1 The word|strong="H1697" that Jeremiah|strong="H3414" the prophet|strong="H5030" spake|strong="H1696" unto Baruch|strong="H1263" the son|strong="H1121" of Neriah|strong="H5374", when he had written|strong="H3789" these words|strong="H1697" in a book|strong="H5612" at the mouth|strong="H6310" of Jeremiah|strong="H3414", in the fourth|strong="H7243" year|strong="H8141" of Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" the son|strong="H1121" of Josiah|strong="H2977" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", saying|strong="H0559",
1 A palavra que Jeremias, o profeta, falou para Baruque, o filho de Nerias, quando ele escreveu estas palavras em um livro, da boca de Jeremias, no quarto ano de Jeoiaquim, o filho de Josias, rei de Judá, dizendo:
2 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", unto thee, O Baruch|strong="H1263";
2 Assim diz o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, para ti, ó Baruque:
3 Thou didst say|strong="H0559", Woe|strong="H0188" is me now! for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath added|strong="H3254" grief|strong="H3015" to my sorrow|strong="H4341"; I fainted|strong="H3021" in my sighing|strong="H0585", and I find|strong="H4672" no rest|strong="H4496".
3 Tu disseste: Ai de mim agora! Porque o SENHOR tem somado tristeza à minha dor. Eu desfaleci em meu lamento, e eu não encontro descanso.
4 Thus shalt thou say|strong="H0559" unto him, The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* saith|strong="H0559" thus; Behold, that which I have built|strong="H1129" will I break down|strong="H2040", and that which I have planted|strong="H5193" I will pluck up|strong="H5428", even this whole land|strong="H0776".
4 Desta forma tu lhe dirás: O SENHOR diz assim: Eis que aquilo que eu construí, eu irei destruir, e aquilo que plantei, irei desarraigar, até mesmo toda esta terra.
5 And seekest|strong="H1245" thou great things|strong="H1419" for thyself? seek|strong="H1245" them not: for, behold, I will bring|strong="H0935" evil|strong="H7451" upon all flesh|strong="H1320", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: but thy life|strong="H5315" will I give|strong="H5414" unto thee for a prey|strong="H7998" in all places|strong="H4725" whither thou goest|strong="H3212".
5 E tu buscas grandes coisas para ti? Não as busques, pois eis que eu trarei o mal sobre toda carne, diz o SENHOR, porém tua vida eu darei a ti por um despojo, em todos os lugares para onde tu fores.
