Against Moab|strong="H4124" thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478"; Woe|strong="H1945" unto Nebo|strong="H5015"! for it is spoiled|strong="H7703": Kiriathaim|strong="H7156" is confounded|strong="H3001" and taken|strong="H3920": Misgab|strong="H4869" is confounded|strong="H3001" and dismayed|strong="H2865".
There shall be no more praise|strong="H8416" of Moab|strong="H4124": in Heshbon|strong="H2809" they have devised|strong="H2803" evil|strong="H7451" against it; come|strong="H3212", and let us cut it off|strong="H3772" from being a nation|strong="H1471". Also thou shalt be cut down|strong="H1826", O Madmen|strong="H4086"; the sword|strong="H2719" shall pursue|strong="H3212" thee|strong="H0310".
A voice|strong="H6963" of crying|strong="H6818" shall be from Horonaim|strong="H2773", spoiling|strong="H7701" and great|strong="H1419" destruction|strong="H7667".
Moab|strong="H4124" is destroyed|strong="H7665"; her little ones|strong="H6810" have caused a cry|strong="H2201" to be heard|strong="H8085".
For in the going up|strong="H4608" of Luhith|strong="H3872" continual|strong="H1065" weeping|strong="H1065" shall go up|strong="H5927"; for in the going down|strong="H4174" of Horonaim|strong="H2773" the enemies|strong="H6862" have heard|strong="H8085" a cry|strong="H6818" of destruction|strong="H7667".
Flee|strong="H5127", save|strong="H4422" your lives|strong="H5315", and be|strong="H1961" like the heath|strong="H6176" in the wilderness|strong="H4057".
For because thou hast trusted|strong="H0982" in thy works|strong="H4639" and in thy treasures|strong="H0214", thou shalt also be taken|strong="H3920": and Chemosh|strong="H3645" shall go forth|strong="H3318" into captivity|strong="H1473" with his priests|strong="H3548" and his princes|strong="H8269" together|strong="H3162".
And the spoiler|strong="H7703" shall come|strong="H0935" upon every city|strong="H5892", and no city|strong="H5892" shall escape|strong="H4422": the valley|strong="H6010" also shall perish|strong="H0006", and the plain|strong="H4334" shall be destroyed|strong="H8045", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoken|strong="H0559".
Give|strong="H5414" wings|strong="H6731" unto Moab|strong="H4124", that it may flee|strong="H5323" and get away|strong="H3318": for the cities|strong="H5892" thereof shall be desolate|strong="H8047", without any to dwell|strong="H3427" therein|strong="H2004".
Cursed|strong="H0779" be he that doeth|strong="H6213" the work|strong="H4399" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* deceitfully|strong="H7423", and cursed|strong="H0779" be he that keepeth back|strong="H4513" his sword|strong="H2719" from blood|strong="H1818".
Moab|strong="H4124" hath been at ease|strong="H7599" from his youth|strong="H5271", and he hath settled|strong="H8252" on his lees|strong="H8105", and hath not been emptied|strong="H7324" from vessel|strong="H3627" to vessel|strong="H3627", neither hath he gone|strong="H1980" into captivity|strong="H1473": therefore his taste|strong="H2940" remained|strong="H5975" in him, and his scent|strong="H7381" is not changed|strong="H4171".
Therefore, behold, the days|strong="H3117" come|strong="H0935", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that I will send|strong="H7971" unto him wanderers|strong="H6808", that shall cause him to wander|strong="H6808", and shall empty|strong="H7324" his vessels|strong="H3627", and break|strong="H5310" their bottles|strong="H5035".
And Moab|strong="H4124" shall be ashamed|strong="H0954" of Chemosh|strong="H3645", as the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478" was ashamed|strong="H0954" of Beth-el|strong="H1008" their confidence|strong="H4009".
How say|strong="H0559" ye, We are mighty|strong="H1368" and strong|strong="H2428" men|strong="H0582" for the war|strong="H4421"?
Moab|strong="H4124" is spoiled|strong="H7703", and gone up|strong="H5927" out of her cities|strong="H5892", and his chosen|strong="H4005" young men|strong="H0970" are gone down|strong="H3381" to the slaughter|strong="H2874", saith|strong="H5002" the King|strong="H4428", whose name|strong="H8034" is the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635".
The calamity|strong="H0343" of Moab|strong="H4124" is near|strong="H7138" to come|strong="H0935", and his affliction|strong="H7451" hasteth|strong="H4116" fast|strong="H3966".
