1 Be not your heart afraid [or distroubled], nor dread it, (or Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it have fear or let it be fearful); ye believe in God, and believe ye in me.
1 Não se turbe o vosso coração; credes em Deus, crede também em mim.
2 In the house of my Father be many dwellings; if anything less, I had said to you, for I go to make ready to you a place (or for I go to prepare a place for you).
2 Na casa de meu Pai há muitas moradas. Se assim não fora, eu vo-lo teria dito. Pois vou preparar-vos lugar.
3 And if I go, and make ready to you a place, (or And if I go, and prepare a place for you), again I [shall] come, and I shall take you (un)to myself, (so) that where I am, ye be.
3 E, quando eu for e vos preparar lugar, voltarei e vos receberei para mim mesmo, para que, onde eu estou, estejais vós também.
4 And whither I go, ye know, and ye know the way.
4 E vós sabeis o caminho para onde eu vou.
5 Thomas saith to him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest, and how may we know the way? (Thomas said to him, Lord, we do not know where thou goest, so how can we know the way?)
5 Disse-lhe Tomé: Senhor, não sabemos para onde vais; como saber o caminho?
6 Jesus saith to him, I am (the) way, (the) truth, and (the) life; no man cometh to the Father, but by me.
6 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Eu sou o caminho, e a verdade, e a vida; ninguém vem ao Pai senão por mim.
7 If ye had known me, soothly ye had known also my Father; and afterward ye shall know him, and ye have seen him.
7 Se vós me tivésseis conhecido, conheceríeis também a meu Pai. Desde agora o conheceis e o tendes visto.
8 Philip saith to him, Lord, show to us the Father, and it sufficeth to us.
8 Replicou-lhe Filipe: Senhor, mostra-nos o Pai, e isso nos basta.
9 Jesus saith to him, So long (a) time I am with you, and have ye not known me? Philip, he that seeth me, seeth also the Father. How sayest thou, show to us the Father?
9 Disse-lhe Jesus: Filipe, há tanto tempo estou convosco, e não me tens conhecido? Quem me vê a mim vê o Pai; como dizes tu: Mostra-nos o Pai?
10 Believest thou not, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you, I speak not of myself; but the Father himself that dwelleth in me, [he] doeth the works.
10 Não crês que eu estou no Pai e que o Pai está em mim? As palavras que eu vos digo não as digo por mim mesmo; mas o Pai, que permanece em mim, faz as suas obras.
11 Believe ye not, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? Else believe ye for those works.
11 Crede-me que estou no Pai, e o Pai, em mim; crede ao menos por causa das mesmas obras.
12 Truly, truly, I say to you, (or Truly, I tell you the truth), if a man believeth in me, also he shall do the works that I do; and he shall do greater works than these, for I go to the Father. [Truly, truly, I say to you, he that believeth in me, and he shall do the works that I do; and he shall do more works than these, for I go to the father.]
12 Em verdade, em verdade vos digo que aquele que crê em mim fará também as obras que eu faço e outras maiores fará, porque eu vou para junto do Pai.
13 And whatever thing ye ask the Father in my name, I shall do this thing, (so) that the Father be glorified in the Son.
13 E tudo quanto pedirdes em meu nome, isso farei, a fim de que o Pai seja glorificado no Filho.
14 If ye ask anything in my name, I shall do it.
14 Se me pedirdes alguma coisa em meu nome, eu o farei.
15 If ye love me, keep ye my commandments (or obey my commandments).
15 Se me amais, guardareis os meus mandamentos.
16 And I shall pray the Father, and he shall give to you another Comforter, the Spirit of truth, to dwell with you [into] without end (or to remain with you forever);
16 E eu rogarei ao Pai, e ele vos dará outro Consolador, a fim de que esteja para sempre convosco,
17 which Spirit the world may not take (or which \+em Spirit\+em* the world cannot receive), for it seeth him not, neither knoweth him. But ye shall know him, for he shall dwell with you, and he shall be in you.
