1 It was 2 years later that Pharaoh, the king of Egypt had a dream. In his dream he saw himself standing next to the Nile River.
1 Passados dois anos inteiros, Faraó sonhou que estava em pé junto ao rio Nilo;
2 He saw 7 cows come up out of the river. They were fat and looked really good, and they started to eat the river grass next to the water.
2 e eis que subiam do rio sete vacas, formosas à vista e gordas de carne, e pastavam no carriçal.
3 Then Pharaoh saw 7 more cows come out of the river. These cows were ugly and skinny. They were standing next to the other fat cows on the side of the river.
3 Após elas subiam do rio outras sete vacas, feias à vista e magras de carne; e paravam junto às outras vacas à beira do Nilo.
4 Then the 7 skinny, ugly cows ate up the 7 good looking fat cows. And the king woke up. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt had a dream|src="lll2-09 Pharaoh's dream cows.tif" size="col" copy="Global Recordings Network" ref="41:4"
4 E as vacas feias à vista e magras de carne devoravam as sete formosas à vista e gordas. Então Faraó acordou.
5 He went back to sleep again and had a second dream. This time he saw a long piece of grass, and it had 7 bunches of seeds on the top and they were fat and looked really good to eat.
5 Depois dormiu e tornou a sonhar; e eis que brotavam dum mesmo pé sete espigas cheias e boas.
6 Then he saw another long piece of grass, but the 7 bunches of seeds on top of this grass looked thin and weak. They looked like they were burnt by the hot east wind.
6 Após elas brotavam sete espigas miúdas e queimadas do vento oriental;
7 Then the weak thin bunches of seeds, ate the good looking fat seeds. When Pharaoh woke up he knew it was a dream.
7 e as espigas miúdas devoravam as sete espigas grandes e cheias. Então Faraó acordou, e eis que era um sonho.
8 In the morning the king was upset. He was worried what the dreams were all about. And so he sent messengers all over Egypt to get all the clever men and men that could understand dreams to come to a meeting. He told them what he saw in his dreams, but none of them could tell him the meaning of those dreams.
8 Pela manhã o seu espírito estava perturbado; pelo que mandou chamar todos os adivinhadores do Egito, e todos os seus sábios. Faraó contou-lhes os seus sonhos, mas não havia quem lhos interpretasse. Estavam no cárcere da casa de seu senhor, dizendo vossos semblantes tão tristes hoje?
9 The man who gave the king his wine said, “O King, I have just remembered that I have broken a promise I made to someone.
9 Então disse o copeiro-mor a Faraó: Das minhas faltas me lembro hoje:
10 You were angry with your baker and me 2 years ago and put us in jail.
10 Faraó estava muito indignado contra os seus servos, e entregou-me à prisão na casa do capitão da guarda, a mim e ao padeiro chefe.
11 One night, the baker and I both had dreams but our dreams were different. And we did not know the meaning of those dreams.
11 Então tivemos um sonho na mesma noite, eu e ele, e cada sonho com sua própria interpretação.
12 But there was a young Hebrew man who worked for the boss of the jail. When we told him our dreams, he told us the meaning.
12 Estava ali conosco um moço hebreu, servo do capitão da guarda, e contamos-lhe os sonhos, e ele interpretou os nossos sonhos, a cada um interpretou conforme o seu sonho.
13 And what he said came true. I got my job back and the baker was killed and his body put up on a tree.”
13 E conforme a sua interpretação, assim mesmo aconteceu: eu fui restituído ao meu cargo, e ele foi enforcado.
14 When Pharaoh heard this, he sent someone to get Joseph. They took him out of the jail, and after he shaved his face and put on clean clothes, they took him to talk to the king.
14 Então Faraó mandou chamar a José, e o fizeram sair apressadamente da masmorra. Ele se barbeou, mudou de roupa e apresentou-se a Faraó.
15 The king said to Joseph, “I had a dream, but no-one can tell me what it means. Someone said that you can do that.”
15 Disse Faraó a José: Eu tive um sonho e não há quem o interprete. Mas de ti ouvi dizer que, ouvindo contar um sonho, podes interpretá-lo.
16 But Joseph said to the king, “I cannot tell people what their dreams mean, but God can help me do that.”
16 Respondeu José a Faraó: Isso não está em mim, mas Deus é que dará uma resposta de paz a Faraó.
17 So Pharaoh told Joseph what he saw in his dream.
17 Então disse Faraó a José: Em meu sonho eu estava em pé à beira do rio Nilo,
18 I saw 7 cows come up out of the river. They were fat and looked really good. They started to eat the river grass next to the water.
18 e subiam do rio sete vacas gordas e formosas à vista, e pastavam entre os juncos.
19 Then I saw 7 more cows come out of the river. These cows were ugly and skinny. I have never seen such thin and ugly cows in all of Egypt.
19 Após elas subiam outras sete vacas, fracas, muito feias à vista e magras de carne, tão feias quais nunca vi em toda terra do Egito.
