1 Stand ye therefore, and do not ye again be held in the yoke of servage. (And so stand firm, and do not be held again in the yoke of servitude or slavery.)
1 Cristo nos libertou para que nós sejamos realmente livres. Por isso, continuem firmes como pessoas livres e não se tornem escravos novamente.
2 Lo! I, Paul, say to you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall nothing profit to you. (Behold! I, Paul, say to you, that if ye be circumcised, the Messiah shall be of no profit to you.)
2 Prestem atenção! Eu, Paulo, afirmo que, se vocês deixarem que os circuncidem , então Cristo não tem nenhum valor para vocês.
3 And I witness again to each man that circumciseth himself (or And I testify again to each man who circumciseth himself), that he is a debtor of all the law to be done.
3 Repito isto mais uma vez para qualquer homem que deixar que o circuncidem: esse homem é obrigado a obedecer a toda a lei .
4 And ye be voided away from Christ, and ye that be justified in the law, ye have fallen away from grace. (And ye be devoid of the Messiah, yea, ye who be justified by the Law, ye have fallen away from grace.)
4 Vocês que querem que Deus os aceite porque obedecem à lei estão separados de Cristo e não têm a graça de Deus.
5 For we through the Spirit of belief abide the hope of rightwiseness. [For we by \+sls (the)\+sls* Spirit of faith abide the hope of rightwiseness.]
5 Mas nós temos a esperança de que Deus nos aceitará, e é isso o que esperamos pelo poder do Espírito de Deus, que age por meio da nossa fé.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision is anything worth, neither prepuce, but the belief that worketh by charity [or but \+sls (the)\+sls* faith that worketh by charity]. (For in Jesus Christ circumcision is not worth anything, nor is uncircumcision, but only faith that worketh through love.)
6 Pois, quando estamos unidos com Cristo Jesus, não faz diferença nenhuma estar ou não estar circuncidado. O que importa é a fé que age por meio do amor.
7 Ye ran well; who hindered you that ye obeyed not to the truth?
7 Vocês estavam indo tão bem! Quem convenceu vocês a deixarem de seguir a verdade?
8 Consent ye to no man; for this counsel is not of (or from) him that hath called you.
8 É claro que quem os convenceu não foi Deus, que os chamou .
9 A little sourdough impaireth [or maketh sour] all the gobbet. (A little leaven maketh the whole piece sour.)
9 Como dizem por aí: “Um pouco de fermento fermenta toda a massa.”
10 I trust on you in our Lord, that ye should understand none other thing. And who that disturbeth you [or Forsooth he that distroubleth you], shall bear doom (or shall receive God’s judgement), whoever he be.
10 Mas eu ainda tenho confiança em vocês. A nossa união com o Senhor me dá a certeza de que vocês voltarão a pensar da maneira certa. E também tenho certeza de que o homem que está perturbando vocês, seja ele quem for, será castigado por Deus.
11 And, brethren, if I preach yet circumcision, what suffer I yet persecution? then the stumbling of the cross is avoided/is voided. (And, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? for then the stumbling of the cross is made null and void.)
11 Porém, irmãos, se é verdade que eu continuo a anunciar que a circuncisão é necessária, por que é que sou perseguido? Se eu anunciasse isso, então a minha pregação a respeito da cruz de Cristo não causaria dificuldade para ninguém.
12 I would that they were cut away, that disturb you. [I would that they that distrouble you, be also cut off.](I wish that those who disturb or trouble you, wanting you to be circumcised just like they be, would cut it all off!)
12 E, quanto a esses homens que andam perturbando vocês, eu gostaria que se castrassem de uma vez!
13 For, brethren, ye be called into freedom [or into liberty]; only give ye not freedom [or liberty] into (an) occasion of (the) flesh, but by charity of [the] Spirit serve ye together (or but in the love of the Spirit serve one another).
13 Porém vocês, irmãos, foram chamados para serem livres. Mas não deixem que essa liberdade se torne uma desculpa para permitir que a natureza humana domine vocês. Pelo contrário, que o amor faça com que vocês sirvam uns aos outros.
14 For every law [or all the law] is fulfilled in one word (or For all the Law is fulfilled in a single sentence), Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
14 Pois a lei inteira se resume em um mandamento só: “Ame os outros como você ama a você mesmo.”
15 And if ye bite, and eat each other, see ye, lest ye be wasted each from (the) other (or lest ye destroy one another).
15 Mas, se vocês agem como animais selvagens, ferindo e prejudicando uns aos outros, então cuidado para não acabarem se matando!
16 And I say to you in Christ(or And I say to you \+em in the Messiah\+em*), walk ye in (the) Spirit, and ye shall not perform the desires of the flesh.
16 Quero dizer a vocês o seguinte: deixem que o Espírito de Deus dirija a vida de vocês e não obedeçam aos desejos da natureza humana.
17 For the flesh coveteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these be adversaries together, that ye do not all things that ye will, (or for they be adversaries with each other, so that ye do not do the things that ye desire to do).
17 Porque o que a nossa natureza humana quer é contra o que o Espírito quer, e o que o Espírito quer é contra o que a natureza humana quer. Os dois são inimigos, e por isso vocês não podem fazer o que vocês querem.
18 That if ye be led by [the] Spirit, ye be not under the law. (But if ye be led by the Spirit, ye shall not be under the Law.)
18 Porém, se é o Espírito de Deus que guia vocês, então vocês não estão debaixo da lei .
19 And the works of the flesh be open, which be fornication, uncleanness, unchastity, lechery,
19 As coisas que a natureza humana produz são bem-conhecidas. Elas são: a imoralidade sexual, a impureza, as ações indecentes,
20 service of false gods [or serving of idols], witchcrafts, enmities, strivings [or strives], indignations, wraths, chidings, dissensions, sects [or heresies],
20 a adoração de ídolos, as feitiçarias, as inimizades, as brigas, as ciumeiras, os acessos de raiva, a ambição egoísta, a desunião, as divisões,
21 envies, manslayings, drunkennesses, unmeasurable eatings [or gluttonies], and things like to these, which I say to you before, as I have told to you before, for they that do such things, shall not have the kingdom of God, (or for they who do such things, shall not possess the Kingdom of God).
21 as invejas, as bebedeiras, as farras e outras coisas parecidas com essas. Repito o que já disse: os que fazem essas coisas não receberão o Reino de Deus .
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is charity (or love), joy, peace, patience, long abiding (or endurance), benignity, [or good will], goodness, mildness (or meekness and humility), faith,
22 Mas o Espírito de Deus produz o amor, a alegria, a paz, a paciência, a delicadeza, a bondade, a fidelidade,
23 temperance, continence, chastity; against such things (there) is no law.
23 a humildade e o domínio próprio. E contra essas coisas não existe lei.
24 And they that be of Christ, have crucified their flesh with vices and covetings [or concupiscences]. (And they who belong to the Messiah, have crucified their flesh with its vices and its coveting.)
24 As pessoas que pertencem a Cristo Jesus crucificaram a natureza humana delas, junto com todas as paixões e desejos dessa natureza.
25 If we live by (the) Spirit, walk we by (the) Spirit;
25 Que o Espírito de Deus, que nos deu a vida, controle também a nossa vida!
26 be we not made covetous of vain glory, stirring each other to wrath, or having envy each to (the) other. (be we not made covetous of empty boasting, stirring each other to anger, \+em or\+em* having envy with one another.)
26 Nós não devemos ser orgulhosos, nem provocar ninguém, nem ter inveja uns dos outros.
