1 Jesus tornou a falar-lhes por meio de parábolas:

2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,

3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.

4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.

5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce.

6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew {them}.

7 And {when} the king {heard of it he} was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy;
9 Wal tinan̈ asiꞌwe yulaj calle cat hechejniti sunil mac chiilcha heyu yin̈ huneꞌ kꞌin̈ tiꞌ,” ẍi naj.
9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
10 Yet yaben ebnaj chejab huneꞌ tuꞌ, isto ebnaj yulaj calle, yiniti ebnaj sunil anma chiecꞌ bey tuꞌ. Ay anma cꞌul isbeybal, ay anma txꞌoj isbeybal. Caw xin nohilo teꞌ n̈a yu anma yin̈ huneꞌ kꞌin̈ tuꞌ.
10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests.
11 Hayet yocto naj rey yilno anma cutxanxaco tuꞌ, yilni naj huneꞌ naj mach ayoco xil iskꞌap yet mohyilal.
11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment.
12 Yalni naj rey tet naj: “¿Tzet mayu hawocti bey tiꞌ, machi xin xil hakꞌap yet mohyilal aycoj?” ẍi naj. Yajaꞌ xin maẍticꞌa takꞌwi naj.
12 And he says to him, {My} friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
13 Yalni naj rey tuꞌ tet ebnaj ischejab: “Cꞌalbawe yoj huneꞌ naj tiꞌ yeb iskꞌab naj cat heyanilto naj xol kꞌejholo, haꞌ bey tuꞌ xin chiokꞌo naj yin̈, cat isn̈etxꞌlaho yeh naj,” ẍi naj.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
14 Wal xin chiwalan teyet, caw txꞌiꞌal mac awtebil yu Comam Dios yajaꞌ haywan̈n̈e mac chissiqꞌuilo Comam, ẍi Comam Jesús.
14 For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
15 Lahwi tuꞌ ishecꞌnilo isba ebnaj fariseo, islahtiꞌn̈en isba ebnaj yin̈ tzet chu yakꞌni aycꞌayo ebnaj Comam yin̈ hunu tzotiꞌ, cat yoc ebnaj akꞌocꞌule yin̈ Comam yalni.

16 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men's person;

17 tell us therefore what thou thinkest: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?

19 Shew me the money of the tribute. And they presented to him a denarius.

20 And he says to them, Whose {is} this image and superscription?

21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God.

22 And when they heard {him}, they wondered, and left him, and went away.
23 Yin̈ticꞌa huneꞌ tzꞌayic tuꞌ, ay huntekꞌan ebnaj saduceo bey ilno Comam Jesús. Ebnaj saduceo tuꞌ mach chayto ebnaj yul yanma tato itzitzbican̈ anma camnaxa, yuxin iskꞌambe ebnaj tet Comam:

24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.

25 Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother.

26 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven.

27 And last of all the woman also died.

28 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?
29 Istakꞌwi Comam Jesús tet ebnaj saduceo tuꞌ:
29 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.
30 Wal xin hayet chiitzitzbican̈ anma camom matxa chimohyi, yuto lahanxa chielico hacaꞌ ebnaj ángel ay satcan̈.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.
31 Yin̈ yet chiitzitzbican̈ anma camom tuꞌ, ¿tom maẍto cheyil yul Yum Comam Dios bay chal hacaꞌ tiꞌ?:
31 Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não lestes o que Deus vos disse:
32 “Hanintiꞌan isDiosal naj Abraham, naj Isaac yeb naj Jacob,” ẍiayoj. Yuxin waxan̈ca cam ebnaj yajaꞌ mach cam ebnaj yin̈ huneln̈e. Yuto mach isDiosalo camom ye Comam Dios to isDiosal anma itzitz, ẍi Comam.
32 Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaac e o Deus de Jacó {Ex 3,6}? Ora, ele não é Deus dos mortos, mas Deus dos vivos.

34 Sabendo os fariseus que Jesus reduzira ao silêncio os saduceus, reuniram-se

35 e um deles, doutor da lei, fez-lhe esta pergunta para pô-lo à prova:
36 —Mam cuywawom, ¿baytet chejbanile caw ecꞌbal yelapno xol chejbanile aycano yu naj Moisés? ẍi naj.
36 Mestre, qual é o maior mandamento da lei?
37 Istakꞌwi Comam tet naj:
37 Respondeu Jesus: Amarás o Senhor teu Deus de todo teu coração, de toda tua alma e de todo teu espírito {Dt 6,5}.

38 Este é o maior e o primeiro mandamento.
39 Haꞌ huneꞌxa iscab xin, lahan hacaꞌ huneꞌ babel, chal hacaꞌ tiꞌ: “Xahan cheyil heyet anmahil hacaꞌ hexahann̈en heba,” ẍiayoj.
39 E o segundo, semelhante a este, é: Amarás teu próximo como a ti mesmo {Lv 19,18}.
40 Hayet chicoyijen cabeb chejbanile tiꞌ, lan̈an coyijen huntekꞌanxa cuybanile akꞌbilcano yu naj Moisés, yeb tzet tzꞌibn̈ebilcano yu ebnaj ischejab Comam Dios, ẍi Comam tet naj.
40 Nesses dois mandamentos se resumem toda a lei e os profetas.
41 Hayet cutxantoco ebnaj fariseo tuꞌ,
41 Como os fariseus se agrupassem, Jesus interrogou-os:
42 iskꞌamben Comam Jesús tet ebnaj:
42 Que pensais vós de Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam: De Davi!
43 Yalnipaxo Comam:
43 Como então, prosseguiu Jesus, Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito, chama-o Senhor, dizendo:
44 Yal Comam Dios tet Wahawilan: “Ayan̈ tzꞌon̈no yin̈ inwatxꞌkꞌaban masanto chiwacojan mac ayco ishowal tawin̈ yalan̈ hawoj,” ẍi Comam, ẍi naj David.
44 O Senhor disse a meu Senhor: Senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés {Sl 109,1}?

45 Se, pois, Davi o chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho?

46 Ninguém pôde responder-lhe nada. E, depois daquele dia, ninguém mais ousou interrogá-lo.
