GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs NVT
1 Josiah was 8 years old when he began to rule, and he was king for 31 years in Jerusalem. His mother was Jedidah, daughter of Adaiah from Bozkath.
1 Josias tinha 8 anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou por 31 anos em Jerusalém. Sua mãe se chamava Jedida e era filha de Adaías, de Bozcate.
2 Josiah did what the Lord considered right. He lived in the ways of his ancestor David and never stopped.
2 Josias fez o que era certo aos olhos do S enhor e seguiu o exemplo de seu antepassado Davi, não se desviando nem para um lado nem para o outro.
3 In Josiah’s eighteenth year as king of Judah, he sent the scribe Shaphan, son of Azaliah and grandson of Meshullam, to the Lord’s temple with these instructions:
3 No décimo oitavo ano de seu reinado, o rei Josias enviou Safã, secretário da corte, filho de Azalias, filho de Mesulão, ao templo do S enhor . Disse-lhe:
4 “Go to the chief priest Hilkiah. Have him count the money that has been brought into the Lord’s temple, ⌞the money⌟ that the doorkeepers have collected from the people.
4 “Vá ao sumo sacerdote Hilquias e peça-lhe que pese a prata que os guardas das portas recolheram do povo no templo do S enhor .
5 Give ⌞some of⌟ it to the foremen who are in charge of the Lord’s temple. They should give it to the workmen who are making repairs on the Lord’s temple.
5 Entregue a prata aos homens encarregados de supervisionar a reforma do templo. Eles a usarão para pagar os trabalhadores que farão reparos no templo do S enhor .
6 (These workers include the carpenters, builders, and masons.) Also, use ⌞the rest of⌟ the money to buy lumber and quarried stones to repair the temple.
6 Precisarão de carpinteiros, construtores e pedreiros. Também deverão comprar a madeira e as pedras cortadas necessárias para os reparos no templo.
7 Since the workmen are honest, don’t require them to account for the money you give them.”
7 Contudo, não exija que os supervisores prestem contas do valor que receberam, pois são homens de confiança”.
8 The chief priest Hilkiah told the scribe Shaphan, “I have found the Book of Moses’ Teachings in the Lord’s temple.” Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, who then read it.
8 O sumo sacerdote Hilquias disse a Safã, secretário da corte: “Encontrei o Livro da Lei no templo do S enhor !”. E Hilquias entregou o livro a Safã, que o leu.
9 The scribe Shaphan went to the king and reported, “We have taken the money donated in the temple and have given it to the workmen who are in charge of the Lord’s temple.”
9 Safã voltou ao rei e relatou: “Seus oficiais entregaram a prata recolhida no templo do S enhor aos trabalhadores e supervisores no templo”.
10 Then the scribe Shaphan told the king, “The priest Hilkiah has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it to the king.
10 Safã também disse ao rei: “O sacerdote Hilquias me entregou um livro”. E Safã leu o livro para o rei.
11 When the king heard what the book of the Teachings said, he tore his clothes ⌞in distress⌟.
11 Quando o rei ouviu o que estava escrito no Livro da Lei, rasgou suas roupas.
12 Then the king gave an order to the priest Hilkiah, to Ahikam (son of Shaphan), Achbor (son of Micaiah), the scribe Shaphan, and the royal official Asaiah. He said,
12 Em seguida, deu estas ordens ao sacerdote Hilquias, a Aicam, filho de Safã, a Acbor, filho de Micaías, a Safã, o secretário da corte, e a Asaías, conselheiro pessoal do rei:
13 “On behalf of the people, all of Judah, and me, ask the Lord about the words in this book that has been found. The Lord’s fierce anger is directed towards us because our ancestors did not obey the things in this book or do everything written ⌞in it⌟.”
13 “Vão consultar o S enhor por mim, pelo povo e por todo o Judá. Perguntem a respeito das palavras escritas neste livro que foi encontrado. A grande ira do S enhor arde contra nós, pois nossos antepassados não obedeceram às palavras deste livro. Eles não fizeram tudo que ele diz que devemos fazer”.
14 So the priest Hilkiah, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to talk to the prophet Huldah. She was the wife of Shallum, son of Tikvah and grandson of Harhas. Shallum was in charge of the ⌞royal⌟ wardrobe. Huldah was living in the Second Part of Jerusalem.
14 Então o sacerdote Hilquias, Aicam, Acbor, Safã e Asaías foram ao Bairro Novo de Jerusalém consultar a profetisa Hulda. Ela era esposa de Salum, filho de Ticvá, filho de Harás, responsável pelo guarda-roupa do templo.
15 She told them, “This is what the Lord God of Israel says: Tell the man who sent you to me,
15 Ela lhes disse: “O S enhor , o Deus de Israel, falou! Voltem e digam ao homem que os enviou
16 ‘This is what the Lord says: I’m going to bring disaster on this place and on the people living here according to everything written in the book that the king of Judah has read.
16 que assim diz o S enhor : ‘Trarei desgraça sobre esta cidade e sobre seus habitantes. Todas as palavras escritas no livro que o rei de Judá leu se cumprirão.
17 I will do this because they have abandoned me and sacrificed to other gods in order to make me furious. Therefore, my burning anger directed at this place will never be extinguished.’ ”
17 Pois meu povo me abandonou e queimou incenso a outros deuses, e estou grandemente irado com eles por tudo que fizeram. Minha ira arderá contra este lugar e não será apagada’.
18 ⌞Huldah added,⌟ “But tell Judah’s king who sent you to me to ask the Lord a question, ‘This is what the Lord God of Israel says about the words you heard:
18 “Mas vão ao rei de Judá que os enviou para consultarem o S enhor e digam-lhe que assim diz o S enhor a respeito da mensagem que acabaram de ouvir:
19 You had a change of heart and humbled yourself in front of the Lord when you heard my words against this place and those who live here. I had said that those who live here will be destroyed and cursed. You also tore your clothes ⌞in distress⌟ and cried in front of me. So I will listen ⌞to you⌟, declares the Lord.
19 ‘Você se arrependeu e se humilhou diante do S enhor quando ouviu o que eu disse contra esta cidade e contra seus habitantes, que esta terra seria amaldiçoada e se tornaria desolada. Você rasgou as roupas e chorou diante de mim. E eu certamente o ouvi, diz o S enhor .
20 That is why I’m going to bring you to your ancestors. I’m going to bring you to your grave in peace, and your eyes will not see any of the disaster I’m going to bring on this place.’ ”
20 Portanto, só enviarei a calamidade anunciada depois que você tiver se reunido a seus antepassados e tiver sido sepultado em paz. Você não verá a desgraça que trarei sobre esta cidade’”. Então eles levaram a mensagem ao rei.
