1 It was 2 years later that Pharaoh, the king of Egypt had a dream. In his dream he saw himself standing next to the Nile River.
1 E aconteceu que, ao final de dois anos completos, Faraó sonhou. E eis que ele estava em pé junto ao rio.
2 He saw 7 cows come up out of the river. They were fat and looked really good, and they started to eat the river grass next to the water.
2 E eis que saíram do rio sete vacas gordas e de formoso aspecto, e pastavam na campina.
3 Then Pharaoh saw 7 more cows come out of the river. These cows were ugly and skinny. They were standing next to the other fat cows on the side of the river.
3 E eis que sete outras vacas saíram depois delas do rio, feias de aparência e magras, e estavam em pé junto às outras vacas sobre a margem do rio.
4 Then the 7 skinny, ugly cows ate up the 7 good looking fat cows. And the king woke up. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt had a dream|src="lll2-09 Pharaoh's dream cows.tif" size="col" copy="Global Recordings Network" ref="41:4"
4 E as vacas feias de aparência e magras, comeram as sete vacas gordas e de formoso aspecto. Então Faraó acordou.
5 He went back to sleep again and had a second dream. This time he saw a long piece of grass, and it had 7 bunches of seeds on the top and they were fat and looked really good to eat.
5 E ele dormiu e sonhou uma segunda vez. E eis que sete espigas de trigo brotaram de um mesmo talo, cheias e boas.
6 Then he saw another long piece of grass, but the 7 bunches of seeds on top of this grass looked thin and weak. They looked like they were burnt by the hot east wind.
6 E eis que sete espigas miúdas e queimadas do vento oriental brotavam depois delas.
7 Then the weak thin bunches of seeds, ate the good looking fat seeds. When Pharaoh woke up he knew it was a dream.
7 E as sete espigas miúdas devoraram as sete espigas cheias e boas. E Faraó acordou, e eis que era um sonho.
8 In the morning the king was upset. He was worried what the dreams were all about. And so he sent messengers all over Egypt to get all the clever men and men that could understand dreams to come to a meeting. He told them what he saw in his dreams, but none of them could tell him the meaning of those dreams.
8 E aconteceu que, de manhã, seu espírito estava perturbado, e ele enviou e chamou todos os magos do Egito, e todos os homens sábios de lá. E Faraó lhes contou o seu sonho, mas não houve um que pudesse interpretá-lo para Faraó.
9 The man who gave the king his wine said, “O King, I have just remembered that I have broken a promise I made to someone.
9 Então, falou o chefe dos mordomos a Faraó, dizendo: Lembro-me hoje das minhas falhas.
10 You were angry with your baker and me 2 years ago and put us in jail.
10 Faraó estava irado com seus servos, e me colocou na prisão da casa do capitão da guarda, a mim e o chefe dos padeiros;
11 One night, the baker and I both had dreams but our dreams were different. And we did not know the meaning of those dreams.
11 e nós sonhamos um sonho certa noite, eu e ele. Sonhamos cada homem de acordo com a interpretação do seu sonho.
12 But there was a young Hebrew man who worked for the boss of the jail. When we told him our dreams, he told us the meaning.
12 E havia lá conosco um jovem, um hebreu, servo do capitão da guarda. E nós lhe contamos, e ele nos interpretou nossos sonhos, para cada homem de acordo com o seu sonho ele interpretou.
13 And what he said came true. I got my job back and the baker was killed and his body put up on a tree.”
13 E aconteceu que, assim como ele interpretou para nós, assim foi. A mim ele restabeleceu para o meu ofício, e a ele enforcou.
14 When Pharaoh heard this, he sent someone to get Joseph. They took him out of the jail, and after he shaved his face and put on clean clothes, they took him to talk to the king.
14 Então, Faraó enviou e chamou José, e eles o trouxeram apressadamente da masmorra. E ele se barbeou, e mudou as suas vestes, e veio a Faraó.
15 The king said to Joseph, “I had a dream, but no-one can tell me what it means. Someone said that you can do that.”
15 E Faraó disse a José: Sonhei um sonho, e não há ninguém que o possa interpretar. E eu ouvi dizer de ti, que tu podes entender um sonho e interpretá-lo.
16 But Joseph said to the king, “I cannot tell people what their dreams mean, but God can help me do that.”
16 E José respondeu a Faraó, dizendo: Não está em mim; Deus dará a Faraó uma resposta de paz.
17 So Pharaoh told Joseph what he saw in his dream.
17 E Faraó disse a José: No meu sonho, eis que eu estava em pé na margem do rio,
18 I saw 7 cows come up out of the river. They were fat and looked really good. They started to eat the river grass next to the water.
18 e eis que saíram do rio sete vacas gordas e de formoso aspecto, e pastavam na campina.
19 Then I saw 7 more cows come out of the river. These cows were ugly and skinny. I have never seen such thin and ugly cows in all of Egypt.