17 o Espírito da verdade, que o mundo não pode receber, porque não o vê, nem o conhece; vós o conheceis, porque ele habita convosco e estará em vós.
18 I shall not leave you fatherless, I shall come to you.
18 Não vos deixarei órfãos, voltarei para vós outros.
19 Yet a little, and the world seeth not now me [or and the world seeth not me now]; but ye shall see me, for I live, and ye shall live.
19 Ainda por um pouco, e o mundo não me verá mais; vós, porém, me vereis; porque eu vivo, vós também vivereis.
20 In that day ye shall know, that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
20 Naquele dia, vós conhecereis que eu estou em meu Pai, e vós, em mim, e eu, em vós.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them (or obeyeth them), he it is that loveth me; and he that loveth me, shall be loved of my Father (or shall be loved by my Father), and I shall love him, and I shall show to him myself.
21 Aquele que tem os meus mandamentos e os guarda, esse é o que me ama; e aquele que me ama será amado por meu Pai, e eu também o amarei e me manifestarei a ele.
22 Judas saith to him, not he of Iscariot, Lord, what is done, (or Lord, why is it), that thou shalt show thyself to us, and not to the world?
22 Disse-lhe Judas, não o Iscariotes: Donde procede, Senhor, que estás para manifestar-te a nós e não ao mundo?
23 Jesus answered, and said to him, If any man loveth me, he shall keep my word(s), (or he shall obey my words); and my Father shall love him, and we shall come to him, and we shall dwell with him.
23 Respondeu Jesus: Se alguém me ama, guardará a minha palavra; e meu Pai o amará, e viremos para ele e faremos nele morada.
24 He that loveth me not, keepeth not my words (or obeyeth not my words); and the word which ye have heard, is not mine, but the Father’s, that sent me.
24 Quem não me ama não guarda as minhas palavras; e a palavra que estais ouvindo não é minha, mas do Pai, que me enviou.
25 These things I have spoken to you, dwelling among you;
25 Isto vos tenho dito, estando ainda convosco;
26 but that Holy Ghost, the Comforter, whom the Father shall send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and shall show, [or remember], to you all things, whatever things I shall say to you. (but the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, whom the Father shall send in my name, he shall teach you everything, and shall remind you of everything, whatever I have said to you.)
26 mas o Consolador, o Espírito Santo, a quem o Pai enviará em meu nome, esse vos ensinará todas as coisas e vos fará lembrar de tudo o que vos tenho dito.
27 Peace I leave to you, my peace I give to you; not as the world giveth, I give to you; be not your heart afraid [or troubled], nor dread it, (or let not your heart be troubled, nor let it have fear or let it be fearful).
27 Deixo-vos a paz, a minha paz vos dou; não vo-la dou como a dá o mundo. Não se turbe o vosso coração, nem se atemorize.
28 Ye have heard, that I said to you, I go, and (then I shall) come (back) to you. If ye loved me, forsooth ye should have joy, for I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
28 Ouvistes que eu vos disse: vou e volto para junto de vós. Se me amásseis, alegrar-vos-íeis de que eu vá para o Pai, pois o Pai é maior do que eu.
29 And now I have said to you, before that it be done, (so) that when it is done, ye believe (it).
29 Disse-vos agora, antes que aconteça, para que, quando acontecer, vós creiais.
30 Now I shall not speak many things with you; for the prince of this world cometh, and hath not in me anything, [or and he hath not anything in me], (or and he hath no power over me).
30 Já não falarei muito convosco, porque aí vem o príncipe do mundo; e ele nada tem em mim;
31 But (so) that the world know, that I love the Father; and as the Father gave a commandment to me, so I do (it). Rise ye, go we hence, (or Get up, let us go now).
31 contudo, assim procedo para que o mundo saiba que eu amo o Pai e que faço como o Pai me ordenou. Levantai-vos, vamo-nos daqui.
