1 ያ ኒቶተ፣ ዮ ዽርሶትን ዱብቸ ህንአመኔ ቶኮ ቶኮ ጅራተን አከ እሳን ዱቢ ቶኮ መሌ አመሉመ ኒቶተሳኒቲን ቦጅአመኒፍ እስንስ አከሱመ ዽርሶተኬሰኒፍ አጀጀማ፤

2 እሳንስ ዮሙ ቁልቁልናፊ ሶዳ እስን ጅሬኘኬሰን ኬሰት ቀብደን አርገንት ንቦጅአሙ።
2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 ሚዸግንኬሰን ፋየ አላን ሙልአቱን ጄቹንስ ሹሩባ ዸአቹ፣ ወርቄ ካአቹፊ ኡፈተ በሬዳ ኡፈቹን ህንተእን፤
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 ቆደ ከና ሚዸግንኬሰን ሚዸግነ ኬሰ ነሙማኬሰኒ ሃተኡ፤ እንስ ሚዸግነ ሀፉረ ገራሚፊ ተስገባኣ፣ ከን ህንበድኔ፣ ከን ፉለ ዋቃ ዱረት ገቲ ጉዳ ቀቡ ሃተኡ።
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 ዱበርቶትን ቁልቁሎትን ዱሪ ወር ዋቀ አብደተንስ አከሱመ ዽርሶተሳኒቲፍ አጀጀሙዻን ኦፍ ሚዸግሰን፤
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 ሳራንስ አብረሃሚን “ጎፍታ” ጄቴ ዋማ እሳፍ አጀጀማ ቱርቴ። እስንስ ዮ ዋን ቀጄላ ሆጄተኒፊ ሶዳቹ ባተን እንተለንሼት።
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
7 ያ ዽርሶተ፣ እስንስ አከሱመ አከ እሳን ደዸቦ ተአን ሁበዻቲ ኡልፍነ እሳኒፍ ኬኑዻን ኒቶተኬሰን ወጅን ጅራዻ፤ ከነስ ሰበቢ እሳንስ እስን ወጅን አያነ ጅሬኛ ዻለኒፍ አከ ወን ቶኮዩ ከዻኬሰን ህንጉፈቺፍኔፍ ጄዻቲ ጎዻ።
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 ዹመረት ሁንድኬሰን ያደ ቶኮ ቀባዻ፤ ወሊ ነኣ፤ አከ ኦቦሎታት ወል ጃለዻ፤ ገራ ላፎታፊ ወረ ገድ ኦፍ ቀበንስ ተኣ።

9 ሀማ፣ ሀማዻን ህንዴብስና፤ ዮካን አረብሶ፣ አረብሶዻን ህንዴብስና፤ ቆደ ከና ኤብሳ። እስንስ አከ ኤበ ዻልተኒፍ ከኑማፍ ዋመምተኒቲ።
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 “ነምን ጅሬኘ ጃለቱ፣
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 እን ሀምነራ ዴብኤ ጋሪ ሃሆጄቱ፤
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 እጅ ጎፍታ ቀጄልቶተረ ጅራቲ፤
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 እስን ጋሪ ሆጄቹፍ ዮ ህናፍተን፣ ኤኙቱ እስን ሚዸ?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 ገሩ ዮ ቀጄሉማፍ ጄተኒ ዽጰተን እስን ኤብፈሞዸ። “ሶዳችሱሳኒ ህንሶዳትና፤ ህንጄቀምናስ።”
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 ገሩ ገራኬሰን ኬሰት ክርስቶስ ጎፍትቻፍ ኡልፍነ ጉዳ ኬና። ነመ ሰበቢ አብዲ እስን ቀብደን ሰና እስን ጋፈቱ ከሚፍዩ ዴቢ ኬኑፍ ዬሮ ሁንደ ቆጳኣ። ዋን ከነሞ ገራሙማፊ ሶዳን ጎዻ፤
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 እስንስ ዮሙ ነሞትን ዋኤኬሰን ዋን ሀማ ዱበተንት አከ ወር አመለ ጋሪ እስን ክርስቶስ ኬሰት ቀብደን ሰነ አረብሰን ቃነአኒፍ ያደ ጋሪ ቀባዻ።
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 ዽጰቹንኬሰን ፌዺ ዋቃ ዮ ተኤ፣ ሀማ ሆጄተኒ ዽጰቹረ ጋሪ ሆጄተኒ ዽጰቹ ወየ።
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 ክርስቶስስ ዋቀት እስን ፍዱፍ ጄዼ እን ቀጄላን፣ ወረ ቀጄልቶተ ህንተእኒፍ ስአ ቶኮ ጩቡፍ ዽጰቴራቲ። እን ፎኒን ንአጄፈሜ፤ ሀፉራን ገሩ ጅራታ ታስፈሜ፤
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 ኤርገ ጅራታ ታስፈሜሞ ዸቄ ሀፉሮተ መነ ህዻ ጅረንት ለለቤ፤
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 እሳንስ በረ ኖህ ኬሰ ኡቱ ዶኒን እጃረማ ጅሩ፣ ዬሮ ዋቅን ኦብሳን ኤጌት ወረ ህንአጀጀምኒዸ። ዶኒ ከናንስ ነመ ሙራሰ፣ ወሉመት ነመ ሰዴት ቆፈቱ በዲሰ ብሻኒ ጀላ በኤ፤
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 ብሻን ኩን ፈኬኘ ጩጳ አመዩ እስን ፈይሱት፤ ኩንስ ዸግነራ ጡሪ ባሱ ኡቱ ህንተእን ቀልቢ ቁልቁሉን ዋቃፍ ዋዳ ገሉዸ። እንስ ዱኣ ከኡ ዬሱስ ክርስቶሲን እስን ፈይሰ፤
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 ክርስቶስ ሰሚት ኦል በኤ ምርገ ዋቃ ጅረ፤ ኤርገሞትን ዋቃ፣ ኣንጎወኒፊ ሁምኖትን ሁንድኑ እሰ ጀለት ቡሉ።
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
