1 And publicans and sinful men were nighing to him, to hear him. (And tax-collectors and sinners were coming near to him, to listen to him.)
1 Cobradores de impostos e outros pecadores vinham ouvir Jesus ensinar.
2 And the Pharisees and (the) scribes grudged, saying, For this [man] receiveth sinful men, and eateth with them. (And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, For this \+em man\+em* welcometh sinners, and eateth with them.)
2 Os fariseus e mestres da lei o criticavam, dizendo: “Ele se reúne com pecadores e até come com eles!”.
3 And he spake to them this parable, and said,
3 Então Jesus lhes contou esta parábola:
4 What man of you that hath an hundred sheep, and if he hath lost one of them, whether he leaveth not ninety and nine in (the) desert, and goeth to it that perished, till he find it? (or and goeth after that which is lost, until he find it?)
4 “Se um homem tiver cem ovelhas e uma delas se perder, o que acham que ele fará? Não deixará as outras noventa e nove no pasto e buscará a perdida até encontrá-la?
5 And when he hath found it, he joyeth, and layeth [or putteth] it on his shoulders;
5 E, quando a encontrar, ele a carregará alegremente nos ombros e a levará para casa.
6 and he cometh home, and calleth together his friends and neighbours, and saith to them, Be ye glad with me, for I have found my sheep, that had perished [or that I had lost].
6 Quando chegar, reunirá os amigos e vizinhos e dirá: ‘Alegrem-se comigo, pois encontrei minha ovelha perdida!’.
7 And I say to you, so joy shall be in heaven on one sinful man doing penance, more than on ninety and nine just, that have no need to penance [or that have no need of penance]. (And I tell you, there shall be more joy in heaven over one sinner repenting, than over ninety-nine righteous men, who have no need of repentance.)
7 Da mesma forma, há mais alegria no céu por causa do pecador perdido que se arrepende do que por noventa e nove justos que não precisam se arrepender.”
8 Or what woman having ten bezants [or ten drachmas], and if she hath lost one bezant [or one drachma], whether she tendeth not [or she lighteth not] a lantern, and turneth upside-down the house, and seeketh diligently, till she find it?
8 “Ou suponhamos que uma mulher tenha dez moedas de prata e perca uma. Acaso não acenderá uma lâmpada, varrerá a casa inteira e procurará com cuidado até encontrá-la?
9 And when she hath found (it), she calleth together (her) friends and neighbours, and saith, Be ye glad with me, for I have found the bezant [or the drachma] that I had lost.
9 E, quando a encontrar, reunirá as amigas e vizinhas e dirá: ‘Alegrem-se comigo, pois encontrei a minha moeda perdida!’.
10 So I say to you, joy shall be before the angels of God on one sinful man doing penance. (So I tell you, there is joy among the angels of God over one sinner repenting.)
10 Da mesma forma, há alegria na presença dos anjos de Deus quando um único pecador se arrepende”.
11 And he said, A man had two sons;
11 Jesus continuou: “Um homem tinha dois filhos.
12 and the younger of them said to the father [or and the younger said to his father], Father, give me the portion of (the) chattel [or of \+sls (the)\+sls* substance] that falleth to me. And he parted to them the chattel [or the substance], (or And he divided the goods between them).
12 O filho mais jovem disse ao pai: ‘Quero a minha parte da herança’, e o pai dividiu seus bens entre os filhos.
13 And not after many days, when all things were gathered together, the younger son went forth in pilgrimage into a far country; and there he wasted his goods [or his substance] in living lecherously.
13 “Alguns dias depois, o filho mais jovem arrumou suas coisas e se mudou para uma terra distante, onde desperdiçou tudo que tinha por viver de forma desregrada.
14 And after that he had ended all things, a strong hunger was made in that country, and he began to have need.
14 Quando seu dinheiro acabou, uma grande fome se espalhou pela terra, e ele começou a passar necessidade.
15 And he went, and drew him(self) to one of the citizens of that country. And he sent him into his town, to feed swine, (or to feed his pigs), [or \+sls (so)\+sls* that he should feed hogs].
15 Convenceu um fazendeiro da região a empregá-lo, e esse homem o mandou a seus campos para cuidar dos porcos.
16 And he coveted to fill his womb of the pods that the hogs ate, and no man gave (anything) to him. (And he desired to fill his belly with the pods which the pigs ate, but no one gave him anything to eat.)