19 E eis que sete outras vacas saíram depois delas, feias de aparência e magras, tais como eu nunca vi em toda a terra do Egito, quanto à fealdade.
20 The skinny, ugly cows ate up the 7 good looking fat cows that came out of the river first.
20 E as vacas magras e feias à vista comeram as primeiras sete vacas gordas.
21 But then I saw that after the skinny cows ate the fat cows, they stayed skinny and ugly and no-one would know that they had eaten the other 7 cows. Then I woke up.
21 E quando as haviam comido, não se podia saber que as haviam comido, mas ainda eram feias à vista, como no início. Então eu acordei.
22 I went to sleep again and had a second dream, but this time I saw a long piece of grass. It had 7 bunches of seeds on the top and they were fat and looked really good.
22 E eu vi no meu sonho, e eis que sete espigas brotaram de um talo, cheias e boas.
23 Then I saw another long piece of grass, but the 7 bunches of seeds on top looked thin and weak. They looked like they were burnt by the hot east wind.
23 E eis que sete espigas secas, miúdas e queimadas do vento oriental brotaram depois delas.
24 Then the weak, thin bunches of seeds ate up the 7 good looking seeds. And I woke up.
24 E as espigas miúdas devoraram as sete espigas boas. E eu contei isso aos magos, mas não houve ninguém que pudesse interpretá-lo para mim.
25 Joseph said to Pharaoh, the king, “Both your dreams mean the same thing, and God is telling you what he is going to do.
25 E José disse a Faraó: O sonho de Faraó é um: Deus mostrou a Faraó o que ele está para fazer.
26 The 7 good looking cows and the 7 good bunches of seeds are pictures of the same thing. They are pictures of 7 good years that are coming.
26 As sete vacas boas são sete anos, e as sete espigas boas são sete anos; o sonho é um.
27 The 7 skinny ugly cows and the 7 thin weak bunches of seeds that look like the hot east wind has burnt them, are pictures of the same thing. They are pictures of 7 bad years that will come after the 7 good years.
27 E as sete vacas magras e feias à vista que saíram depois delas são sete anos, e as sete espigas vazias queimadas do vento oriental serão sete anos de fome.
28 God is telling you what he is going to do, and it will happen just like I said.
28 Isto é o que eu tenho para falar a Faraó: O que Deus está prestes a fazer, ele mostrou a Faraó.
29 You and all the people in Egypt are going to have 7 good years. All your animals will get fat and all your food plants will grow a lot of seeds. Everyone in Egypt will have a lot to eat.
29 Eis que vêm sete anos de grande fartura em toda a terra do Egito;
30 When the 7 good years are over there will be 7 bad years. People will forget all about the 7 good years when everyone had a lot to eat. It will be like the bad years ate all the good years. Then nothing will grow in the whole country.
30 e depois deles surgirão sete anos de fome, e toda a fartura será esquecida na terra do Egito; e a fome consumirá a terra,
31 Yes, the 7 bad years will be so hard for everyone, that they will forget the good years.
31 e a fartura não será conhecida na terra por causa da fome que se seguirá, pois esta será muito grave.
32 God gave you those 2 dreams to let you know what he is going to do. And he will make it happen soon.
32 E por isso, o sonho foi repetido a Faraó duas vezes; é porque a coisa está estabelecida por Deus, e Deus em breve a fará acontecer.
33 I have told you God's message and so it would be good for you to find a man who knows what to do. You should make that man the boss over the whole country of Egypt.
33 Agora faça Faraó encontrar um homem prudente e sábio, e o coloque sobre a terra do Egito.
34 And you Pharaoh, should pick leaders from every part of the country to help that man do his job.
34 Que Faraó o faça, e que ele nomeie oficiais sobre a terra, e que recolham uma quinta parte da terra do Egito nos sete anos de fartura.
35 Then the leaders have to take those bags of seeds and put them into big government sheds in every town. And put soldiers around those sheds.
35 E ajuntem eles todo o alimento desses bons anos que vêm, e amontoem trigo sob a mão de Faraó, e que eles guardem alimento nas cidades.
36 This food must be kept safe until the 7 bad years come. That way, when the country does not grow any food, your people will not get too hungry and die.”
36 E esse alimento será para o provimento da terra durante os sete anos de fome que haverá na terra do Egito, para que a terra não pereça de fome.
37 Pharaoh and all the men who worked for him had a meeting and they all liked Joseph's plan.
37 E a coisa foi boa aos olhos de Faraó e aos olhos de todos os seus servos.
38 Pharaoh said to them, “I do not think we can find a better man than Joseph to do that job. I can see that God's spirit has told him what to do.”
38 E Faraó disse a seus servos: Acharemos alguém como este, um homem em quem está o Espírito de Deus?
39 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I can see that God has told you what to do. God has made you understand the problem. No-one else can do the job better than you can.
