1 So a man guess, [or deem], us as ministers of Christ, (or So think of us as servants of the Messiah), and (as) dispensers of the mysteries of God.
1 Vocês nos devem tratar como servidores de Cristo, que foram encarregados de administrar a realização dos planos secretos de Deus.
2 Now it is sought here among the dispensers, that a man be found true.
2 O que se exige de quem tem essa responsabilidade é que seja fiel ao seu Senhor.
3 And to me it is for the least thing, that I be deemed of you (or if I be judged by you), or of man’s day; but neither I deem (or I judge) myself.
3 Mas para mim não tem a menor importância ser julgado por vocês ou por um tribunal humano. Eu não julgo nem a mim mesmo.
4 For I am nothing over-trusting, [or guilty], to myself, but not in this thing I am justified; for he that deemeth me, is the Lord.
4 A minha consciência está limpa, mas isso não prova que sou, de fato, inocente. Quem me julga é o Senhor.
5 Therefore do not ye deem before the time, till that the Lord come, which shall lighten the hid things of (the) darknesses, and shall show the counsels of (the) hearts; and then praising shall be to each man of God. (And so do not judge before the time, until that the Lord come, who shall lighten things hidden in the darkness, and shall reveal the plans in the hearts; and then praises shall be to each person in God.)
5 Portanto, não julguem ninguém antes da hora; esperem o julgamento final, quando o Senhor vier. Ele trará para a luz os segredos escondidos no escuro e mostrará as intenções que estão no coração das pessoas. Então cada um receberá de Deus os elogios que merece.
6 And, brethren, I have transfigured these things into me and into Apollos, for you; that in us ye learn (or so that ye can learn from us), lest over that it is written [or lest over that that is written], one against another be blown with pride for another [man].
6 Meus irmãos, é para instruir vocês que eu tenho aplicado essas lições a mim mesmo e a Apolo. Usei nós dois como um exemplo, para que vocês aprendam o que quer dizer o ditado: “Obedeça ao que está escrito.” Ninguém deve se orgulhar de uma pessoa e desprezar outra.
7 Who deemeth thee? (or Who judgeth thee?) And what hast thou, that thou hast not received? And if thou hast received (it), what gloriest thou (or why boastest thou), as (if) thou haddest not received (it)?
7 Quem é que fez você superior aos outros? Por acaso não foi Deus quem lhe deu tudo o que você tem? Então por que é que você fica todo orgulhoso como se o que você tem não fosse dado por Deus?
8 Now ye be [full-]filled, now ye be made rich; ye reign without us; and I would that ye reign, (so) that also we (could) reign with you.
8 Pelo que parece, vocês já têm tudo o que precisam! Já são ricos! Vocês já se tornaram reis, e nós, não! Que bom se vocês fossem reis de verdade, para que nós pudéssemos reinar junto com vocês!
9 And I guess, that God showed us the last apostles, (or For I think, that God hath made us apostles the last, or the lowest), (yea), as those that be sent to the death; for we be made a spectacle to the world, and to angels, and to men.
9 Porque me parece que Deus pôs a nós, os apóstolos , no último lugar. Somos como as pessoas condenadas a morrer em público, como espetáculo para o mundo inteiro, tanto para os anjos como para os seres humanos.
10 We fools for Christ, but ye prudent in Christ; we sick, but ye strong; ye noble, but we unnoble. (We be fools for the Messiah, but ye be wise in the Messiah; we be frail or weak, but ye be strong; ye be noble, but we be ignoble.)
10 Por causa de Cristo nós somos loucos, mas vocês são sábios por estarem unidos com ele. Nós somos fracos, e vocês são fortes; vocês são respeitados, e nós somos desprezados.
11 Till into this hour we hunger, and thirst, and be naked, and be smitten with buffets, and we be unstable, [moving from place to place],
11 Até agora temos passado fome e sede. Temos nos vestido com trapos, temos recebido bofetadas e não temos lugar certo para morar.
12 and we travail working with our hands; we be cursed, and we bless; we suffer persecution, and we abide long;

13 we be blasphemed, and we beseech; as cleansings of this world we be made the out-casting(s) of all things till yet.
13 Quando somos insultados, respondemos com palavras delicadas. Somos considerados como lixo, e até agora somos tratados como a imundície deste mundo.
14 I write not these things, (so) that I confound you, but (that) I warn you as my most dearworthy sons.
14 Não estou escrevendo essas coisas para envergonhar vocês, mas para ensiná-los como se vocês fossem meus próprios filhos queridos.
15 For why if ye have ten thousand of under-masters in Christ, but not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have (en)gendered you by the gospel. (For ye may have ten thousand tutors in the Messiah, but only one father; for in the Messiah Jesus I have begat you, by preaching the Gospel or the Good News.)
15 Mesmo que vocês tivessem milhares de mestres na fé cristã, não poderiam ter mais de um pai. Pois, quando levei a vocês o evangelho , eu me tornei o pai de vocês na vida que vivem em união com Cristo Jesus.
16 Therefore, brethren, I pray you, be ye followers of me, as I of Christ. (And so brothers, I beseech you, be followers of me, like I am of the Messiah.)
16 Portanto, eu peço que sigam o meu exemplo.
17 Therefore I sent to you Timothy, which is my most dearworthy son, and faithful in the Lord, which shall teach you [or shall admonish you \+sls (in)\+sls*] my ways, that be in Christ Jesus, (or who shall teach you my way of life, that is in the Messiah Jesus); as I teach everywhere in each church.
17 Por isso estou enviando para vocês Timóteo, que é meu querido e fiel filho no Senhor. Ele vai ajudá-los a lembrarem dos caminhos que sigo na nova vida que tenho em união com Cristo Jesus, caminhos esses que ensino em todas as igrejas.
18 As though I should not come to you, so some be blown with pride;
18 Alguns de vocês ficaram orgulhosos, certos de que eu não iria visitá-los.
19 but I shall come to you soon, if God will (or God willing); and I shall know not the word(s) of them that be blown with pride, but the virtue (or but the power).
19 Porém, se o Senhor quiser, eu vou visitá-los logo. Então vou saber o que esses orgulhosos são capazes de fazer e não somente o que eles são capazes de dizer.
20 For the realm of God is not in word(s), but in virtue. (For the Kingdom of God is not of words, but of power.)
20 Pois o Reino de Deus não é coisa de palavras, mas de poder.
21 What will ye? Shall I come to you in a rod, or in charity, and in a spirit of mildness? (What desire ye? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love, and in a spirit of meekness and humility?)
21 O que é que vocês preferem: que eu vá até vocês com um chicote ou com o coração cheio de amor e bondade?
