitias e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

²² The fifteenth was for Jeremoth, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

²³ The sixteenth was for Chananyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

²³ a décima sexta, para Hananias e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

²⁴ The seventeenth was for Joshbekashah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

²⁴ a décima sétima, para Josbecasa e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

²⁵ The eighteenth was for Chanani, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

²⁵ a décima oitava, para Hanani e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

²⁶ The nineteenth was for Mallothi, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

²⁶ a décima nona, para Maloti e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

²⁷ The twentieth was for Eliyathah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

²⁷ a vigésima, para Eliata e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

²⁸ The one and twentieth was for Hothir, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

²⁸ a vigésima primeira, para Hotir e doze de seus filhos e parentes;

²⁹ The two and twentieth was for Giddalthi, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

³⁰ The three and twentieth was for Machasioth, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

³¹ The four and twentieth was for Romamthieser, his sons and his brethren, being twelve.
