2 Against Egypt|strong="H4714", against the army|strong="H2428" of Pharaoh-necho|strong="H6549" king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714", which was by the river|strong="H5104" Euphrates|strong="H6578" in Carchemish|strong="H3751", which Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" smote|strong="H5221" in the fourth|strong="H7243" year|strong="H8141" of Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" the son|strong="H1121" of Josiah|strong="H2977" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063".
2 Esta mensagem acerca do Egito foi anunciada no quarto ano do reinado de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, quando o faraó Neco, rei do Egito, e seu exército foram derrotados junto ao rio Eufrates por Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, na batalha de Carquemis.

3 “Preparem seus escudos e avancem para a batalha!
4 Harness|strong="H0631" the horses|strong="H5483"; and get up|strong="H5927", ye horsemen|strong="H6571", and stand forth|strong="H3320" with your helmets|strong="H3553"; furbish|strong="H4838" the spears|strong="H7420", and put on|strong="H3847" the brigandines|strong="H5630".
4 Selem os cavalos e montem neles, cavaleiros! Tomem suas posições e coloquem os capacetes. Afiem as lanças e vistam as armaduras.
5 Wherefore have I seen|strong="H7200" them dismayed|strong="H2844" and turned|strong="H5472" away back|strong="H0268"? and their mighty ones|strong="H1368" are beaten down|strong="H3807", and are fled|strong="H5127" apace|strong="H4498", and look not back|strong="H6437": for fear|strong="H4032" was round about|strong="H5439", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
5 Mas o que vejo? O exército egípcio foge, apavorado. Seus guerreiros mais valentes correm sem olhar para trás. Estão cercados de terror”, diz o S
6 Let not the swift|strong="H7031" flee away|strong="H5127", nor the mighty man|strong="H1368" escape|strong="H4422"; they shall stumble|strong="H3782", and fall|strong="H5307" toward the north|strong="H6828" by|strong="H3027" the river|strong="H5104" Euphrates|strong="H6578".
6 “Os mais velozes não conseguem fugir, os mais fortes não podem escapar. No norte, junto ao rio Eufrates, tropeçam e caem.
7 Who is this that cometh up|strong="H5927" as a flood|strong="H2975", whose waters|strong="H4325" are moved|strong="H1607" as the rivers|strong="H5104"?
7 “Quem é este que sobe como o Nilo no tempo das cheias e inunda toda a terra?
8 Egypt|strong="H4714" riseth up|strong="H5927" like a flood|strong="H2975", and his waters|strong="H4325" are moved|strong="H1607" like the rivers|strong="H5104"; and he saith|strong="H0559", I will go up|strong="H5927", and will cover|strong="H3680" the earth|strong="H0776"; I will destroy|strong="H0006" the city|strong="H5892" and the inhabitants|strong="H3427" thereof.
8 É o exército egípcio que inunda toda a terra. Conta vantagem de que a cobrirá como uma enchente e destruirá as cidades e seus habitantes.
9 Come up|strong="H5927", ye horses|strong="H5483"; and rage|strong="H1984", ye chariots|strong="H7393"; and let the mighty men|strong="H1368" come forth|strong="H3318"; the Ethiopians|strong="H3568" and the Libyans|strong="H6316", that handle|strong="H8610" the shield|strong="H4043"; and the Lydians|strong="H3866", that handle|strong="H8610" and bend|strong="H1869" the bow|strong="H7198".
9 Avancem, cavalos e carros de guerra, ataquem, guerreiros valentes do Egito! Venham todos vocês, aliados da Etiópia, da Líbia e da Lídia, hábeis com o escudo e o arco.
10 For this is the day|strong="H3117" of the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", a day|strong="H3117" of vengeance|strong="H5360", that he may avenge|strong="H5358" him of his adversaries|strong="H6862": and the sword|strong="H2719" shall devour|strong="H0398", and it shall be satiate|strong="H7646" and made drunk|strong="H7301" with their blood|strong="H1818": for the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" hath a sacrifice|strong="H2077" in the north|strong="H6828" country|strong="H0776" by the river|strong="H5104" Euphrates|strong="H6578".
10 Porque este é o dia do Soberano S enhor dos Exércitos, dia de vingar-se de seus inimigos. A espada devorará até se fartar, sim, até se embriagar com seu sangue. O Soberano S na terra do norte, junto ao rio Eufrates.
