Jeremias 52

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Zedekiah|strong="H6667" was one|strong="H0259" and twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and he reigned|strong="H4427" eleven|strong="H0259" years|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389". And his mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" was Hamutal|strong="H2537" the daughter|strong="H1323" of Jeremiah|strong="H3414" of Libnah|strong="H3841".

And he did|strong="H6213" that which was evil|strong="H7451" in the eyes|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, according to all that Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" had done|strong="H6213".

For through|strong="H5921" the anger|strong="H0639" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* it came to pass in Jerusalem|strong="H3389" and Judah|strong="H3063", till he had cast them out|strong="H7993" from his presence|strong="H6440", that Zedekiah|strong="H6667" rebelled|strong="H4775" against the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894".

And it came to pass in the ninth|strong="H8671" year|strong="H8141" of his reign|strong="H4427", in the tenth|strong="H6224" month|strong="H2320", in the tenth|strong="H6218" day of the month|strong="H2320", that Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" came|strong="H0935", he and all his army|strong="H2428", against Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and pitched|strong="H2583" against it, and built|strong="H1129" forts|strong="H1785" against it round about|strong="H5439".

So|strong="H0935" the city|strong="H5892" was besieged|strong="H4692" unto the eleventh|strong="H6249" year|strong="H8141" of king|strong="H4428" Zedekiah|strong="H6667".

And in the fourth|strong="H7243" month|strong="H2320", in the ninth|strong="H8672" day of the month|strong="H2320", the famine|strong="H7458" was sore|strong="H2388" in the city|strong="H5892", so that there was no bread|strong="H3899" for the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776".

Then the city|strong="H5892" was broken up|strong="H1234", and all the men|strong="H0582" of war|strong="H4421" fled|strong="H1272", and went forth|strong="H3318" out of the city|strong="H5892" by night|strong="H3915" by the way|strong="H1870" of the gate|strong="H8179" between the two walls|strong="H2346", which was by the king’s|strong="H4428" garden|strong="H1588"; (now the Chaldeans|strong="H3778" were by the city|strong="H5892" round about|strong="H5439":) and they went|strong="H3212" by the way|strong="H1870" of the plain|strong="H6160".

But the army|strong="H2428" of the Chaldeans|strong="H3778" pursued|strong="H7291" after|strong="H0310" the king|strong="H4428", and overtook|strong="H5381" Zedekiah|strong="H6667" in the plains|strong="H6160" of Jericho|strong="H3405"; and all his army|strong="H2428" was scattered|strong="H6327" from him.

Then they took|strong="H8610" the king|strong="H4428", and carried him up|strong="H5927" unto the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" to Riblah|strong="H7247" in the land|strong="H0776" of Hamath|strong="H2574"; where he gave|strong="H1696" judgment|strong="H4941" upon him.

And the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" slew|strong="H7819" the sons|strong="H1121" of Zedekiah|strong="H6667" before his eyes|strong="H5869": he slew|strong="H7819" also all the princes|strong="H8269" of Judah|strong="H3063" in Riblah|strong="H7247".

Then he put out|strong="H5786" the eyes|strong="H5869" of Zedekiah|strong="H6667"; and the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" bound|strong="H0631" him in chains|strong="H5178", and carried|strong="H0935" him to Babylon|strong="H0894", and put|strong="H5414" him in prison|strong="H1004" till the day|strong="H3117" of his death|strong="H4194".

Now in the fifth|strong="H2549" month|strong="H2320", in the tenth|strong="H6218" day of the month|strong="H2320", which was the nineteenth|strong="H8672" year|strong="H8141" of Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", came|strong="H0935" Nebuzar-adan|strong="H5018", captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876", which served|strong="H5975" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", into Jerusalem|strong="H3389",

And burned|strong="H8313" the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004"; and all the houses|strong="H1004" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and all the houses|strong="H1004" of the great|strong="H1419" men, burned|strong="H8313" he with fire|strong="H0784":

And all the army|strong="H2428" of the Chaldeans|strong="H3778", that were with the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876", brake down|strong="H5422" all the walls|strong="H2346" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389" round about|strong="H5439".

Then Nebuzar-adan|strong="H5018" the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" carried away captive|strong="H1540" certain of the poor|strong="H1803" of the people|strong="H5971", and the residue|strong="H3499" of the people|strong="H5971" that remained|strong="H7604" in the city|strong="H5892", and those that fell away|strong="H5307", that fell|strong="H5307" to the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", and the rest|strong="H3499" of the multitude|strong="H0527".

But Nebuzar-adan|strong="H5018" the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" left|strong="H7604" certain of the poor|strong="H1803" of the land|strong="H0776" for vinedressers|strong="H3755" and for husbandmen|strong="H3009".

Also the pillars|strong="H5982" of brass|strong="H5178" that were in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and the bases|strong="H4350", and the brasen|strong="H5178" sea|strong="H3220" that was in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, the Chaldeans|strong="H3778" brake|strong="H7665", and carried|strong="H5375" all the brass|strong="H5178" of them to Babylon|strong="H0894".

The caldrons|strong="H5518" also, and the shovels|strong="H3257", and the snuffers|strong="H4212", and the bowls|strong="H4219", and the spoons|strong="H3709", and all the vessels|strong="H3627" of brass|strong="H5178" wherewith they ministered|strong="H8334", took they away|strong="H3947".

