GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs NVI
1 When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him.
1 Quando ele desceu do monte, grandes multidões o seguiram.
2 A man with a serious skin disease came and bowed down in front of him. The man said to Jesus, “Sir, if you’re willing, you can make me clean.”
2 Um leproso, aproximando-se, adorou-o de joelhos e disse: "Senhor, se quiseres, podes purificar-me! "
3 Jesus reached out, touched him, and said, “I’m willing. So be clean!” Immediately, his skin disease went away, and he was clean.
3 Jesus estendeu a mão, tocou nele e disse: "Quero. Seja purificado! " Imediatamente ele foi purificado da lepra.
4 Jesus said to him, “Don’t tell anyone about this! Instead, show yourself to the priest. Then offer the sacrifice Moses commanded as proof to people that you are clean.”
4 Em seguida Jesus lhe disse: "Olhe, não conte isso a ninguém. Mas vá mostrar-se ao sacerdote e apresente a oferta que Moisés ordenou, para que sirva de testemunho".
5 When Jesus went to Capernaum, a Roman army officer came to beg him for help.
5 Entrando Jesus em Cafarnaum, dirigiu-se a ele um centurião, pedindo-lhe ajuda.
6 The officer said, “Sir, my servant is lying at home paralyzed and in terrible pain.”
6 E disse: "Senhor, meu servo está em casa, paralítico, em terrível sofrimento".
7 Jesus said to him, “I’ll come to heal him.”
7 Jesus lhe disse: "Eu irei curá-lo".
8 The officer responded, “Sir, I don’t deserve to have you come into my house. But just give a command, and my servant will be healed.
8 Respondeu o centurião: "Senhor, não mereço receber-te debaixo do meu teto. Mas dize apenas uma palavra, e o meu servo será curado.
9 As you know, I’m in a chain of command and have soldiers at my command. I tell one of them, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and another, ‘Come!’ and he comes. I tell my servant, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”
9 Pois eu também sou homem sujeito à autoridade, com soldados sob o meu comando. Digo a um: ‘Vá’, e ele vai; e a outro: ‘Venha’, e ele vem. Digo a meu servo: ‘Faça isto’, e ele faz".
10 Jesus was amazed when he heard this. He said to those who were following him, “I can guarantee this truth: I haven’t found faith as great as this in anyone in Israel.
10 Ao ouvir isso, Jesus admirou-se e disse aos que o seguiam: "Digo-lhes a verdade: Não encontrei em Israel ninguém com tamanha fé.
11 I can guarantee that many will come from all over the world. They will eat with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
11 Eu lhes digo que muitos virão do Oriente e do Ocidente, e se sentarão à mesa com Abraão, Isaque e Jacó no Reino dos céus.
12 The citizens of that kingdom will be thrown outside into the darkness. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.”
12 Mas os súditos do Reino serão lançados para fora, nas trevas, onde haverá choro e ranger de dentes".
13 Jesus told the officer, “Go! What you believed will be done for you.” And at that moment the servant was healed.
13 Então Jesus disse ao centurião: "Vá! Como você creu, assim lhe acontecerá! " Na mesma hora o seu servo foi curado.
14 When Jesus went to Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law in bed with a fever.
14 Entrando Jesus na casa de Pedro, viu a sogra deste de cama, com febre.
15 Jesus touched her hand, and the fever went away. So she got up and prepared a meal for him.
15 Tomando-a pela mão, a febre a deixou, e ela se levantou e começou a servi-lo.
16 In the evening the people brought him many who were possessed by demons. He forced the ⌞evil⌟ spirits out of people with a command and cured everyone who was sick.
16 Ao anoitecer foram trazidos a ele muitos endemoninhados, e ele expulsou os espíritos com uma palavra e curou todos os doentes.
17 So what the prophet Isaiah had said came true: “He took away our weaknesses and removed our diseases.”
17 E assim se cumpriu o que fora dito pelo profeta Isaías: "Ele tomou sobre si as nossas enfermidades e sobre si levou as nossas doenças".
18 Now, when Jesus saw a crowd around him, he ordered ⌞his disciples⌟ to cross to the other side of the Sea of Galilee.
18 Quando Jesus viu a multidão ao seu redor, deu ordens para que atravessassem para o outro lado do mar.
19 An expert in Moses’ Teachings came to him and said, “Teacher, I’ll follow you wherever you go.”
19 Então, um mestre da lei aproximou-se e disse: "Mestre, eu te seguirei por onde quer que fores".
20 Jesus told him, “Foxes have holes, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to sleep.”
20 Jesus respondeu: "As raposas têm suas tocas e as aves do céu têm seus ninhos, mas o Filho do homem não tem onde repousar a cabeça".
21 Another disciple said to him, “Sir, first let me go to bury my father.”
21 Outro discípulo lhe disse: "Senhor, deixa-me ir primeiro sepultar meu pai".
22 But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
22 Mas Jesus lhe disse: "Siga-me, e deixe que os mortos sepultem os seus próprios mortos".
23 Jesus’ disciples went with him as he left in a boat.
23 Entrando ele no barco, seus discípulos o seguiram.
24 Suddenly, a severe storm came across the sea. The waves were covering the boat. Yet, Jesus was sleeping.
24 De repente, uma violenta tempestade abateu-se sobre o mar, de forma que as ondas inundavam o barco. Jesus, porém, dormia.
25 So they woke him up, saying, “Lord! Save us! We’re going to die!”
25 Os discípulos foram acordá-lo, clamando: "Senhor, salva-nos! Vamos morrer! "
26 Jesus said to them, “Why do you cowards have so little faith?” Then he got up, gave an order to the wind and the sea, and the sea became very calm.
26 Ele perguntou: "Por que vocês estão com tanto medo, homens de pequena fé? " Então ele se levantou e repreendeu os ventos e o mar, e fez-se completa bonança.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the wind and the sea obey him!”
27 Os homens ficaram perplexos e perguntaram: "Quem é este que até os ventos e o mar lhe obedecem? "
28 When he arrived in the territory of the Gadarenes on the other side ⌞of the Sea of Galilee⌟, two men met him. They were possessed by demons and had come out of the tombs. No one could travel along that road because the men were so dangerous.
28 Quando ele chegou ao outro lado, à região dos gadarenos, foram ao seu encontro dois endemoninhados, que vinham dos sepulcros. Eles eram tão violentos que ninguém podia passar por aquele caminho.
29 They shouted, “Why are you bothering us now, Son of God? Did you come here to torture us before it is time?”
29 Então eles gritaram: "Que queres conosco, Filho de Deus? Vieste aqui para nos atormentar antes do devido tempo? "
30 A large herd of pigs was feeding in the distance.
30 A certa distância deles estava pastando uma grande manada de porcos.
31 The demons begged Jesus, “If you’re going to force us out, send us into that herd of pigs.”
31 Os demônios imploravam a Jesus: "Se nos expulsas, manda-nos entrar naquela manada de porcos".
32 Jesus said to them, “Go!” The demons came out and went into the pigs. Suddenly, the whole herd rushed down the cliff into the sea and died in the water.
32 Ele lhes disse: "Vão! " Eles saíram e entraram nos porcos, e toda a manada atirou-se precipício abaixo, em direção ao mar, e morreu afogada.
33 Those who took care of the pigs ran into the city. There they reported everything, especially about the men possessed by demons.
33 Os que cuidavam dos porcos fugiram, foram à cidade e contaram tudo, inclusive o que acontecera aos endemoninhados.
34 Everyone from the city went to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged him to leave their territory.
34 Toda a cidade saiu ao encontro de Jesus, e quando o viram, suplicaram-lhe que saísse do território deles.
