5 for our gospel was not at you in word only, but also in virtue, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much plenty; as ye know, which we were among you for you; (and so we brought you the Gospel or the Good News, not in words alone, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, or but also in the power of the Holy Spirit, and with great certitude; and ye know, what manner of men we were when we were among you for your own sakes;)
5 Pois temos anunciado o evangelho a vocês não somente com palavras, mas também com poder, com o Espírito Santo e com a certeza de que esta mensagem é a verdade. Vocês sabem de que maneira nos comportamos no meio de vocês, para o próprio bem de vocês.
6 and ye be made followers of us, and of the Lord, receiving the word in much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Ghost, (or with joy in the Holy Spirit or from the Holy Spirit);
6 E vocês seguiram o nosso exemplo e o exemplo do Senhor Jesus. Embora tenham sofrido muito, vocês receberam a mensagem com aquela alegria que vem do Espírito Santo.
7 so that ye be made (an) ensample to all men that believe, in Macedonia and in Achaia.
7 Desse modo vocês se tornaram um exemplo para todos os cristãos das províncias da Macedônia e da Acaia.
8 For of you the word of the Lord is published [or is much told \+sls (out)\+sls*], not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith that is to God, in each place is gone forth, [or but in each place your faith that is to God, is gone forth]; so that it is not need(ful) to us to speak anything (or so that it is not needed or necessary for us to say anything more).
8 Pois a mensagem a respeito do Senhor partiu de vocês e se espalhou pela Macedônia e pela Acaia, e as notícias sobre a fé que vocês têm em Deus chegaram a todos os lugares. Portanto, sobre isso não é preciso falarmos mais nada.
9 For they show of you, what manner entry we had to you, and how ye be converted to God from maumets [or from simulacra], to serve to the living God and very; (For they tell about you, and how we visited you, and thereafter how ye be turned from idols, to serve the living and true God;)