16 Embora quisesse saciar a fome com as vagens dadas aos porcos, ninguém lhe dava coisa alguma.
17 And he turned again to himself, and said, How many hired men in my father’s house have plenty of loaves; and I perish here through hunger.
17 “Quando finalmente caiu em si, disse: ‘Até os empregados de meu pai têm comida de sobra, e eu estou aqui, morrendo de fome.
18 I shall rise up, and go to my father, and I shall say to him, Father, I have sinned (up) into heaven [or I have sinned against heaven], and before thee;
18 Vou retornar à casa de meu pai e dizer: Pai, pequei contra o céu e contra o senhor,
19 and now I am not worthy to be called thy son, make me as one of thine hired men.
19 e não sou mais digno de ser chamado seu filho. Por favor, trate-me como seu empregado’.
20 And he rose up, and came to his father. And when he was yet afar, his father saw him, and was stirred by mercy. And he ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
20 “Então voltou para a casa de seu pai. Quando ele ainda estava longe, seu pai o viu. Cheio de compaixão, correu para o filho, o abraçou e o beijou.
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned (up) into heaven [or I have sinned against heaven], and before thee; and now I am not worthy to be called thy son.
21 O filho disse: ‘Pai, pequei contra o céu e contra o senhor, e não sou mais digno de ser chamado seu filho’.
22 And the father said to his servants, Swiftly bring ye forth the first stole, and clothe ye him, and give ye a ring in his hand (or and put a ring on his finger), and shoes on his feet;
22 “O pai, no entanto, disse aos servos: ‘Depressa! Tragam a melhor roupa da casa e vistam nele. Coloquem-lhe um anel no dedo e sandálias nos pés.
23 and bring ye a fat calf [or and bring ye a calf made fat], and slay ye, and eat we, and make we feast.
23 Matem o novilho gordo. Faremos um banquete e celebraremos,
24 For this my son was dead, and hath lived again; he perished (or he was lost), and is found. And all men began to eat [gladly].
24 pois este meu filho estava morto e voltou à vida. Estava perdido e foi achado!’. E começaram a festejar.
25 But his elder son was in the field; and when he came, and nighed to the house (or and approached the house), he heard a symphony and a crowd.
25 “Enquanto isso, o filho mais velho trabalhava no campo. Na volta para casa, ouviu música e dança,
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked, what these things were.
26 e perguntou a um dos servos o que estava acontecendo.
27 And he said to him, Thy brother is come (home), and thy father slew a fat calf [or and thy father hath slain a fatted calf], for he received him safe (again).
27 O servo respondeu: ‘Seu irmão voltou, e seu pai matou o novilho gordo, pois ele voltou são e salvo!’.
28 And he was wroth, and would not come in. Therefore his father went out, and began to pray him (or And so his father went out to him, and began to beseech him).
28 “O irmão mais velho se irou e não quis entrar. O pai saiu e insistiu com o filho,
29 And he answered to his father, and said, Lo! so many years I serve thee, and I never brake thy commandment(s); and thou never gave to me a kid, that I with my friends should have eaten.
29 mas ele respondeu: ‘Todos esses anos, tenho trabalhado como um escravo para o senhor e nunca me recusei a obedecer às suas ordens. E o senhor nunca me deu nem mesmo um cabrito para eu festejar com meus amigos.
30 But after that this thy son, that hath devoured his substance with whores, came, thou hast slain to him a fat calf [or a fatted calf], (or thou hast killed a fatted calf for him).
30 Mas, quando esse seu filho volta, depois de desperdiçar o seu dinheiro com prostitutas, o senhor comemora matando o novilho!’.
31 And he said to him, Son, thou art (for)evermore with me, (or Son, thou art always with me), and all my things be thine.
31 “O pai lhe respondeu: ‘Meu filho, você está sempre comigo, e tudo que eu tenho é seu.
32 But it behooved to make feast, and to have joy; for this thy brother was dead, and lived again [or and liveth again]; he perished, and is found, (or for thy brother was dead, but now he liveth again; he was lost, but now he is found).
32 Mas tínhamos de comemorar este dia feliz, pois seu irmão estava morto e voltou à vida. Estava perdido e foi achado!’”.