All ye that are about|strong="H5439" him, bemoan|strong="H5110" him; and all ye that know|strong="H3045" his name|strong="H8034", say|strong="H0559", How is the strong|strong="H5797" staff|strong="H4294" broken|strong="H7665", and the beautiful|strong="H8597" rod|strong="H4731"!
Thou daughter|strong="H1323" that dost inhabit|strong="H3427" Dibon|strong="H1769", come down|strong="H3381" from thy glory|strong="H3519", and sit|strong="H3427" in thirst|strong="H6772"; for the spoiler|strong="H7703" of Moab|strong="H4124" shall come|strong="H5927" upon thee, and he shall destroy|strong="H7843" thy strong holds|strong="H4013".
O inhabitant|strong="H3427" of Aroer|strong="H6177", stand|strong="H5975" by the way|strong="H1870", and espy|strong="H6822"; ask|strong="H7592" him that fleeth|strong="H5127", and her that escapeth|strong="H4422", and say|strong="H0559", What is done|strong="H1961"?
Moab|strong="H4124" is confounded|strong="H3001"; for it is broken down|strong="H2865": howl|strong="H3213" and cry|strong="H2199"; tell|strong="H5046" ye it in Arnon|strong="H0769", that Moab|strong="H4124" is spoiled|strong="H7703",
And judgment|strong="H4941" is come|strong="H0935" upon the plain|strong="H4334" country|strong="H0776"; upon Holon|strong="H2473", and upon Jahazah|strong="H3096", and upon Mephaath|strong="H4158",
And upon Dibon|strong="H1769", and upon Nebo|strong="H5015", and upon Beth-diblathaim|strong="H1015",
And upon Kiriathaim|strong="H7156", and upon Beth-gamul|strong="H1014", and upon Beth-meon|strong="H1010",
And upon Kerioth|strong="H7152", and upon Bozrah|strong="H1224", and upon all the cities|strong="H5892" of the land|strong="H0776" of Moab|strong="H4124", far|strong="H7350" or near|strong="H7138".
The horn|strong="H7161" of Moab|strong="H4124" is cut off|strong="H1438", and his arm|strong="H2220" is broken|strong="H7665", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
Make ye him drunken|strong="H7937": for he magnified|strong="H1431" himself against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: Moab|strong="H4124" also shall wallow|strong="H5606" in his vomit|strong="H6892", and he also shall be in derision|strong="H7814".
For was not Israel|strong="H3478" a derision|strong="H7814" unto thee? was he found|strong="H4672" among thieves|strong="H1590"? for since|strong="H1767" thou spakest|strong="H1697" of him, thou skippedst|strong="H5110" for joy.
O ye that dwell|strong="H3427" in Moab|strong="H4124", leave|strong="H5800" the cities|strong="H5892", and dwell|strong="H7931" in the rock|strong="H5553", and be like the dove|strong="H3123" that maketh her nest|strong="H7077" in the sides|strong="H5676" of the hole’s|strong="H6354" mouth|strong="H6310".
We have heard|strong="H8085" the pride|strong="H1347" of Moab|strong="H4124", (he is exceeding|strong="H3966" proud|strong="H1343") his loftiness|strong="H1363", and his arrogancy|strong="H1346", and his pride|strong="H1347", and the haughtiness|strong="H7312" of his heart|strong="H3820".
I know|strong="H3045" his wrath|strong="H5678", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; but it shall not be so; his lies|strong="H0907" shall not so effect|strong="H6213" it.
Therefore will I howl|strong="H3213" for Moab|strong="H4124", and I will cry out|strong="H2199" for all Moab|strong="H4124"; mine heart shall mourn|strong="H1897" for the men|strong="H0582" of Kir-heres|strong="H7025".
O vine|strong="H1612" of Sibmah|strong="H7643", I will weep|strong="H1058" for thee with the weeping|strong="H1065" of Jazer|strong="H3270": thy plants|strong="H5189" are gone over|strong="H5674" the sea|strong="H3220", they reach|strong="H5060" even to the sea|strong="H3220" of Jazer|strong="H3270": the spoiler|strong="H7703" is fallen|strong="H5307" upon thy summer fruits|strong="H7019" and upon thy vintage|strong="H1210".
And joy|strong="H8057" and gladness|strong="H1524" is taken|strong="H0622" from the plentiful field|strong="H3759", and from the land|strong="H0776" of Moab|strong="H4124"; and I have caused wine|strong="H3196" to fail|strong="H7673" from the winepresses|strong="H3342": none shall tread|strong="H1869" with shouting|strong="H1959"; their shouting|strong="H1959" shall be no shouting|strong="H1959".