And the basons|strong="H5592", and the firepans|strong="H4289", and the bowls|strong="H4219", and the caldrons|strong="H5518", and the candlesticks|strong="H4501", and the spoons|strong="H3709", and the cups|strong="H4518"; that which was of gold|strong="H2091" in gold|strong="H2091", and that which was of silver|strong="H3701" in silver|strong="H3701", took|strong="H3947" the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" away|strong="H3947".

The two|strong="H8147" pillars|strong="H5982", one|strong="H0259" sea|strong="H3220", and twelve|strong="H8147" brasen|strong="H5178" bulls|strong="H1241" that were under the bases|strong="H4350", which king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010" had made|strong="H6213" in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: the brass|strong="H5178" of all these vessels|strong="H3627" was without weight|strong="H4948".

And concerning the pillars|strong="H5982", the height|strong="H6967" of one|strong="H0259" pillar|strong="H5982" was eighteen|strong="H8083" cubits|strong="H0520"; and a fillet|strong="H2339" of twelve|strong="H8147" cubits|strong="H0520" did compass|strong="H5437" it; and the thickness|strong="H5672" thereof was four|strong="H0702" fingers|strong="H0676": it was hollow|strong="H5014".

And a chapiter|strong="H3805" of brass|strong="H5178" was upon it; and the height|strong="H6967" of one|strong="H0259" chapiter|strong="H3805" was five|strong="H2568" cubits|strong="H0520", with network|strong="H7639" and pomegranates|strong="H7416" upon the chapiters|strong="H3805" round about|strong="H5439", all of brass|strong="H5178". The second|strong="H8145" pillar|strong="H5982" also and the pomegranates|strong="H7416" were like unto these.

And there were ninety|strong="H8673" and six|strong="H8337" pomegranates|strong="H7416" on a side|strong="H7307"; and all the pomegranates|strong="H7416" upon the network|strong="H7639" were an hundred|strong="H3967" round about|strong="H5439".

And the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" took|strong="H3947" Seraiah|strong="H8304" the chief|strong="H7218" priest|strong="H3548", and Zephaniah|strong="H6846" the second|strong="H4932" priest|strong="H3548", and the three|strong="H7969" keepers|strong="H8104" of the door|strong="H5592":

He took|strong="H3947" also out of the city|strong="H5892" an|strong="H0259" eunuch|strong="H5631", which had the charge|strong="H6496" of the men|strong="H0582" of war|strong="H4421"; and seven|strong="H7651" men|strong="H0582" of them that were near|strong="H7200" the king’s|strong="H4428" person|strong="H6440", which were found|strong="H4672" in the city|strong="H5892"; and the principal|strong="H8269" scribe|strong="H5608" of the host|strong="H6635", who mustered|strong="H6633" the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776"; and threescore|strong="H8346" men|strong="H0376" of the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776", that were found|strong="H4672" in the midst|strong="H8432" of the city|strong="H5892".

So Nebuzar-adan|strong="H5018" the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" took|strong="H3947" them, and brought|strong="H3212" them to the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" to Riblah|strong="H7247".

And the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" smote|strong="H5221" them, and put them to death|strong="H4191" in Riblah|strong="H7247" in the land|strong="H0127" of Hamath|strong="H2574". Thus Judah|strong="H3063" was carried away captive|strong="H1540" out of his own land|strong="H0776".

This is the people|strong="H5971" whom Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" carried away captive|strong="H1540": in the seventh|strong="H7651" year|strong="H8141" three|strong="H7969" thousand|strong="H0505" Jews|strong="H3064" and three|strong="H7969" and twenty|strong="H6242":

In the eighteenth|strong="H8083" year|strong="H8141" of Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" he carried away captive|strong="H1540" from Jerusalem|strong="H3389" eight|strong="H8083" hundred|strong="H3967" thirty|strong="H7970" and two|strong="H8147" persons|strong="H5315":

In the three|strong="H7969" and twentieth|strong="H6242" year|strong="H8141" of Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" Nebuzar-adan|strong="H5018" the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" carried away captive|strong="H1540" of the Jews|strong="H3064" seven|strong="H7651" hundred|strong="H3967" forty|strong="H0705" and five|strong="H2568" persons|strong="H5315": all the persons|strong="H5315" were four|strong="H0702" thousand|strong="H0505" and six|strong="H8337" hundred|strong="H3967".

And it came to pass in the seven|strong="H7651" and thirtieth|strong="H7970" year|strong="H8141" of the captivity|strong="H1546" of Jehoiachin|strong="H3078" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", in the twelfth|strong="H8147" month|strong="H2320", in the five|strong="H2568" and twentieth|strong="H6242" day of the month|strong="H2320", that Evil-merodach|strong="H0192" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" in the first year|strong="H8141" of his reign|strong="H4438" lifted up|strong="H5375" the head|strong="H7218" of Jehoiachin|strong="H3078" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", and brought him forth|strong="H3318" out of prison|strong="H1004",

And spake|strong="H1696" kindly|strong="H2896" unto him, and set|strong="H5414" his throne|strong="H3678" above|strong="H4605" the throne|strong="H3678" of the kings|strong="H4428" that were with him in Babylon|strong="H0894",

And changed|strong="H8138" his prison|strong="H3608" garments|strong="H0899": and he did continually|strong="H8548" eat|strong="H0398" bread|strong="H3899" before|strong="H6440" him all the days|strong="H3117" of his life|strong="H2416".

And for his diet|strong="H0737", there was a continual|strong="H8548" diet|strong="H0737" given|strong="H5414" him of the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", every|strong="H3117" day|strong="H3117" a portion|strong="H1697" until the day|strong="H3117" of his death|strong="H4194", all the days|strong="H3117" of his life|strong="H2416".