39 E Faraó disse a José: Visto que Deus te mostrou tudo isto, não há ninguém tão prudente e sábio como tu és.
40 I am putting you in charge of my house and my government. Everyone in all of Egypt has to do what you tell them. But remember, I am still the king. I am still your boss.”
40 Tu estarás sobre a minha casa, de acordo com tua palavra todo o meu povo será governado; somente no trono eu serei maior do que tu.
41 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Joseph. You are now the boss over the whole country of Egypt.”
41 E Faraó disse a José: Vê! Coloquei-te sobre toda a terra do Egito.
42 Pharaoh had a ring that had special marks on it. He used this ring to put his special mark on papers to prove that he had written them. Pharaoh took that ring off his finger and put it on Joseph's finger to show that Joseph was working for him. And he gave Joseph really nice clothes to wear and put a gold chain around his neck.
42 E Faraó tomou seu anel da sua mão e o colocou sobre a mão de José, e o vestiu com vestes de linho fino, e colocou um colar de ouro em volta do seu pescoço,
43 Pharaoh gave Joseph a chariot to ride in. A chariot is a war wagon pulled by horses. The king did this to show that Joseph was the second boss over Egypt. And from that time, everywhere Joseph went in his chariot, soldiers walked in front of him, shouting out to the people in the street, “Move off the road, and bow down to Joseph.” Joseph was the second boss over all Egypt|src="CO00756B.TIF" size="col" copy="David Cook" ref="41:43"
43 e o fez subir na segunda carruagem que ele tinha, e clamavam adiante dele: Ajoelhai; e ele o fez governador sobre toda a terra do Egito.
44 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, I am the king, but before anyone in Egypt does anything, they have to ask you first.”
44 E Faraó disse a José: Eu sou Faraó, e sem ti nenhum homem levantará sua mão ou pé em toda a terra do Egito.
45 And Pharaoh gave Joseph another name. He named him Zafen-ath-Pan-ay-ah and gave him a wife named As-en-ath. Her father was named Potifera, who was an Egyptian ceremony man from a town called On.
45 E Faraó chamou o nome de José Zafenate-Paneia, e lhe deu por mulher Azenate, a filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om. E José saiu por toda a terra do Egito.
46 Joseph was 30 years old when he started to work for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. He did not stay in one place but went everywhere in Egypt to see that people were doing the right thing.
46 E José estava com trinta anos de idade quando estava diante de Faraó, rei do Egito. E José saiu da presença de Faraó, e foi por toda a terra do Egito.
47 In the 7 good years, the whole country grew a lot of food.
47 E nos sete anos de fartura a terra produziu aos montões.
48 Every time food was grown, the farmers had to give some of their bags of seeds to the men that worked for Joseph. The workers took the bags of seeds and put them into the government sheds to keep them safe.
48 E ele ajuntou todo o alimento dos sete anos, que havia na terra do Egito, e armazenou o alimento nas cidades. O alimento do campo, que estava ao redor de cada cidade, ele armazenou da mesma forma.
49 The workers stored so many bags of seeds they stopped counting them. There were just too many.
49 E José ajuntou trigo como a areia do mar, muitíssimo, até ele perder a conta, pois era sem número.
50 Before the bad years came, As-en-ath, the daughter of Potifera, the ceremony man in On, gave Joseph 2 sons.
50 E a José nasceram dois filhos, antes de virem os anos da fome, que Azenate, a filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om, lhe deu.
51 Joseph named the first son Manasseh and said, “God has made me forget all my troubles, and I have even forgotten that I miss my family. And that is why l have called him that name.”
51 E José chamou o nome do primeiro Manassés, pois Deus, disse ele, me fez esquecer todo o meu labor, e toda a casa de meu pai.
52 And he named his second son, Efraim and said, “I have had a hard time in this country, but God has been good to me and given me children.”
52 E o nome do segundo chamou Efraim, pois Deus me fez ser frutífero na terra da minha aflição.

53 E os sete anos de fartura, que houve na terra do Egito, terminaram.

54 E os sete anos de escassez começaram, de acordo com o que José havia dito; e a escassez estava em todas as terras, mas em toda a terra do Egito havia pão.
55 Later on, the people in Egypt had nothing to eat and so they asked Pharaoh for food. But Pharaoh said, “Go and see Joseph. He will tell you what to do.”
55 E quando toda a terra do Egito teve fome, o povo clamou a Faraó por pão; e Faraó disse a todos os egípcios: Ide a José; o que ele lhes disser, fazei.
56 When all the Egyptians were hungry and the bad years got worse, Joseph opened the government sheds and sold the food to the Egyptians.
56 E a fome estava sobre toda a face da terra, e José abriu todos os depósitos, e vendeu aos egípcios, e a fome aumentou muito na terra do Egito.
57 All the countries around Egypt were having a hard time too, and when they heard that Egypt had food, they went to Joseph to buy seeds.
57 E todas as regiões vinham ao Egito, a José para comprar trigo, porque a fome era tão grande em todas as terras.
