1 Ma ɗete, wunɛ tîki kwalɔ ɓeya yasi hɛnɛ, kwalɔ seɓila ɓomɔ nɛ̀ kwalɔ mɛkele mɛ likisi hɛnɛ. Wunɛ tîki sendi nyaŋgwɛ temɔ nɛ̀ kwalɔ kutuna ɓɛsɔ hɛnɛ.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Wunɛ wôku yɛsiɗyɛ kimɔ pupuna mɔrɔku mɛ ɓɛri nda mbɔŋgɔ ɓɔnɔsikɛ. Mɔrɔku mɛ ɓɛri mɛte, yo mɛlɛpi mɛ Njambiyɛ. Wunɛ wôku yɛsiɗyɛ te ɗete, nɛ́ wunɛ ɗɔku ɗɔkɔ kɛ nje Njambiyɛ kumɔ kɛ ŋgimɔ te yi nyɛ ta siɗyɛ nɛ joŋgwa yun kɛ́,
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 kɛto wunɛ sima duwɛ nde, Nyaŋgwɛ Kumande nɛ ŋgikwa.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Wunɛ njâki kɛ kɛki nɛ, nyɛ tari te yi nyɛ ɓomɔ joŋgwɛ. Ma ɓomɔ sɛŋma tari te. Yasi wɛtɛ, Njambiyɛ kpalma nje tɔkɛ nyɛ nde, nyɛ kpasa tari kɛ misi mɛnɛ.
4 — ausente —
5 Wunɛ sendi, wunɛ kɛ nje kɛ yi Njambiyɛ nda kpasa joŋjoŋgwɛ mɛtari. Wunɛ tîki nde, Njambiyɛ ɓôŋ wunɛ yí sumɔ nɛ tu̧ ɗyenɛ komɛ Sisiŋ nɛ ta ɗiyɔ kɛ́. Ɗete, a ta tɛmbiɗye wunɛ, njɔŋ ɓotu ɓe nyɛna sadaka te ɓenɛ, nɛ́ wunɛ nyɛ nyɛ mɛsadaka mɛte yi Kimɔ Sisiŋ ta teɗye wunɛ kɛ́. Njambiyɛ kɛ jayɛ mɛsadaka mɛte yite nɛ mɛsosa nɛ nje Yesus Krist.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Yo nde, yo kɛtinate kɛ mɛkana mɛ Njambiyɛ nde: ‹Nɛ ɓɛ̂ŋa, mi sawma kpasa Tari*f1* yi saŋgwɛ kondu tɛmbiɗye kɛ *Siyɔŋ. Mɔ te ɛ tikɛ temɔ kɛ yi tari te, a tí saŋgwa nɛ njɔn na.›
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Ma kɛ ɓɛ wunɛ, wunɛ ɓotu ɓete ɓe tikɛ temɔ kɛ yi tari te ɓaka, yo kpasa yasi kɛ yun. Yasi wɛtɛ, kɛ yi ɓotu ɓete ɓe yeti kɛ tikɔ temɔ kɛ yi tari te ɓaka, yo yeti ɗete na. Yo nde, yo sendi kɛtinate womaŋa kɛ mɛkana mɛ Njambiyɛ nde: ‹Tari te yi ɓotu ɓe sumna njumɔ sɛŋma kɔ kpalma nje ɓɛ saŋgwɛ kondu.›
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Sendi nde: ‹Yo tari te yi ɓomɔ ɓomiyɛ ɓaki kɛte, mbatɔ te yi ɓaɗyɛ ɓomɔ.› Ɓo kɛ ɓomiyɛ ɓaki kɛte, kɛto ɓo yeti kɛ kwaɗyɛ kelɔ yasi te yi mɛlɛpi mɛ Njambiyɛ lɛpɛ kɛ́ na. Yo ma ɓɛ ndi kɛ yan nde, ɓo ta ɓomiyɛ ɓaki ɗete.
