GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs NAA
1 When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him.
1 Quando Jesus desceu do monte, grandes multidões o seguiram.
2 A man with a serious skin disease came and bowed down in front of him. The man said to Jesus, “Sir, if you’re willing, you can make me clean.”
2 E eis que um leproso aproximou-se e o adorou, dizendo: — Senhor, se quiser, pode me purificar.
3 Jesus reached out, touched him, and said, “I’m willing. So be clean!” Immediately, his skin disease went away, and he was clean.
3 E Jesus, estendendo a mão, tocou nele, dizendo: E, no mesmo instante, ele ficou limpo da sua lepra.
4 Jesus said to him, “Don’t tell anyone about this! Instead, show yourself to the priest. Then offer the sacrifice Moses commanded as proof to people that you are clean.”
4 Então Jesus lhe disse:
5 When Jesus went to Capernaum, a Roman army officer came to beg him for help.
5 Tendo Jesus entrado em Cafarnaum, um centurião se aproximou dele, implorando:
6 The officer said, “Sir, my servant is lying at home paralyzed and in terrible pain.”
6 — Senhor, o meu servo está na minha casa, de cama, paralítico, sofrendo horrivelmente.
7 Jesus said to him, “I’ll come to heal him.”
7 Jesus lhe disse:
8 The officer responded, “Sir, I don’t deserve to have you come into my house. But just give a command, and my servant will be healed.
8 Mas o centurião respondeu: — Senhor, não sou digno de recebê-lo em minha casa. Mas apenas mande com uma palavra, e o meu servo será curado.
9 As you know, I’m in a chain of command and have soldiers at my command. I tell one of them, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and another, ‘Come!’ and he comes. I tell my servant, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”
9 Porque também eu sou homem sujeito à autoridade, tenho soldados às minhas ordens e digo a este: “Vá”, e ele vai; e a outro: “Venha”, e ele vem; e ao meu servo: “Faça isto”, e ele o faz.
10 Jesus was amazed when he heard this. He said to those who were following him, “I can guarantee this truth: I haven’t found faith as great as this in anyone in Israel.
10 Ao ouvir isso, Jesus ficou admirado e disse aos que o acompanhavam:
11 I can guarantee that many will come from all over the world. They will eat with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
11 Digo a vocês que muitos virão do Oriente e do Ocidente e tomarão lugar à mesa com Abraão, Isaque e Jacó no Reino dos Céus.
12 The citizens of that kingdom will be thrown outside into the darkness. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.”
12 Mas os filhos do Reino serão lançados para fora, nas trevas; ali haverá choro e ranger de dentes.
13 Jesus told the officer, “Go! What you believed will be done for you.” And at that moment the servant was healed.
13 Então Jesus disse ao centurião: E, naquela mesma hora, o servo do centurião foi curado.
14 When Jesus went to Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law in bed with a fever.
14 Tendo Jesus chegado à casa de Pedro, viu a sogra deste acamada, com febre.
15 Jesus touched her hand, and the fever went away. So she got up and prepared a meal for him.
15 Mas Jesus tomou-a pela mão, e a febre a deixou. Ela se levantou e passou a servi-lo.
16 In the evening the people brought him many who were possessed by demons. He forced the ⌞evil⌟ spirits out of people with a command and cured everyone who was sick.
16 Ao cair da tarde, trouxeram a Jesus muitos endemoniados. E apenas com a palavra expulsou os espíritos e curou todos os que estavam doentes,
17 So what the prophet Isaiah had said came true: “He took away our weaknesses and removed our diseases.”
17 para se cumprir o que foi dito por meio do profeta Isaías: “Ele mesmo tomou as nossas enfermidades e carregou as nossas doenças.”
18 Now, when Jesus saw a crowd around him, he ordered ⌞his disciples⌟ to cross to the other side of the Sea of Galilee.
18 Vendo Jesus muita gente ao seu redor, ordenou que passassem para a outra margem.
19 An expert in Moses’ Teachings came to him and said, “Teacher, I’ll follow you wherever you go.”
19 Então, aproximando-se dele um escriba, disse a Jesus: — Mestre, vou segui-lo para onde quer que o senhor for.
20 Jesus told him, “Foxes have holes, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to sleep.”
20 Mas Jesus lhe respondeu:
21 Another disciple said to him, “Sir, first let me go to bury my father.”
21 E outro dos discípulos lhe disse: — Senhor, deixe-me ir primeiro sepultar o meu pai.
22 But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
22 Mas Jesus respondeu:
23 Jesus’ disciples went with him as he left in a boat.
23 Jesus entrou no barco e os seus discípulos o seguiram.
24 Suddenly, a severe storm came across the sea. The waves were covering the boat. Yet, Jesus was sleeping.
24 E eis que levantou-se no mar uma grande tempestade, de modo que as ondas cobriam o barco. Jesus, porém, estava dormindo.
25 So they woke him up, saying, “Lord! Save us! We’re going to die!”
25 Mas os discípulos foram acordá-lo, dizendo: — Senhor, salve-nos! Estamos perecendo!
26 Jesus said to them, “Why do you cowards have so little faith?” Then he got up, gave an order to the wind and the sea, and the sea became very calm.
26 Então Jesus perguntou: E, levantando-se, repreendeu os ventos e o mar; e tudo ficou bem calmo.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the wind and the sea obey him!”
27 E aqueles homens ficaram admirados, dizendo: — Quem é este que até os ventos e o mar lhe obedecem?
28 When he arrived in the territory of the Gadarenes on the other side ⌞of the Sea of Galilee⌟, two men met him. They were possessed by demons and had come out of the tombs. No one could travel along that road because the men were so dangerous.
28 Quando Jesus chegou à outra margem, à terra dos gadarenos, dois endemoniados foram ao seu encontro, saindo dentre os túmulos. Eles eram tão furiosos, que ninguém podia passar por aquele caminho.
29 They shouted, “Why are you bothering us now, Son of God? Did you come here to torture us before it is time?”
29 E eis que gritaram: — O que você quer conosco, Filho de Deus? Você veio aqui nos atormentar antes do tempo?
30 A large herd of pigs was feeding in the distance.
30 Ora, uma grande manada de porcos estava pastando não longe deles.
31 The demons begged Jesus, “If you’re going to force us out, send us into that herd of pigs.”
31 Então os demônios pediram a Jesus com insistência: — Se você vai nos expulsar, mande-nos para a manada de porcos.
32 Jesus said to them, “Go!” The demons came out and went into the pigs. Suddenly, the whole herd rushed down the cliff into the sea and died in the water.
32 Jesus disse: E eles, saindo, entraram nos porcos; e eis que toda a manada se precipitou, despenhadeiro abaixo, para dentro do mar, e morreram nas águas.
33 Those who took care of the pigs ran into the city. There they reported everything, especially about the men possessed by demons.
33 Os que tratavam dos porcos fugiram e, chegando à cidade, anunciaram todas estas coisas e o que tinha acontecido com os endemoniados.
34 Everyone from the city went to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged him to leave their territory.
34 Então a cidade toda saiu para encontrar-se com Jesus. E, ao vê-lo, pediram-lhe com insistência que se retirasse da terra deles.
