1 The word|strong="H1697" that came to Jeremiah|strong="H3414" concerning all the Jews|strong="H3064" which dwell|strong="H3427" in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", which dwell|strong="H3427" at Migdol|strong="H4024", and at Tahpanhes|strong="H8471", and at Noph|strong="H5297", and in the country|strong="H0776" of Pathros|strong="H6624", saying|strong="H0559",
2 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478"; Ye have seen|strong="H7200" all the evil|strong="H7451" that I have brought|strong="H0935" upon Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and upon all the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063"; and, behold, this day|strong="H3117" they are a desolation|strong="H2723", and no man dwelleth|strong="H3427" therein,
3 Because|strong="H6440" of their wickedness|strong="H7451" which they have committed|strong="H6213" to provoke me to anger|strong="H3707", in that they went|strong="H3212" to burn incense|strong="H6999", and to serve|strong="H5647" other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430", whom they knew|strong="H3045" not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers|strong="H0001".
4 Howbeit I sent|strong="H7971" unto you all my servants|strong="H5650" the prophets|strong="H5030", rising early|strong="H7925" and sending|strong="H7971" them, saying|strong="H0559", Oh, do|strong="H6213" not this abominable|strong="H8441" thing|strong="H1697" that I hate|strong="H8130".
5 But they hearkened|strong="H8085" not, nor inclined|strong="H5186" their ear|strong="H0241" to turn|strong="H7725" from their wickedness|strong="H7451", to burn no incense|strong="H6999" unto other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430".
6 Wherefore my fury|strong="H2534" and mine anger|strong="H0639" was poured forth|strong="H5413", and was kindled|strong="H1197" in the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063" and in the streets|strong="H2351" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389"; and they are wasted|strong="H2723" and desolate|strong="H8077", as at this day|strong="H3117".
7 Therefore now thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, the God|strong="H0430" of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478"; Wherefore commit|strong="H6213" ye this great|strong="H1419" evil|strong="H7451" against your souls|strong="H5315", to cut off|strong="H3772" from you man|strong="H0376" and woman|strong="H0802", child|strong="H5768" and suckling|strong="H3243", out|strong="H8432" of Judah|strong="H3063", to leave|strong="H3498" you none to remain|strong="H7611";
8 In that ye provoke me unto wrath|strong="H3707" with the works|strong="H4639" of your hands|strong="H3027", burning incense|strong="H6999" unto other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430" in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", whither ye be gone|strong="H0935" to dwell|strong="H1481", that ye might cut yourselves off|strong="H3772", and that ye might be a curse|strong="H7045" and a reproach|strong="H2781" among all the nations|strong="H1471" of the earth|strong="H0776"?
9 Have ye forgotten|strong="H7911" the wickedness|strong="H7451" of your fathers|strong="H0001", and the wickedness|strong="H7451" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", and the wickedness|strong="H7451" of their wives|strong="H0802", and your own wickedness|strong="H7451", and the wickedness|strong="H7451" of your wives|strong="H0802", which they have committed|strong="H6213" in the land|strong="H0776" of Judah|strong="H3063", and in the streets|strong="H2351" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389"?
10 They are not humbled|strong="H1792" even unto this day|strong="H3117", neither have they feared|strong="H3372", nor walked|strong="H1980" in my law|strong="H8451", nor in my statutes|strong="H2708", that I set|strong="H5414" before|strong="H6440" you and before|strong="H6440" your fathers|strong="H0001".
11 Therefore thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478"; Behold, I will set|strong="H7760" my face|strong="H6440" against you for evil|strong="H7451", and to cut off|strong="H3772" all Judah|strong="H3063".
12 And I will take|strong="H3947" the remnant|strong="H7611" of Judah|strong="H3063", that have set|strong="H7760" their faces|strong="H6440" to go|strong="H0935" into the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714" to sojourn|strong="H1481" there, and they shall all be consumed|strong="H8552", and fall|strong="H5307" in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714"; they shall even be consumed|strong="H8552" by the sword|strong="H2719" and by the famine|strong="H7458": they shall die|strong="H4191", from the least|strong="H6996" even unto the greatest|strong="H1419", by the sword|strong="H2719" and by the famine|strong="H7458": and they shall be an execration|strong="H0423", and an astonishment|strong="H8047", and a curse|strong="H7045", and a reproach|strong="H2781".
13 For I will punish|strong="H6485" them that dwell|strong="H3427" in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", as I have punished|strong="H6485" Jerusalem|strong="H3389", by the sword|strong="H2719", by the famine|strong="H7458", and by the pestilence|strong="H1698":
14 So that none of the remnant|strong="H7611" of Judah|strong="H3063", which are gone|strong="H0935" into the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714" to sojourn|strong="H1481" there, shall escape|strong="H6412" or remain|strong="H8300", that they should return|strong="H7725" into the land|strong="H0776" of Judah|strong="H3063", to the which they have|strong="H5375" a desire|strong="H5315" to return|strong="H7725" to dwell|strong="H3427" there: for none shall return|strong="H7725" but such as shall escape|strong="H6405".
15 Then all the men|strong="H0582" which knew|strong="H3045" that their wives|strong="H0802" had burned incense|strong="H6999" unto other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430", and all the women|strong="H0802" that stood by|strong="H5975", a great|strong="H1419" multitude|strong="H6951", even all the people|strong="H5971" that dwelt|strong="H3427" in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", in Pathros|strong="H6624", answered|strong="H6030" Jeremiah|strong="H3414", saying|strong="H0559",
16 As for the word|strong="H1697" that thou hast spoken|strong="H1696" unto us in the name|strong="H8034" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, we will not hearken|strong="H8085" unto thee.
