1 No quarto ano do reinado de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, o Senhor dirigiu esta palavra a Jeremias:
2 Take|strong="H3947" thee a roll|strong="H4039" of a book|strong="H5612", and write|strong="H3789" therein all the words|strong="H1697" that I have spoken|strong="H1696" unto thee against Israel|strong="H3478", and against Judah|strong="H3063", and against all the nations|strong="H1471", from the day|strong="H3117" I spake|strong="H1696" unto thee, from the days|strong="H3117" of Josiah|strong="H2977", even unto this day|strong="H3117".
2 "Pegue um rolo e escreva nele todas as palavras que lhe falei a respeito de Israel, de Judá e de todas as outras nações, desde que comecei a falar a você, durante o reinado de Josias, até hoje.
3 It may be that the house|strong="H1004" of Judah|strong="H3063" will hear|strong="H8085" all the evil|strong="H7451" which I purpose|strong="H2803" to do|strong="H6213" unto them; that they may return|strong="H7725" every man|strong="H0376" from his evil|strong="H7451" way|strong="H1870"; that I may forgive|strong="H5545" their iniquity|strong="H5771" and their sin|strong="H2403".
3 Talvez, quando o povo de Judá souber de cada uma das desgraças que planejo trazer sobre eles, cada um se converta de sua má conduta e eu perdoe a iniqüidade e o pecado deles".
4 Then Jeremiah|strong="H3414" called|strong="H7121" Baruch|strong="H1263" the son|strong="H1121" of Neriah|strong="H5374": and Baruch|strong="H1263" wrote|strong="H3789" from the mouth|strong="H6310" of Jeremiah|strong="H3414" all the words|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, which he had spoken|strong="H1696" unto him, upon a roll|strong="H4039" of a book|strong="H5612".
4 Então Jeremias chamou Baruque, filho de Nerias, para que escrevesse no rolo, conforme Jeremias ditava, todas as palavras que o Senhor lhe havia falado.
5 And Jeremiah|strong="H3414" commanded|strong="H6680" Baruch|strong="H1263", saying|strong="H0559", I am shut up|strong="H6113"; I cannot|strong="H3201" go|strong="H0935" into the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*:
5 Depois Jeremias disse a Baruque: "Estou preso; não posso ir ao templo do Senhor.
6 Therefore go|strong="H0935" thou, and read|strong="H7121" in the roll|strong="H4039", which thou hast written|strong="H3789" from my mouth|strong="H6310", the words|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* in the ears|strong="H0241" of the people|strong="H5971" in the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* house|strong="H1004" upon the fasting|strong="H6685" day|strong="H3117": and also thou shalt read|strong="H7121" them in the ears|strong="H0241" of all Judah|strong="H3063" that come out|strong="H0935" of their cities|strong="H5892".
6 Por isso, vá ao templo do Senhor no dia do jejum e leia ao povo as palavras do Senhor que eu ditei, as quais você escreveu. Você também as lerá a todo o povo de Judá que vem de suas cidades.
7 It may be they will present|strong="H5307" their supplication|strong="H8467" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and will return|strong="H7725" every one|strong="H0376" from his evil|strong="H7451" way|strong="H1870": for great|strong="H1419" is the anger|strong="H0639" and the fury|strong="H2534" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath pronounced|strong="H1696" against this people|strong="H5971".
7 Talvez a súplica deles chegue diante do Senhor, e cada um se converta de sua má conduta, pois é grande o furor anunciado pelo Senhor contra este povo".
8 And Baruch|strong="H1263" the son|strong="H1121" of Neriah|strong="H5374" did|strong="H6213" according to all that Jeremiah|strong="H3414" the prophet|strong="H5030" commanded|strong="H6680" him, reading|strong="H7121" in the book|strong="H5612" the words|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* in the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* house|strong="H1004".
8 E Baruque, filho de Nerias, fez exatamente tudo aquilo que o profeta Jeremias lhe mandou fazer, e leu as palavras do Senhor.
9 And it came to pass in the fifth|strong="H2549" year|strong="H8141" of Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" the son|strong="H1121" of Josiah|strong="H2977" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", in the ninth|strong="H8671" month|strong="H2320", that they proclaimed|strong="H7121" a fast|strong="H6685" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to all the people|strong="H5971" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and to all the people|strong="H5971" that came|strong="H0935" from the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063" unto Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
9 No nono mês do quinto ano do reinado de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, foi proclamado um jejum perante o Senhor para todo o povo de Jerusalém e para todo o povo que vinha das cidades de Judá para Jerusalém.