20 The skinny, ugly cows ate up the 7 good looking fat cows that came out of the river first.
20 As vacas magras e feias devoravam as primeiras sete vacas gordas.
21 But then I saw that after the skinny cows ate the fat cows, they stayed skinny and ugly and no-one would know that they had eaten the other 7 cows. Then I woke up.
21 Mas depois de as terem consumido, não se podia reconhecer que as houvessem consumido; a sua aparência era tão feia como no princípio. Então acordei.
22 I went to sleep again and had a second dream, but this time I saw a long piece of grass. It had 7 bunches of seeds on the top and they were fat and looked really good.
22 Depois vi, em meu sonho, que de um mesmo pé subiam sete espigas cheias e boas.
23 Then I saw another long piece of grass, but the 7 bunches of seeds on top looked thin and weak. They looked like they were burnt by the hot east wind.
23 Após elas brotavam sete espigas secas, miúdas e queimadas do vento oriental.
24 Then the weak, thin bunches of seeds ate up the 7 good looking seeds. And I woke up.
24 As sete espigas miúdas devoravam as sete espigas boas. Contei-o aos magos, mas não houve quem o interpretasse.
25 Joseph said to Pharaoh, the king, “Both your dreams mean the same thing, and God is telling you what he is going to do.
25 Então disse José a Faraó: O sonho de Faraó é um só. O que Deus há de fazer, notificou-o a Faraó.
26 The 7 good looking cows and the 7 good bunches of seeds are pictures of the same thing. They are pictures of 7 good years that are coming.
26 As sete vacas boas são sete anos, e as sete espigas boas também são sete anos; o sonho é um só.
27 The 7 skinny ugly cows and the 7 thin weak bunches of seeds that look like the hot east wind has burnt them, are pictures of the same thing. They are pictures of 7 bad years that will come after the 7 good years.
27 As sete vacas magras e feias que subiam após as primeiras, são sete anos, como as sete espigas miúdas e queimadas do vento oriental: são sete anos de fome.
28 God is telling you what he is going to do, and it will happen just like I said.
28 Esta é a palavra que eu disse a Faraó: o que Deus há de fazer mostro-o a Faraó.
29 You and all the people in Egypt are going to have 7 good years. All your animals will get fat and all your food plants will grow a lot of seeds. Everyone in Egypt will have a lot to eat.
29 Vêm sete anos de grande fartura em toda terra do Egito.
30 When the 7 good years are over there will be 7 bad years. People will forget all about the 7 good years when everyone had a lot to eat. It will be like the bad years ate all the good years. Then nothing will grow in the whole country.
30 Depois deles levantar-se-ão sete anos de fome, e toda aquela fartura será esquecida na terra do Egito, e a fome consumirá a terra.
31 Yes, the 7 bad years will be so hard for everyone, that they will forget the good years.
31 Não será conhecida a abundância na terra, por causa daquela fome que seguirá; porquanto será gravíssima.
32 God gave you those 2 dreams to let you know what he is going to do. And he will make it happen soon.
32 Ora, se o sonho foi duplicado a Faraó, é porque esta coisa é determinada por Deus, e ele brevemente a fará.
33 I have told you God's message and so it would be good for you to find a man who knows what to do. You should make that man the boss over the whole country of Egypt.
33 Portanto, proveja-se agora Faraó de um homem entendido e sábio, e o ponha sobre a terra do Egito.
34 And you Pharaoh, should pick leaders from every part of the country to help that man do his job.
34 Faça isto Faraó: nomeie administradores sobre a terra, que tomem a quinta parte dos produtos da terra do Egito nos sete anos de fartura;
35 Then the leaders have to take those bags of seeds and put them into big government sheds in every town. And put soldiers around those sheds.
35 e ajuntem eles todo o mantimento destes bons anos que vêm, e amontoem trigo debaixo da mão de Faraó, para mantimento nas cidades e o guardem;
36 This food must be kept safe until the 7 bad years come. That way, when the country does not grow any food, your people will not get too hungry and die.”
36 assim será o mantimento para provimento da terra, para os sete anos de fome, que haverá na terra do Egito; para que a terra não pereça de fome.
37 Pharaoh and all the men who worked for him had a meeting and they all liked Joseph's plan.
37 Esse parecer foi bom aos olhos de Faraó, e aos olhos de todos os seus servos.
38 Pharaoh said to them, “I do not think we can find a better man than Joseph to do that job. I can see that God's spirit has told him what to do.”
38 Perguntou, pois, Faraó a seus servos: Poderíamos achar um homem como este, em quem haja o espírito de Deus?
39 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I can see that God has told you what to do. God has made you understand the problem. No-one else can do the job better than you can.
39 Depois disse Faraó a José: Porquanto Deus te fez saber tudo isto, ninguém há tão entendido e sábio como tu.
40 I am putting you in charge of my house and my government. Everyone in all of Egypt has to do what you tell them. But remember, I am still the king. I am still your boss.”
