1 When Judah finished his story, Joseph could not stop himself from crying, and so he said to his workers, “Please leave me alone with these men.” Then after all his workers had left the room, Joseph told his brothers who he really was.
1 Então José não se podia conter diante de todos os que estavam com ele; e clamou: Fazei sair daqui a todo o homem; e ninguém ficou com ele, quando José se deu a conhecer a seus irmãos.
2 He cried, and he made so much noise that his workers heard him and everyone who worked in the government building heard about it. Joseph let his brothers know who he really was|src="lll2-11 Joseph and 11 brothers.tif" size="col" copy="Global Recordings Network" ref="45:2"
2 E levantou a sua voz com choro, de maneira que os egípcios o ouviam, e a casa de Faraó o ouviu.
3 Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph. Is my father still alive?” But his brothers were so frightened, they could not say anything.
3 E disse José a seus irmãos: Eu sou José; vive ainda meu pai? E seus irmãos não lhe puderam responder, porque estavam pasmados diante da sua face.
4 So Joseph said to them, “It's alright, come close to me.” And when they came close, he said to them again, “I am Joseph, your brother. You sold me as a slave to those Ishmaelite men and they led me here to Egypt.
4 E disse José a seus irmãos: Peço-vos, chegai-vos a mim. E chegaram-se; então disse ele: Eu sou José vosso irmão, a quem vendestes para o Egito.
5 But do not be frightened or angry at yourselves for selling me, God sent me here to save the lives of a lot of people.
5 Agora, pois, não vos entristeçais, nem vos pese aos vossos olhos por me haverdes vendido para cá; porque para conservação da vida, Deus me enviou adiante de vós.
6 This country has not grown any food for 2 years and no food will grow for another 5 years.
6 Porque já houve dois anos de fome no meio da terra, e ainda restam cinco anos em que não haverá lavoura nem sega.
7 God sent me here to make a way for your families to stay alive.
7 Pelo que Deus me enviou adiante de vós, para conservar vossa sucessão na terra, e para guardar-vos em vida por um grande livramento.
8 So then, you didn't send me here, God did. And he has made me the most important person that works for Pharaoh. I am like a father for Pharaoh. I look after him and I am the boss of the government and I am the boss over the whole country of Egypt.
8 Assim não fostes vós que me enviastes para cá, senão Deus, que me tem posto por pai de Faraó, e por senhor de toda a sua casa, e como regente em toda a terra do Egito.
9 I want you to go home to my father as fast as you can and say to him, ‘Your son Joseph said, “God has made me the boss over all of Egypt. You have to come to Egypt as fast as you can.
9 Apressai-vos, e subi a meu pai, e dizei-lhe: Assim tem dito o teu filho José: Deus me tem posto por senhor em toda a terra do Egito; desce a mim, e não te demores;
10 I want you to come and live in a place called Goshen. Bring all your children and grandchildren, all your animals and everything you have so that you can all live near me.
10 E habitarás na terra de Gósen, e estarás perto de mim, tu e os teus filhos, e os filhos dos teus filhos, e as tuas ovelhas, e as tuas vacas, e tudo o que tens.
11 There is going to be another 5 years when no food will grow, but I will look after you so that you and all your family will have all the food you need.” ’”
11 E ali te sustentarei, porque ainda haverá cinco anos de fome, para que não pereças de pobreza, tu e tua casa, e tudo o que tens.
12 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “You can see for yourselves, and so can Benjamin, that I am your brother Joseph.
12 E eis que vossos olhos, e os olhos de meu irmão Benjamim, vêem que é minha boca que vos fala.
13 So tell my father how powerful I am here in Egypt. Tell him everything you have seen and heard. Quick, go and bring him here to me.”
13 E fazei saber a meu pai toda a minha glória no Egito, e tudo o que tendes visto, e apressai-vos a fazer descer meu pai para cá.
14 Joseph put his arms around Benjamin and they cried together.
14 E lançou-se ao pescoço de Benjamim seu irmão, e chorou; e Benjamim chorou também ao seu pescoço.
15 Joseph cried and kissed all his brothers, and they all sat down to talk.
15 E beijou a todos os seus irmãos, e chorou sobre eles; e depois seus irmãos falaram com ele.
16 When Pharaoh the king of Egypt and all his helpers heard that Joseph's brothers were in Egypt they were all happy for Joseph.
16 E esta notícia ouviu-se na casa de Faraó: Os irmãos de José são vindos; e pareceu bem aos olhos de Faraó, e aos olhos de seus servos.
17 The king said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers to put bags of food onto their donkeys and go back to Canaan.
17 E disse Faraó a José: Dize a teus irmãos: Fazei isto: carregai os vossos animais e parti, tornai à terra de Canaã.
18 Tell them to bring their father and all their families back to me. I will give them the best land that I can find in Egypt and they will have the best food that we can give them.
18 E tornai a vosso pai, e às vossas famílias, e vinde a mim; e eu vos darei o melhor da terra do Egito, e comereis da fartura da terra.
19 Joseph, give them some of our wagons. That way the women and children can ride in them when they come to Egypt. And make sure your father comes with them.
19 A ti, pois, é ordenado: Fazei isto: tomai vós da terra do Egito carros para vossos meninos, para vossas mulheres, e para vosso pai, e vinde.
20 Tell them not to worry if they have to leave some of their things behind. We will give them new things, they will be the best things we have here in Egypt.”
20 E não vos pese coisa alguma dos vossos utensílios; porque o melhor de toda a terra do Egito será vosso.
21 So Jacob's sons did what Pharaoh said. And Joseph gave them wagons and food for the trip.
21 E os filhos de Israel fizeram assim. E José deu-lhes carros, conforme o mandado de Faraó; também lhes deu comida para o caminho.
22 He gave each of his brothers one lot of new clothes, but he gave Benjamin 5 lots of clothes and a really big bag full of silver money.
22 A todos lhes deu, a cada um, mudas de roupas; mas a Benjamim deu trezentas peças de prata, e cinco mudas de roupas.
23 Joseph sent his father some presents too. He sent 10 donkeys loaded with good things from Egypt and 10 girl donkeys with bags of seeds and bread and all the food they would need for the trip back to Canaan. And Joseph sent even more food for when everybody had to travel back to Egypt.
23 E a seu pai enviou semelhantemente dez jumentos carregados do melhor do Egito, e dez jumentos carregados de trigo e pão, e comida para seu pai, para o caminho.
24 Then before he sent his brothers away, he said, “Do not argue as you go home.”
24 E despediu os seus irmãos, e partiram; e disse-lhes: Não contendais pelo caminho.
25 And so, the brothers left Egypt and went home to their father Jacob in Canaan.
25 E subiram do Egito, e vieram à terra de Canaã, a Jacó seu pai.
26 They said to their father, “Joseph is alive, and he is the boss over all of Egypt.” Jacob was shocked and did not believe them.
26 Então lhe anunciaram, dizendo: José ainda vive, e ele também é regente em toda a terra do Egito. E o seu coração desmaiou, porque não os acreditava.
27 But when he heard everything that Joseph said, and saw all the wagons that Joseph had sent to carry them back to Egypt, he started to feel better.
27 Porém, havendo-lhe eles contado todas as palavras de José, que ele lhes falara, e vendo ele os carros que José enviara para levá-lo, reviveu o espírito de Jacó seu pai.
28 Then Israel, whose other name was Jacob, said, “I believe you now. My son Joseph is alive and I will go and see him before I die.”
28 E disse Israel: Basta; ainda vive meu filho José; eu irei e o verei antes que morra.