11 Go up|strong="H5927" into Gilead|strong="H1568", and take|strong="H3947" balm|strong="H6875", O virgin|strong="H1330", the daughter|strong="H1323" of Egypt|strong="H4714": in vain|strong="H7723" shalt thou use many|strong="H7235" medicines|strong="H7499"; for thou shalt not be cured|strong="H8585".
11 “Suba a Gileade para buscar remédio, ó filha virgem do Egito! Mas de nada adiantarão seus muitos medicamentos, pois não há cura para você.
12 The nations|strong="H1471" have heard|strong="H8085" of thy shame|strong="H7036", and thy cry|strong="H6682" hath filled|strong="H4390" the land|strong="H0776": for the mighty man|strong="H1368" hath stumbled|strong="H3782" against the mighty|strong="H1368", and they are fallen|strong="H5307" both|strong="H8147" together|strong="H3162".
12 As nações ouviram falar de sua humilhação, a terra está cheia de seus gritos de desespero. Seus guerreiros mais valentes tropeçarão uns nos outros e juntos cairão.”
13 The word|strong="H1697" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" to Jeremiah|strong="H3414" the prophet|strong="H5030", how Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" should come|strong="H0935" and smite|strong="H5221" the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714".
13 Então o S enhor deu ao profeta Jeremias esta mensagem acerca dos planos de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, para atacar o Egito.
14 Declare|strong="H5046" ye in Egypt|strong="H4714", and publish|strong="H8085" in Migdol|strong="H4024", and publish|strong="H8085" in Noph|strong="H5297" and in Tahpanhes|strong="H8471": say|strong="H0559" ye, Stand fast|strong="H3320", and prepare|strong="H3559" thee; for the sword|strong="H2719" shall devour|strong="H0398" round about|strong="H5439" thee.
14 “Anunciem esta mensagem no Egito, proclamem-na em Migdol, Mênfis Preparem-se para a batalha, pois a espada devorará todos ao seu redor.
15 Why are thy valiant|strong="H0047" men swept away|strong="H5502"? they stood|strong="H5975" not, because the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* did drive|strong="H1920" them.
15 Por que seus guerreiros caíram? Não conseguem ficar em pé, pois o S
16 He made many|strong="H7235" to fall|strong="H3782", yea, one|strong="H0376" fell|strong="H5307" upon another|strong="H7453": and they said|strong="H0559", Arise|strong="H6965", and let us go again|strong="H7725" to our own people|strong="H5971", and to the land|strong="H0776" of our nativity|strong="H4138", from|strong="H6440" the oppressing|strong="H3238" sword|strong="H2719".
16 Tropeçam e caem uns sobre os outros e dizem entre si: ‘Venham, vamos voltar ao nosso povo, à nossa terra natal; vamos fugir da espada do inimigo!’.
17 They did cry|strong="H7121" there, Pharaoh|strong="H6547" king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714" is but a noise|strong="H7588"; he hath passed|strong="H5674" the time appointed|strong="H4150".
17 Ali eles dirão: ‘O faraó, o rei do Egito, só faz barulho; perdeu sua oportunidade!’.
18 As I live|strong="H2416", saith|strong="H5002" the King|strong="H4428", whose name|strong="H8034" is the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", Surely as Tabor|strong="H8396" is among the mountains|strong="H2022", and as Carmel|strong="H3760" by the sea|strong="H3220", so shall he come|strong="H0935".
18 “Tão certo como eu vivo”, diz o Rei, cujo nome é S “vem contra o Egito alguém alto como o monte Tabor, como o monte Carmelo junto ao mar.
19 O thou daughter|strong="H1323" dwelling|strong="H3427" in Egypt|strong="H4714", furnish|strong="H6213" thyself to go into captivity|strong="H3627": for Noph|strong="H5297" shall be waste|strong="H8047" and desolate|strong="H3341" without an inhabitant|strong="H3427".
19 Arrume a bagagem! Prepare-se para ir ao exílio, povo do Egito! A cidade de Mênfis será destruída, e não restará um só habitante.
20 Egypt|strong="H4714" is like a very fair|strong="H3304" heifer|strong="H5697", but destruction|strong="H7171" cometh|strong="H0935"; it cometh out|strong="H0935" of the north|strong="H6828".