40 Tu estarás sobre a minha casa, e por tua voz se governará todo o meu povo; somente no trono eu serei maior que tu.
41 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Joseph. You are now the boss over the whole country of Egypt.”
41 Disse mais Faraó a José: Vê, eu te hei posto sobre toda a terra do Egito.
42 Pharaoh had a ring that had special marks on it. He used this ring to put his special mark on papers to prove that he had written them. Pharaoh took that ring off his finger and put it on Joseph's finger to show that Joseph was working for him. And he gave Joseph really nice clothes to wear and put a gold chain around his neck.
42 E Faraó tirou da mão o seu anel-sinete e pô-lo na mão de José, vestiu-o de traje de linho fino, e lhe pôs ao pescoço um colar de ouro.
43 Pharaoh gave Joseph a chariot to ride in. A chariot is a war wagon pulled by horses. The king did this to show that Joseph was the second boss over Egypt. And from that time, everywhere Joseph went in his chariot, soldiers walked in front of him, shouting out to the people in the street, “Move off the road, and bow down to Joseph.” Joseph was the second boss over all Egypt|src="CO00756B.TIF" size="col" copy="David Cook" ref="41:43"
43 Ademais, fê-lo subir ao seu segundo carro, e clamavam diante dele: Ajoelhai-vos. Assim Faraó o constituiu sobre toda a terra do Egito.
44 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, I am the king, but before anyone in Egypt does anything, they have to ask you first.”
44 Ainda disse Faraó a José: Eu sou Faraó; sem ti, pois, ninguém levantará a mão ou o pé em toda a terra do Egito.
45 And Pharaoh gave Joseph another name. He named him Zafen-ath-Pan-ay-ah and gave him a wife named As-en-ath. Her father was named Potifera, who was an Egyptian ceremony man from a town called On.
45 Faraó chamou a José Zafnate-Paneã, e deu-lhe por mulher Asenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om. Depois saiu José por toda a terra do Egito.
46 Joseph was 30 years old when he started to work for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. He did not stay in one place but went everywhere in Egypt to see that people were doing the right thing.
46 Ora, José era da idade de trinta anos, quando se apresentou a Faraó, rei do Egito. E saiu José da presença de Faraó e passou por toda a terra do Egito.
47 In the 7 good years, the whole country grew a lot of food.
47 Durante os sete anos de fartura a terra produziu com abundância;
48 Every time food was grown, the farmers had to give some of their bags of seeds to the men that worked for Joseph. The workers took the bags of seeds and put them into the government sheds to keep them safe.
48 e José ajuntou todo o mantimento dos sete anos, que houve na terra do Egito, e o guardou nas cidades; o mantimento do campo que estava ao redor de cada cidade, guardou-o dentro da mesma.
49 The workers stored so many bags of seeds they stopped counting them. There were just too many.
49 Assim José ajuntou muitíssimo trigo, como a areia do mar, até que cessou de contar; porque não se podia mais contá-lo.
50 Before the bad years came, As-en-ath, the daughter of Potifera, the ceremony man in On, gave Joseph 2 sons.
50 Antes que viesse o ano da fome, nasceram a José dois filhos, que lhe deu Asenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om.
51 Joseph named the first son Manasseh and said, “God has made me forget all my troubles, and I have even forgotten that I miss my family. And that is why l have called him that name.”
51 E chamou José ao primogênito Manassés; porque disse: Deus me fez esquecer de todo o meu trabalho, e de toda a casa de meu pai.
52 And he named his second son, Efraim and said, “I have had a hard time in this country, but God has been good to me and given me children.”
52 Ao segundo chamou Efraim; porque disse: Deus me fez crescer na terra da minha aflição.
53 — ausente —
53 Acabaram-se, então, os sete anos de fartura que houve na terra do Egito;
54 — ausente —
54 e começaram a vir os sete anos de fome, como José tinha dito; e havia fome em todas as terras; porém, em toda a terra do Egito havia pão.
55 Later on, the people in Egypt had nothing to eat and so they asked Pharaoh for food. But Pharaoh said, “Go and see Joseph. He will tell you what to do.”
55 Depois toda a terra do Egito teve fome, e o povo clamou a Faraó por pão; e Faraó disse a todos os egípcios: Ide a José; o que ele vos disser, fazei.
56 When all the Egyptians were hungry and the bad years got worse, Joseph opened the government sheds and sold the food to the Egyptians.
56 De modo que, havendo fome sobre toda a terra, abriu José todos os depósitos, e vendia aos egípcios; porque a fome prevaleceu na terra do Egito.
57 All the countries around Egypt were having a hard time too, and when they heard that Egypt had food, they went to Joseph to buy seeds.
57 Também de todas as terras vinham ao Egito, para comprarem de José; porquanto a fome prevaleceu em todas as terras.
