1 To the excelletn musician Ieduthun. A Psalme of David. Yet my soule keepeth silence vnto God: of him commeth my saluation.
1 Em silêncio diante de Deus, minha alma espera, pois dele vem minha vitória.
2 Yet he is my strength and my saluation, and my defence: therefore I shall not much be mooued.
2 Somente ele é minha rocha e minha salvação, minha fortaleza onde jamais serei abalado.
3 How long wil ye imagine mischiefe against a man? ye shalbe all slaine: ye shalbe as a bowed wall, or as a wall shaken.
3 São tantos os inimigos contra um só homem; todos tentam me matar. Para eles, não passo de um muro inclinado ou uma cerca prestes a cair.
4 Yet they consult to cast him downe from his dignitie: their delight is in lies, they blesse with their mouthes, but curse with their hearts. Selah.
4 Planejam me derrubar de minha posição elevada; têm prazer em contar mentiras. Diante de mim, me elogiam; em seu coração, porém, me amaldiçoam. Interlúdio
5 Yet my soule keepe thou silence vnto God: for mine hope is in him.
5 Que minha alma espere em silêncio diante de Deus, pois nele está minha esperança.
6 Yet is hee my strength, and my saluation, and my defence: therefore I shall not be mooued.
6 Somente ele é minha rocha e minha salvação, minha fortaleza onde não serei abalado.
7 In God is my saluation and my glory, the rocke of my strength: in God is my trust.
7 Minha vitória e minha honra vêm somente de Deus; ele é meu refúgio, uma rocha segura.
8 Trust in him alway, ye people: powre out your hearts before him, for God is our hope. Selah.
8 Ó meu povo, confie nele em todo tempo; derrame o coração diante dele, pois Deus é nosso refúgio. Interlúdio
9 Yet the children of men are vanitie, the chiefe men are lies: to lay them vpon a balance they are altogether lighter then vanitie.
9 As pessoas são vazias e enganosas, como uma rajada de vento. Se fosse colocada numa balança, toda a humanidade pesaria menos que um sopro.
10 Trust not in oppression nor in robberie: be not vaine: if riches increase, set not your heart thereon.
10 Não ganhem a vida por meio da extorsão, nem ponham sua esperança em coisas roubadas. Se suas riquezas aumentarem, não façam delas o centro de sua vida.
11 God spake once or twise, I haue heard it, that power belongeth vnto God,
11 Deus falou claramente, e eu ouvi várias vezes: O poder, ó Deus, pertence a ti;
12 And to thee, O Lord, mercie: for thou rewardest euery one according to his worke.
12 o amor, Senhor, é teu. Certamente retribuirás a cada um conforme suas ações.
