1 And it came to pass a long|strong="H7227" time|strong="H3117" after|strong="H0310" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* had given rest|strong="H5117" unto Israel|strong="H3478" from all their enemies|strong="H0341" round about|strong="H5439", that Joshua|strong="H3091" waxed old|strong="H2204" and stricken|strong="H0935" in age|strong="H3117".
2 And Joshua|strong="H3091" called|strong="H7121" for all Israel|strong="H3478", and for their elders|strong="H2205", and for their heads|strong="H7218", and for their judges|strong="H8199", and for their officers|strong="H7860", and said|strong="H0559" unto them, I am old|strong="H2204" and stricken|strong="H0935" in age|strong="H3117":
3 And ye have seen|strong="H7200" all that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" hath done|strong="H6213" unto all these nations|strong="H1471" because|strong="H6440" of you; for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" is he that hath fought|strong="H3898" for you.
4 Behold|strong="H7200", I have divided|strong="H5307" unto you by lot these nations|strong="H1471" that remain|strong="H7604", to be an inheritance|strong="H5159" for your tribes|strong="H7626", from Jordan|strong="H3383", with all the nations|strong="H1471" that I have cut off|strong="H3772", even unto the great|strong="H1419" sea|strong="H3220" westward|strong="H3996".
5 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", he shall expel|strong="H1920" them from before|strong="H6440" you, and drive|strong="H3423" them from out of your sight|strong="H6440"; and ye shall possess|strong="H3423" their land|strong="H0776", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" hath promised|strong="H1696" unto you.
6 Be ye therefore very|strong="H3966" courageous|strong="H2388" to keep|strong="H8104" and to do|strong="H6213" all that is written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the law|strong="H8451" of Moses|strong="H4872", that ye turn|strong="H5493" not aside therefrom to the right hand|strong="H3225" or to the left|strong="H8040";
7 That ye come|strong="H0935" not among these nations|strong="H1471", these that remain|strong="H7604" among you; neither make mention|strong="H2142" of the name|strong="H8034" of their gods|strong="H0430", nor cause to swear|strong="H7650" by them, neither serve|strong="H5647" them, nor bow|strong="H7812" yourselves unto them:
8 But cleave|strong="H1692" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", as ye have done|strong="H6213" unto this day|strong="H3117".
9 For the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath driven out|strong="H3423" from before|strong="H6440" you great|strong="H1419" nations|strong="H1471" and strong|strong="H6099": but as for you, no man|strong="H0376" hath been able to stand|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" you unto this day|strong="H3117".
10 One|strong="H0259" man|strong="H0376" of you shall chase|strong="H7291" a thousand|strong="H0505": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", he it is that fighteth|strong="H3898" for you, as he hath promised|strong="H1696" you.
11 Take good|strong="H3966" heed|strong="H8104" therefore unto yourselves|strong="H5315", that ye love|strong="H0157" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430".
12 Else if ye do in any wise|strong="H7725" go back|strong="H7725", and cleave|strong="H1692" unto the remnant|strong="H3499" of these nations|strong="H1471", even these that remain|strong="H7604" among you, and shall make marriages|strong="H2859" with them, and go in|strong="H0935" unto them, and they to you:
13 Know|strong="H3045" for a certainty|strong="H3045" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" will no more|strong="H3254" drive out|strong="H3423" any of these nations|strong="H1471" from before|strong="H6440" you; but they shall be snares|strong="H6341" and traps|strong="H4170" unto you, and scourges|strong="H7850" in your sides|strong="H6654", and thorns|strong="H6796" in your eyes|strong="H5869", until ye perish|strong="H0006" from off this good|strong="H2896" land|strong="H0127" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" hath given|strong="H5414" you.
14 And, behold, this day|strong="H3117" I am going|strong="H1980" the way|strong="H1870" of all the earth|strong="H0776": and ye know|strong="H3045" in all your hearts|strong="H3824" and in all your souls|strong="H5315", that not one|strong="H0259" thing|strong="H1697" hath failed|strong="H5307" of all the good|strong="H2896" things|strong="H1697" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" spake|strong="H1696" concerning you; all are come to pass|strong="H0935" unto you, and not one|strong="H0259" thing|strong="H1697" hath failed|strong="H5307" thereof.
15 Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good|strong="H2896" things|strong="H1697" are come|strong="H0935" upon you, which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" promised|strong="H1696" you; so shall the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* bring|strong="H0935" upon you all evil|strong="H7451" things|strong="H1697", until he have destroyed|strong="H8045" you from off this good|strong="H2896" land|strong="H0127" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" hath given|strong="H5414" you.
16 When ye have transgressed|strong="H5674" the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", which he commanded|strong="H6680" you, and have gone|strong="H1980" and served|strong="H5647" other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430", and bowed|strong="H7812" yourselves to them; then shall the anger|strong="H0639" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* be kindled|strong="H2734" against you, and ye shall perish|strong="H0006" quickly|strong="H4120" from off the good|strong="H2896" land|strong="H0776" which he hath given|strong="H5414" unto you.
