1 This is the written account of Adam and his descendants.

24 Enoch walked with God; then he was gone because God took him.

25 When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech.
25 Metusalém viveu cento e oitenta e sete anos e gerou Lameque.
26 After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.

27 Methuselah lived a total of 969 years; then he died.

28 When Lamech was 182 years old, he became the father of a son.

29 He named him Noah [Relief], and said, “This child will bring us relief from the work and painful labor of our hands since the Lord has cursed the ground.”