10 Then read|strong="H7121" Baruch|strong="H1263" in the book|strong="H5612" the words|strong="H1697" of Jeremiah|strong="H3414" in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, in the chamber|strong="H3957" of Gemariah|strong="H1587" the son|strong="H1121" of Shaphan|strong="H8227" the scribe|strong="H5608", in the higher|strong="H5945" court|strong="H2691", at the entry|strong="H6607" of the new|strong="H2319" gate|strong="H8179" of the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* house|strong="H1004", in the ears|strong="H0241" of all the people|strong="H5971".
10 Baruque leu a todo o povo as palavras de Jeremias escritas no rolo. Ele as leu no templo do Senhor, da sala de Gemarias, filho do secretário Safã. A sala ficava no pátio superior, na porta Nova do templo.
11 When Michaiah|strong="H4321" the son|strong="H1121" of Gemariah|strong="H1587", the son|strong="H1121" of Shaphan|strong="H8227", had heard|strong="H8085" out of the book|strong="H5612" all the words|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*,
11 Quando Micaías, filho de Gemarias, filho de Safã, ouviu todas as palavras do Senhor,
12 Then he went down|strong="H3381" into the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", into the scribe’s|strong="H5608" chamber|strong="H3957": and, lo, all the princes|strong="H8269" sat|strong="H3427" there, even Elishama|strong="H0476" the scribe|strong="H5608", and Delaiah|strong="H1806" the son|strong="H1121" of Shemaiah|strong="H8098", and Elnathan|strong="H0494" the son|strong="H1121" of Achbor|strong="H5907", and Gemariah|strong="H1587" the son|strong="H1121" of Shaphan|strong="H8227", and Zedekiah|strong="H6667" the son|strong="H1121" of Hananiah|strong="H2608", and all the princes|strong="H8269".
12 desceu à sala do secretário, no palácio real, onde todos os líderes estavam sentados: o secretário Elisama, Delaías, filho de Semaías, Elnatã, filho de Acbor, Gemarias, filho de Safã, Zedequias, filho de Hananias, e todos os outros líderes.
13 Then Michaiah|strong="H4321" declared|strong="H5046" unto them all the words|strong="H1697" that he had heard|strong="H8085", when Baruch|strong="H1263" read|strong="H7121" the book|strong="H5612" in the ears|strong="H0241" of the people|strong="H5971".
13 Micaías relatou-lhes tudo o que tinha ouvido quando Baruque leu ao povo o que estava escrito.
14 Therefore all the princes|strong="H8269" sent|strong="H7971" Jehudi|strong="H3065" the son|strong="H1121" of Nethaniah|strong="H5418", the son|strong="H1121" of Shelemiah|strong="H8018", the son|strong="H1121" of Cushi|strong="H3570", unto Baruch|strong="H1263", saying|strong="H0559", Take|strong="H3947" in thine hand|strong="H3027" the roll|strong="H4039" wherein thou hast read|strong="H7121" in the ears|strong="H0241" of the people|strong="H5971", and come|strong="H3212". So Baruch|strong="H1263" the son|strong="H1121" of Neriah|strong="H5374" took|strong="H3947" the roll|strong="H4039" in his hand|strong="H3027", and came|strong="H0935" unto them.
14 Então todos os líderes mandaram por intermédio de Jeudi, filho de Netanias, neto de Selemias, bisneto de Cuchi, a seguinte mensagem a Baruque: "Pegue o rolo que você leu ao povo e venha aqui". Baruque, filho de Nerias, pegou o rolo e foi até eles.
15 And they said|strong="H0559" unto him, Sit down|strong="H3427" now, and read|strong="H7121" it in our ears|strong="H0241". So Baruch|strong="H1263" read|strong="H7121" it in their ears|strong="H0241".
15 Disseram-lhe: "Sente-se, e leia-o para nós". Então Baruque o leu para eles.
16 Now it came to pass, when they had heard|strong="H8085" all the words|strong="H1697", they were afraid|strong="H6342" both|strong="H0413" one|strong="H0376" and other|strong="H7453", and said|strong="H0559" unto Baruch|strong="H1263", We will surely|strong="H5046" tell|strong="H5046" the king|strong="H4428" of all these words|strong="H1697".
16 Quando ouviram todas aquelas palavras, entreolharam-se com medo e disseram a Baruque: "É absolutamente necessário que relatemos ao rei todas essas palavras".
17 And they asked|strong="H7592" Baruch|strong="H1263", saying|strong="H0559", Tell|strong="H5046" us now, How didst thou write|strong="H3789" all these words|strong="H1697" at his mouth|strong="H6310"?
17 Perguntaram a Baruque: "Diga-nos, como você escreveu tudo isso? Foi Jeremias quem o ditou a você? "
18 Then Baruch|strong="H1263" answered|strong="H0559" them, He pronounced|strong="H7121" all these words|strong="H1697" unto me with his mouth|strong="H6310", and I wrote|strong="H3789" them with ink|strong="H1773" in the book|strong="H5612".