From the cry|strong="H2201" of Heshbon|strong="H2809" even unto Elealeh|strong="H0500", and even unto Jahaz|strong="H3096", have they uttered|strong="H5414" their voice|strong="H6963", from Zoar|strong="H6820" even unto Horonaim|strong="H2773", as an heifer|strong="H5697" of three years old|strong="H7992": for the waters|strong="H4325" also of Nimrim|strong="H5249" shall be desolate|strong="H4923".
Moreover I will cause to cease|strong="H7673" in Moab|strong="H4124", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, him that offereth|strong="H5927" in the high places|strong="H1116", and him that burneth incense|strong="H6999" to his gods|strong="H0430".
Therefore mine heart|strong="H3820" shall sound|strong="H1993" for Moab|strong="H4124" like pipes|strong="H2485", and mine heart|strong="H3820" shall sound|strong="H1993" like pipes|strong="H2485" for the men|strong="H0582" of Kir-heres|strong="H7025": because the riches|strong="H3502" that he hath gotten|strong="H6213" are perished|strong="H0006".
For every head|strong="H7218" shall be bald|strong="H7144", and every beard|strong="H2206" clipped|strong="H1639": upon all the hands|strong="H3027" shall be cuttings|strong="H1417", and upon the loins|strong="H4975" sackcloth|strong="H8242".
There shall be lamentation|strong="H4553" generally upon all the housetops|strong="H1406" of Moab|strong="H4124", and in the streets|strong="H7339" thereof: for I have broken|strong="H7665" Moab|strong="H4124" like a vessel|strong="H3627" wherein is no pleasure|strong="H2656", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
They shall howl|strong="H3213", saying, How is it broken down|strong="H2865"! how hath Moab|strong="H4124" turned|strong="H6437" the back|strong="H6203" with shame|strong="H0954"! so shall Moab|strong="H4124" be a derision|strong="H7814" and a dismaying|strong="H4288" to all them about|strong="H5439" him.
For thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; Behold, he shall fly|strong="H1675" as an eagle|strong="H5404", and shall spread|strong="H6566" his wings|strong="H3671" over Moab|strong="H4124".
Kerioth|strong="H7152" is taken|strong="H3920", and the strong holds|strong="H4679" are surprised|strong="H8610", and the mighty men’s|strong="H1368" hearts|strong="H3820" in Moab|strong="H4124" at that day|strong="H3117" shall be as the heart|strong="H3820" of a woman|strong="H0802" in her pangs|strong="H6887".
And Moab|strong="H4124" shall be destroyed|strong="H8045" from being a people|strong="H5971", because he hath magnified|strong="H1431" himself against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
Fear|strong="H6343", and the pit|strong="H6354", and the snare|strong="H6341", shall be upon thee, O inhabitant|strong="H3427" of Moab|strong="H4124", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
He that fleeth|strong="H5127" from|strong="H6440" the fear|strong="H6343" shall fall|strong="H5307" into the pit|strong="H6354"; and he that getteth up|strong="H5927" out of the pit|strong="H6354" shall be taken|strong="H3920" in the snare|strong="H6341": for I will bring|strong="H0935" upon it, even upon Moab|strong="H4124", the year|strong="H8141" of their visitation|strong="H6486", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
They that fled|strong="H5127" stood|strong="H5975" under the shadow|strong="H6738" of Heshbon|strong="H2809" because of the force|strong="H3581": but a fire|strong="H0784" shall come forth|strong="H3318" out of Heshbon|strong="H2809", and a flame|strong="H3852" from the midst|strong="H0996" of Sihon|strong="H5511", and shall devour|strong="H0398" the corner|strong="H6285" of Moab|strong="H4124", and the crown of the head|strong="H6936" of the tumultuous|strong="H7588" ones|strong="H1121".
Woe|strong="H0188" be unto thee, O Moab|strong="H4124"! the people|strong="H5971" of Chemosh|strong="H3645" perisheth|strong="H0006": for thy sons|strong="H1121" are taken|strong="H3947" captives|strong="H7628", and thy daughters|strong="H1323" captives|strong="H7633".
Yet will I bring again|strong="H7725" the captivity|strong="H7622" of Moab|strong="H4124" in the latter|strong="H0319" days|strong="H3117", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*. Thus far|strong="H2008" is the judgment|strong="H4941" of Moab|strong="H4124".
