The word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* that came to Jeremiah|strong="H3414" the prophet|strong="H5030" against the Philistines|strong="H6430", before that Pharaoh|strong="H6547" smote|strong="H5221" Gaza|strong="H5804".
Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; Behold, waters|strong="H4325" rise up|strong="H5927" out of the north|strong="H6828", and shall be an overflowing|strong="H7857" flood|strong="H5158", and shall overflow|strong="H7857" the land|strong="H0776", and all that is therein|strong="H4393"; the city|strong="H5892", and them that dwell|strong="H3427" therein: then the men|strong="H0120" shall cry|strong="H2199", and all the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the land|strong="H0776" shall howl|strong="H3213".
At the noise|strong="H6963" of the stamping|strong="H8161" of the hoofs|strong="H6541" of his strong|strong="H0047" horses, at the rushing|strong="H7494" of his chariots|strong="H7393", and at the rumbling|strong="H1995" of his wheels|strong="H1534", the fathers|strong="H0001" shall not look back|strong="H6437" to their children|strong="H1121" for feebleness|strong="H7510" of hands|strong="H3027";
Because of the day|strong="H3117" that cometh|strong="H0935" to spoil|strong="H7703" all the Philistines|strong="H6430", and to cut off|strong="H3772" from Tyrus|strong="H6865" and Zidon|strong="H6721" every helper|strong="H5826" that remaineth|strong="H8300": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will spoil|strong="H7703" the Philistines|strong="H6430", the remnant|strong="H7611" of the country|strong="H0339" of Caphtor|strong="H3731".
Baldness|strong="H7144" is come|strong="H0935" upon Gaza|strong="H5804"; Ashkelon|strong="H0831" is cut off|strong="H1820" with the remnant|strong="H7611" of their valley|strong="H6010": how long wilt thou cut|strong="H1413" thyself?
O|strong="H1945" thou sword|strong="H2719" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, how long will it be ere|strong="H3808" thou be quiet|strong="H8252"? put up|strong="H0622" thyself into thy scabbard|strong="H8593", rest|strong="H7280", and be still|strong="H1826".
How can it be quiet|strong="H8252", seeing the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath given it a charge|strong="H6680" against Ashkelon|strong="H0831", and against the sea|strong="H3220" shore|strong="H2348"? there hath he appointed|strong="H3259" it.