17 But we will certainly|strong="H6213" do|strong="H6213" whatsoever thing|strong="H1697" goeth forth|strong="H3318" out of our own mouth|strong="H6310", to burn incense|strong="H6999" unto the queen|strong="H4446" of heaven|strong="H8064", and to pour out|strong="H5258" drink offerings|strong="H5262" unto her, as we have done|strong="H6213", we, and our fathers|strong="H0001", our kings|strong="H4428", and our princes|strong="H8269", in the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063", and in the streets|strong="H2351" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389": for then had we plenty|strong="H7646" of victuals|strong="H3899", and were well|strong="H2896", and saw|strong="H7200" no evil|strong="H7451".
18 But since we left off|strong="H2308" to burn incense|strong="H6999" to the queen|strong="H4446" of heaven|strong="H8064", and to pour out|strong="H5258" drink offerings|strong="H5262" unto her, we have wanted|strong="H2637" all things, and have been consumed|strong="H8552" by the sword|strong="H2719" and by the famine|strong="H7458".
19 And when we burned incense|strong="H6999" to the queen|strong="H4446" of heaven|strong="H8064", and poured out|strong="H5258" drink offerings|strong="H5262" unto her, did we make|strong="H6213" her cakes|strong="H3561" to worship|strong="H6087" her, and pour out|strong="H5258" drink offerings|strong="H5262" unto her, without|strong="H1107" our men|strong="H0582"?
20 Then Jeremiah|strong="H3414" said|strong="H0559" unto all the people|strong="H5971", to the men|strong="H1397", and to the women|strong="H0802", and to all the people|strong="H5971" which had given him that answer|strong="H1697", saying|strong="H0559",
21 The incense|strong="H7002" that ye burned|strong="H6999" in the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063", and in the streets|strong="H2351" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", ye, and your fathers|strong="H0001", your kings|strong="H4428", and your princes|strong="H8269", and the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776", did not the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* remember|strong="H2142" them, and came|strong="H5927" it not into his mind|strong="H3820"?
22 So that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* could|strong="H3201" no longer bear|strong="H5375", because|strong="H6440" of the evil|strong="H7455" of your doings|strong="H4611", and because|strong="H6440" of the abominations|strong="H8441" which ye have committed|strong="H6213"; therefore is your land|strong="H0776" a desolation|strong="H2723", and an astonishment|strong="H8047", and a curse|strong="H7045", without an inhabitant|strong="H3427", as at this day|strong="H3117".
23 Because|strong="H6440" ye have burned incense|strong="H6999", and because ye have sinned|strong="H2398" against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and have not obeyed|strong="H8085" the voice|strong="H6963" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, nor walked|strong="H1980" in his law|strong="H8451", nor in his statutes|strong="H2708", nor in his testimonies|strong="H5715"; therefore this evil|strong="H7451" is happened|strong="H7122" unto you, as at this day|strong="H3117".
24 Moreover Jeremiah|strong="H3414" said|strong="H0559" unto all the people|strong="H5971", and to all the women|strong="H0802", Hear|strong="H8085" the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, all Judah|strong="H3063" that are in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714":
25 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", saying|strong="H0559"; Ye and your wives|strong="H0802" have both spoken|strong="H1696" with your mouths|strong="H6310", and fulfilled|strong="H4390" with your hand|strong="H3027", saying|strong="H0559", We will surely|strong="H6213" perform|strong="H6213" our vows|strong="H5088" that we have vowed|strong="H5087", to burn incense|strong="H6999" to the queen|strong="H4446" of heaven|strong="H8064", and to pour out|strong="H5258" drink offerings|strong="H5262" unto her: ye will surely|strong="H6965" accomplish|strong="H6965" your vows|strong="H5088", and surely|strong="H6213" perform|strong="H6213" your vows|strong="H5088".
26 Therefore hear|strong="H8085" ye the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, all Judah|strong="H3063" that dwell|strong="H3427" in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714"; Behold, I have sworn|strong="H7650" by my great|strong="H1419" name|strong="H8034", saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that my name|strong="H8034" shall no more be named|strong="H7121" in the mouth|strong="H6310" of any man|strong="H0376" of Judah|strong="H3063" in all the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", saying|strong="H0559", The Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w* liveth|strong="H2416".
27 Behold, I will watch|strong="H8245" over them for evil|strong="H7451", and not for good|strong="H2896": and all the men|strong="H0376" of Judah|strong="H3063" that are in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714" shall be consumed|strong="H8552" by the sword|strong="H2719" and by the famine|strong="H7458", until there be an end|strong="H3615" of them.
28 Yet a small|strong="H4962" number|strong="H4557" that escape|strong="H6412" the sword|strong="H2719" shall return out|strong="H7725" of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714" into the land|strong="H0776" of Judah|strong="H3063", and all the remnant|strong="H7611" of Judah|strong="H3063", that are gone|strong="H0935" into the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714" to sojourn|strong="H1481" there, shall know|strong="H3045" whose words|strong="H1697" shall stand|strong="H6965", mine, or theirs.
29 And this shall be a sign|strong="H0226" unto you, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that I will punish|strong="H6485" you in this place|strong="H4725", that ye may know|strong="H3045" that my words|strong="H1697" shall surely|strong="H6965" stand|strong="H6965" against you for evil|strong="H7451":
30 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; Behold, I will give|strong="H5414" Pharaoh-hophra|strong="H6548" king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714" into the hand|strong="H3027" of his enemies|strong="H0341", and into the hand|strong="H3027" of them that seek|strong="H1245" his life|strong="H5315"; as I gave|strong="H5414" Zedekiah|strong="H6667" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" into the hand|strong="H3027" of Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", his enemy|strong="H0341", and that sought|strong="H1245" his life|strong="H5315".