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Ma kɛ ɓɛ wunɛ, wunɛ mbo ɓotu ɓete ɓe Njambiyɛ tɔkuma, njɔŋ ɓotu ɓe nyɛna sadaka te ɓe kelɛ mɛsay nyɛ Kumande. Wunɛ njɔŋ ɓotu ɓete ɓe Njambiyɛ tɔkuma nde, ɓo ndi ɓenɛ yí kelɔ mɛsay nyɛ nyɛ. Wunɛ sendi kandɔ ɓotu ɓete ɓe wokuna ndi nɛ nyɛ nyɛpɔ. A tɔkuma wunɛ ɗete, nɛ́ wunɛ lɛpi nyaŋgwɛ kimɔ mɛkele mɛnɛ nyɛ ɓomɔ. Yo nyɛ jeɓa wunɛ soŋɛ kɛ mɔy yitil njesɛ kɛ kpasa mɛjasi mɛnɛ.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Wunɛ njɔŋ, wunɛ sɔŋ temɔ mbɛ, wunɛ ɓejɛŋgwɛ, ɓeakwaŋkwaŋgɔ kɛ mɛnɛti maka. Ɗete, mi kɛ kombile lɛpɔ nyɛ wunɛ nde, wunɛ tîki ɓeya mɛwoɓɔ mɛte yi ɗiyɛ kɛ yotu yun yí lu̧ ɗyambi nɛ mɛtakɛ mɛ temɔ yun kɛ́.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Komɛ wunɛ joŋna ndana kɛ njoka mɛkandɔ mɛ ɓotu ɓete ɓe yeti kɛ duwɛ Njambiyɛ ɓaka, wunɛ jôŋnaŋgwɛ kimɔte. Ɗete, komɛ ɓo lɛpina ɓeyate nɛ wunɛ kɛ yiŋa yasi nde, wunɛ kɛ kelɔ ɓeyate kɛ́, ɓo ta kpalɔ ɓɛŋɛ kimɔ mɛkele mun, lukse Njambiyɛ kɛ yesɔ te yi nyɛ ta nje saŋgwa nɛ ɓomɔ kɛ́.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Wunɛ tɛ̂kwɛ to wokuna nɛ ɓomɔ hɛnɛ ɓe ɗiyɛ nɛ ɓɛsɔ kɛ to mɛnɛti maka ɓaka, kɛto wúnɛ ɓe Nyaŋgwɛ Kumande saŋgwate. Wunɛ kêl ɗete ko suŋgwɛ nɛ kumande ɗya, nyɛ mɔ te ɛ namɛ ɓomɔ hɛnɛ kɔ,
13 — ausente —
14 ko suŋgwɛ nɛ nyaŋgwɛ ɓekum ɓete ɓe nyɛ tɛmbiɗya ɓaka. A tɛ́mbiɗya ɓo, nɛ́ ɓo teɗye mɛbɔnɛ nyɛ ɓotu ɓete ɓe kelɛ ɓeya yasi, lukse ɓe kelɛ kimɔ yasi ɓaka. Wunɛ tɛ̂kwɛ to ɗete,
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 kɛto Njambiyɛ kwáɗyikwɛ nde, wunɛ kêl kimɔ yasi ɗete yí ɗiɓɔ nɛ numbu ɓotu ɓete ɓe kinɛ ɗyanɔ, ɓe yeti kɛ duwɛ yaŋa ɓaka.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Wunɛ jôŋnaŋgwɛ nda yite nda ɓotu ɓete ɓe yeti se ɓebala ɓaka. Ma wunɛ tî taka nde, wunɛ yakama joŋna kelɔ ɓeya yasi ndana lalɛ, kɛto wunɛ sima ɗuwɛ kɛ ɗiyɔ bala te na. Yasi wɛtɛ, wunɛ kpâl nje joŋna kelɔ kimɔ mɛyasi nda ɓebala ɓe Njambiyɛ.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Wunɛ jɛ̂si ɓomɔ hɛnɛ. Wunɛ kwâɗyikwɛ ɓemaŋ ɓun, ndiŋgɛlɛ njɔŋ ɓotu ɓete ɓe tikɛ temɔ kɛ yi Yesus ɓaka. Wunɛ kâmbi Njambiyɛ. Wunɛ jɛ̂si sendi kumande te ɛ ɗiyɛ nɛ ɓɛsɔ ɓomɔ kɔ.