Hear|strong="H8085" ye now what the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* saith|strong="H0559"; Arise|strong="H6965", contend|strong="H7378" thou before the mountains|strong="H2022", and let the hills|strong="H1389" hear|strong="H8085" thy voice|strong="H6963".
Hear|strong="H8085" ye, O mountains|strong="H2022", the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* controversy|strong="H7379", and ye strong|strong="H0386" foundations|strong="H4146" of the earth|strong="H0776": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath a controversy|strong="H7379" with his people|strong="H5971", and he will plead|strong="H3198" with Israel|strong="H3478".
O my people|strong="H5971", what have I done|strong="H6213" unto thee? and wherein have I wearied|strong="H3811" thee? testify|strong="H6030" against me.
For I brought thee up|strong="H5927" out of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", and redeemed|strong="H6299" thee out of the house|strong="H1004" of servants|strong="H5650"; and I sent|strong="H7971" before|strong="H6440" thee Moses|strong="H4872", Aaron|strong="H0175", and Miriam|strong="H4813".
O my people|strong="H5971", remember|strong="H2142" now what Balak|strong="H1111" king|strong="H4428" of Moab|strong="H4124" consulted|strong="H3289", and what Balaam|strong="H1109" the son|strong="H1121" of Beor|strong="H1160" answered|strong="H6030" him from Shittim|strong="H7851" unto Gilgal|strong="H1537"; that ye may know|strong="H3045" the righteousness|strong="H6666" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
Wherewith shall I come before|strong="H6923" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and bow|strong="H3721" myself before the high|strong="H4791" God|strong="H0430"? shall I come before|strong="H6923" him with burnt offerings|strong="H5930", with calves|strong="H5695" of a year|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121"?
Will the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* be pleased|strong="H7521" with thousands|strong="H0505" of rams|strong="H0352", or with ten thousands|strong="H7233" of rivers|strong="H5158" of oil|strong="H8081"? shall I give|strong="H5414" my firstborn|strong="H1060" for my transgression|strong="H6588", the fruit|strong="H6529" of my body|strong="H0990" for the sin|strong="H2403" of my soul|strong="H5315"?
He hath shewed|strong="H5046" thee, O man|strong="H0120", what is good|strong="H2896"; and what doth the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* require|strong="H1875" of thee, but to do|strong="H6213" justly|strong="H4941", and to love|strong="H0160" mercy|strong="H2617", and to walk|strong="H3212" humbly|strong="H6800" with thy God|strong="H0430"?
The \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* voice|strong="H6963" crieth|strong="H7121" unto the city|strong="H5892", and the man of wisdom|strong="H8454" shall see|strong="H7200" thy name|strong="H8034": hear|strong="H8085" ye the rod|strong="H4294", and who hath appointed|strong="H3259" it.
Are there|strong="H0786" yet the treasures|strong="H0214" of wickedness|strong="H7562" in the house|strong="H1004" of the wicked|strong="H7563", and the scant|strong="H7332" measure|strong="H0374" that is abominable|strong="H2194"?
Shall I count them pure|strong="H2135" with the wicked|strong="H7562" balances|strong="H3976", and with the bag|strong="H3599" of deceitful|strong="H4820" weights|strong="H0068"?
For the rich men|strong="H6223" thereof are full|strong="H4390" of violence|strong="H2555", and the inhabitants|strong="H3427" thereof have spoken|strong="H1696" lies|strong="H8267", and their tongue|strong="H3956" is deceitful|strong="H7423" in their mouth|strong="H6310".
Therefore also will I make thee sick|strong="H2470" in smiting|strong="H5221" thee, in making thee desolate|strong="H8074" because of thy sins|strong="H2403".
Thou shalt eat|strong="H0398", but not be satisfied|strong="H7646"; and thy casting down|strong="H3445" shall be in the midst|strong="H7130" of thee; and thou shalt take hold|strong="H5253", but shalt not deliver|strong="H6403"; and that which thou deliverest|strong="H6403" will I give up|strong="H5414" to the sword|strong="H2719".
Thou shalt sow|strong="H2232", but thou shalt not reap|strong="H7114"; thou shalt tread|strong="H1869" the olives|strong="H2132", but thou shalt not anoint|strong="H5480" thee with oil|strong="H8081"; and sweet wine|strong="H8492", but shalt not drink|strong="H8354" wine|strong="H3196".
For the statutes|strong="H2708" of Omri|strong="H6018" are kept|strong="H8104", and all the works|strong="H4639" of the house|strong="H1004" of Ahab|strong="H0256", and ye walk|strong="H3212" in their counsels|strong="H4156"; that I should make|strong="H5414" thee a desolation|strong="H8047", and the inhabitants|strong="H3427" thereof an hissing|strong="H8322": therefore ye shall bear|strong="H5375" the reproach|strong="H2781" of my people|strong="H5971".