20 O Egito é formoso como uma bela novilha, mas uma grande mosca do norte está a caminho.
21 Also her hired men|strong="H7916" are in the midst|strong="H7130" of her like fatted|strong="H4770" bullocks|strong="H5695"; for they also are turned back|strong="H6437", and are fled away|strong="H5127" together|strong="H3162": they did not stand|strong="H5975", because the day|strong="H3117" of their calamity|strong="H0343" was come|strong="H0935" upon them, and the time|strong="H6256" of their visitation|strong="H6486".
21 Os mercenários do Egito são fortes como bezerros gordos, mas eles também darão meia-volta e fugirão, pois este é um dia de grande calamidade para o Egito, o tempo de seu castigo.
22 The voice|strong="H6963" thereof shall go|strong="H3212" like a serpent|strong="H5175"; for they shall march|strong="H3212" with an army|strong="H2428", and come|strong="H0935" against her with axes|strong="H7134", as hewers|strong="H2404" of wood|strong="H6086".
22 O Egito foge como uma serpente que desliza para longe; os exércitos invasores avançam e vêm contra ele com machados, como se fossem lenhadores.
23 They shall cut down|strong="H3772" her forest|strong="H3293", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, though it cannot be searched|strong="H2713"; because they are more|strong="H7231" than the grasshoppers|strong="H0697", and are innumerable|strong="H0369".
23 Cortarão seu povo como árvores”, diz o S enhor , “pois são mais numerosos que gafanhotos.
24 The daughter|strong="H1323" of Egypt|strong="H4714" shall be confounded|strong="H3001"; she shall be delivered|strong="H5414" into the hand|strong="H3027" of the people|strong="H5971" of the north|strong="H6828".
24 O Egito será humilhado; será entregue ao povo do norte.”
25 The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", saith|strong="H0559"; Behold, I will punish|strong="H6485" the multitude|strong="H0527" of No|strong="H4996", and Pharaoh|strong="H6547", and Egypt|strong="H4714", with their gods|strong="H0430", and their kings|strong="H4428"; even Pharaoh|strong="H6547", and all them that trust|strong="H0982" in him:
25 Assim diz o S enhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: “Castigarei Amom, o deus de Tebas, e todos os outros deuses do Egito. Castigarei seus governantes, o faraó e todos que nele confiam.
26 And I will deliver|strong="H5414" them into the hand|strong="H3027" of those that seek|strong="H1245" their lives|strong="H5315", and into the hand|strong="H3027" of Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", and into the hand|strong="H3027" of his servants|strong="H5650": and afterward|strong="H0310" it shall be inhabited|strong="H7931", as in the days|strong="H3117" of old|strong="H6924", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
26 Eu os entregarei àqueles que desejam matá-los, a Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e a seu exército. Depois disso, porém, a terra voltará a ser habitada, como no passado. Eu, o S enhor , falei!
27 But fear|strong="H3372" not thou, O my servant|strong="H5650" Jacob|strong="H3290", and be not dismayed|strong="H2865", O Israel|strong="H3478": for, behold, I will save|strong="H3467" thee from afar off|strong="H7350", and thy seed|strong="H2233" from the land|strong="H0776" of their captivity|strong="H7628"; and Jacob|strong="H3290" shall return|strong="H7725", and be in rest|strong="H8252" and at ease|strong="H7599", and none shall make him afraid|strong="H2729".
27 “Mas não tenha medo, meu servo Jacó; não desanime, ó Israel. Pois eu o trarei de volta de terras distantes, e seus descendentes retornarão do exílio. Israel e ninguém o assustará.
28 Fear|strong="H3372" thou not, O Jacob|strong="H3290" my servant|strong="H5650", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: for I am with thee; for I will make|strong="H6213" a full end|strong="H3617" of all the nations|strong="H1471" whither I have driven|strong="H5080" thee: but I will not make|strong="H6213" a full end|strong="H3617" of thee, but correct|strong="H3256" thee in measure|strong="H4941"; yet will I not leave thee wholly|strong="H5352" unpunished|strong="H5352".
28 Não tenha medo, meu servo Jacó, pois estou com você”, diz o S “Destruirei completamente todas as nações entre as quais o espalhei, mas você não será completamente destruído. Eu o disciplinarei, mas com justiça; não posso permitir que fique impune.”
