1 “A psalm of David.” Contend, O LORD! with them that contend with me! Fight against them that fight against me!
1 Pleiteia, SENHOR, com aqueles que pleiteiam comigo; peleja contra os que pelejam contra mim.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, And stand up for my help!
2 Pega do escudo e da rodela, e levanta-te em minha ajuda.
3 Draw forth the spear and the axe against my persecutors; Say to me, “I am thy salvation.”
3 Tira da lança e obstrui o caminho aos que me perseguem; dize à minha alma: Eu sou a tua salvação.
4 May they be confounded and put to shame, who seek my life; May they be turned back with disgrace, who devise my hurt!
4 Sejam confundidos e envergonhados os que buscam a minha vida; voltem atrás e envergonhem-se os que contra mim tentam mal.
5 May they be like dust before the wind; May the angel of the LORD drive them!
5 Sejam como a moinha perante o vento; o anjo do Senhor os faça fugir.
6 May their way be dark and slippery, And may the angel of the LORD pursue them!
6 Seja o seu caminho tenebroso e escorregadio, e o anjo do Senhor os persiga.
7 For without cause they have laid for me a snare; Without cause they have digged for me a pit.
7 Porque sem causa encobriram de mim a rede na cova, a qual sem razão cavaram para a minha alma.
8 May unforeseen destruction come upon them! May the snare which they have laid lay hold on themselves, And may they fall into destruction!
8 Sobrevenha-lhe destruição sem o saber, e prenda-o a rede que ocultou; caia ele nessa mesma destruição.
9 Then shall my soul rejoice in the LORD; It shall exult in his protection.
9 E a minha alma se alegrará no Senhor; alegrar-se-á na sua salvação.
10 All my bones shall say, Who, O LORD! is like thee, Who dost rescue the afflicted from the oppressor, The afflicted and destitute from the spoiler?
10 Todos os meus ossos dirão: Senhor, quem é como tu, que livras o pobre daquele que é mais forte do que ele? Sim, o pobre e o necessitado daquele que o rouba.
11 False witnesses have risen up; They charge me with that which has not entered my mind.
11 Falsas testemunhas se levantaram; depuseram contra mim coisas que eu não sabia.
12 They repay me evil for good; They cause bereavement to my soul.
12 Tornaram-me o mal pelo bem, roubando a minha alma.
13 And yet I, during their sickness, clothed myself with sackcloth, And afflicted myself with fasting; And my prayer was turned to my bosom.
13 Mas, quanto a mim, quando estavam enfermos, as minhas vestes eram o saco; humilhava a minha alma com o jejum, e a minha oração voltava para o meu seio.
14 I behaved myself as if he had been my friend or brother; I bowed down in sadness, as one mourning for his mother.
14 Portava-me como se ele fora meu irmão ou amigo; andava lamentando e muito encurvado, como quem chora por sua mãe.
15 But at my fall they rejoice, and gather themselves together; Revilers whom I know not assemble themselves against me; They tear me without ceasing.
15 Mas eles com a minha adversidade se alegravam e se congregavam; os abjetos se congregavam contra mim, e eu não o sabia; rasgavam-me, e não cessavam.
16 With base men who mock for their bread, They gnash at me with their teeth.
16 Com hipócritas zombadores nas festas, rangiam os dentes contra mim.
17 How long, O LORD! wilt thou look on? O rescue my life from the destruction they plot for me; My precious life from these young lions!
17 Senhor, até quando verás isto? Resgata a minha alma das suas assolações, e a minha predileta dos leões.
18 I will thank thee in the great assembly! Before a numerous people I will praise thee.
18 Louvar-te-ei na grande congregação; entre muitíssimo povo te celebrarei.
19 Let not them that are my enemies wrongfully triumph over me; Let them not wink with the eye, who hate me without cause!
19 Não se alegrem os meus inimigos de mim sem razão, nem acenem com os olhos aqueles que me odeiam sem causa.
20 For they speak not peace; They devise deceit against them that are quiet in the land.
20 Pois não falam de paz; antes projetam enganar os quietos da terra.
21 Yea, they open their mouths wide against me; They say, “Aha, aha! our eyes seeth it.”
21 Abrem a boca de par em par contra mim, e dizem: Ah! Ah! os nossos olhos o viram.
22 Thou seest it, O LORD! be not silent! O LORD! be not far from me!
22 Tu, Senhor, o tens visto, não te cales; Senhor, não te alongues de mim:
23 Arouse thyself; awake for my defence! My God and my Lord, awake to my cause!
23 Desperta e acorda para o meu julgamento, para a minha causa, Deus meu e Senhor meu.
24 Judge me according to thy righteousness, O Jehovah, my God! Let them not triumph over me!
24 Julga-me segundo a tua justiça, Senhor Deus meu, e não deixes que se alegrem de mim.
25 Let them not say in their hearts, “Aha! we have our wish!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up!”
25 Não digam em seus corações: Ah! alma nossa! Não digam: Nós o havemos devorado.
26 May they all be confounded and brought to shame, Who rejoice at my calamity! May they be clothed with ignominy and disgrace, Who exalt themselves against me!
26 Envergonhem-se e confundam-se à uma os que se alegram com o meu mal; vistam-se de vergonha e de confusão os que se engrandecem contra mim.
27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; Let them ever say, “The LORD be praised, Who delighteth in the prosperity of his servant!”
27 Cantem e alegrem-se os que amam a minha justiça, e digam continuamente: O Senhor seja engrandecido, o qual ama a prosperidade do seu servo.
28 So shall my tongue speak of thy righteousness, And daily repeat thy praise.
28 E assim a minha língua falará da tua justiça e do teu louvor todo o dia.