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Wunɛ ɓotu ɓe mɛsay, wunɛ tɛ̂kwɛ to wokuna nɛ ɓemasa ɓun nɛ̀ kambina yan kɛ mɛnje hɛnɛ. Wunɛ tî kel ndi ɗete, ŋgɛ ɓɛ nde, ɓo kimɔ wɛyna ɓomɔ suŋgwɛ nɛ wunɛ na. Wunɛ kêl ɗete, ko ɓo ɓɛ̂ki ɓotu ɓe nyalɔ.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Kɛto, ŋgɛ mumɔ gbisɛ mɛbɔnɛ ɗete, kɛto a kɛ kwaɗyɛ kelɔ yasi te yi Njambiyɛ kwaɗyɛ, komɛte, Njambiyɛ kɛ jayɛ yite kelɔ kimɔ yasi nɛ mɔ te, kɛto a sáŋgwaŋgwɛ nɛ mɛbɔnɛ mɛte, ko ɓɛkɔ nde, a tì kelɛ yasi kɔtute na.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Ma ŋgɛ ɓo ŋgiɓile wunɛ teɗye wunɛ mɛbɔnɛ kɛto yiŋa ɓeya yasi te yi wunɛ kelma kɛ́, ko nde, wunɛ gbîsi, ’ɓo má nje tɔndɔ wunɛ kɛ yite kɛto ŋge? Yasi wɛtɛ, ŋgɛ wunɛ gbisɛ mɛbɔnɛ kɛto kimɔ yasi te yi wunɛ kelɛ kɛ́, komɛte, Njambiyɛ kɛ jayɛ yite kelɔ kimɔ yasi nɛ wunɛ,
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 kɛto Njambiyɛ jeɓama wunɛ, nɛ́ wunɛ kel gba ɗete, kɛto *Krist nɛ ŋguru wenɛ saŋgwama sendi nɛ mɛbɔnɛ ɗete kɛto yun. A kelma ɗete, yí teɗye wunɛ, nɛ́ wunɛ kel sendi nda nyɛ yí ɓeŋgwɛ nje te yi nyɛ kwaŋma kɛte kɛ́.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Yo nde, a tì kelɛ nɛ yiŋa ɓeya yasi wɛtɛ yesɔ na. Ɓo tì wokɛ yiŋa lɛpi ja̧ wɛtɛ yesɔ kɛ numbu nɛ na.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Ɓo toyma nyɛ, yasi wɛtɛ, a tì yeŋsa toyɛ mumɔ na. Ɓo teɗya nyɛ mɛbɔnɛ, yasi wɛtɛ, a tì ŋgaliyɛ misi nde, a kɛ yɔkiɗye yenɛ na. A kpalma kaŋɛ yotu nɛ nyɛ kɛ mɛɓɔ mɛ mɔ te ɛ pɛsɛ jɔsi nɛ ŋgbeŋ kɔ.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 A soɓuma mɛɓeyɔ musu kɛ yotu nɛ komɛ ɓo ŋgbama nyɛ kɛ jeti kɛ́, ɗete wusɛ gwa̧ ɗuwɛ kɛ ɗeti te yi mɛɓeyɔ ɓa̧ nɔ suŋgwɛ nɛ wusɛ kɛ́. Krist soɓuma mɛɓeyɔ musu, nɛ́ wusɛ nje joŋna kelɔ nde, mɛyasi kêlnaŋgwɛ nɛ ŋgbeŋ. A saŋgwama nɛ mɛbɔnɛ nɛ̀ mɛpeŋ kɛ yotu, nɛ́ joŋgwɛ ɗyun njaki ɓɛ nɛ tɛ kɛ mbɔmbu Njambiyɛ.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Wunɛ ɗikima wowɔ mbɔmbu kɛ̀ nɔ nda ɓesam. Ma ndana, wunɛ ma yɔkwɛ nje kɛ̀ yi mɔ te ɛ kɛndɛ nɛ wunɛ, ɓakiɗye sendi wunɛ kɔ.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