18 "Sim", Baruque respondeu, "ele ditou todas essas palavras, e eu as escrevi com tinta no rolo. "
19 Then said|strong="H0559" the princes|strong="H8269" unto Baruch|strong="H1263", Go|strong="H3212", hide|strong="H5641" thee, thou and Jeremiah|strong="H3414"; and let no man|strong="H0376" know|strong="H3045" where|strong="H0375" ye be.
19 Os líderes disseram a Baruque: "Vá esconder-se com Jeremias; e que ninguém saiba onde vocês estão".
20 And they went in|strong="H0935" to the king|strong="H4428" into the court|strong="H2691", but they laid up|strong="H6485" the roll|strong="H4039" in the chamber|strong="H3957" of Elishama|strong="H0476" the scribe|strong="H5608", and told|strong="H5046" all the words|strong="H1697" in the ears|strong="H0241" of the king|strong="H4428".
20 Então deixaram o rolo na sala de Elisama, o secretário, e foram ao pátio do palácio real, e relataram tudo ao rei.
21 So the king|strong="H4428" sent|strong="H7971" Jehudi|strong="H3065" to fetch|strong="H3947" the roll|strong="H4039": and he took|strong="H3947" it out of Elishama|strong="H0476" the scribe’s|strong="H5608" chamber|strong="H3957". And Jehudi|strong="H3065" read|strong="H7121" it in the ears|strong="H0241" of the king|strong="H4428", and in the ears|strong="H0241" of all the princes|strong="H8269" which stood|strong="H5975" beside|strong="H5921" the king|strong="H4428".
21 O rei mandou Jeudi pegar o rolo, e Jeudi o trouxe da sala de Elisama, o secretário, e o leu ao rei e a todos os líderes que estavam a seu serviço.
22 Now the king|strong="H4428" sat|strong="H3427" in the winterhouse|strong="H1004" in the ninth|strong="H8671" month|strong="H2320": and there was a fire on the hearth|strong="H0254" burning|strong="H1197" before|strong="H6440" him.
22 Isso aconteceu no nono mês. O rei estava sentado em seu apartamento do inverno, perto de um braseiro aceso.
23 And it came to pass, that when Jehudi|strong="H3065" had read|strong="H7121" three|strong="H7969" or four|strong="H0702" leaves|strong="H1817", he cut|strong="H7167" it with the penknife|strong="H8593", and cast|strong="H7993" it into the fire|strong="H0784" that was on the hearth|strong="H0254", until all the roll|strong="H4039" was consumed|strong="H8552" in the fire|strong="H0784" that was on the hearth|strong="H0254".
23 Assim que Jeudi terminava de ler três ou quatro colunas, o rei as cortava com uma faca de escrivão e as atirava no braseiro, até que o rolo inteiro foi queimado no braseiro.
24 Yet they were not afraid|strong="H6342", nor rent|strong="H7167" their garments|strong="H0899", neither the king|strong="H4428", nor any of his servants|strong="H5650" that heard|strong="H8085" all these words|strong="H1697".
24 O rei e todos os seus conselheiros que ouviram todas aquelas palavras não ficaram alarmados nem rasgaram as suas roupas, lamentando-se.
25 Nevertheless Elnathan|strong="H0494" and Delaiah|strong="H1806" and Gemariah|strong="H1587" had made intercession|strong="H6293" to the king|strong="H4428" that he would not burn|strong="H8313" the roll|strong="H4039": but he would not hear|strong="H8085" them.
25 Embora Elnatã, Delaías e Gemarias tivessem insistido com o rei que não queimasse o rolo, ele não quis ouvi-los.
26 But the king|strong="H4428" commanded|strong="H6680" Jerahmeel|strong="H3396" the son|strong="H1121" of Hammelech|strong="H4429", and Seraiah|strong="H8304" the son|strong="H1121" of Azriel|strong="H5837", and Shelemiah|strong="H8018" the son|strong="H1121" of Abdeel|strong="H5655", to take|strong="H3947" Baruch|strong="H1263" the scribe|strong="H5608" and Jeremiah|strong="H3414" the prophet|strong="H5030": but the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hid|strong="H5641" them.
26 Em vez disso, o rei ordenou a Jerameel, filho do rei, Seraías, filho de Azriel, e Selemias, filho de Abdeel, que prendessem o escriba Baruque e o profeta Jeremias. Mas o Senhor os tinha escondido.
27 Then the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came to Jeremiah|strong="H3414", after|strong="H0310" that the king|strong="H4428" had burned|strong="H8313" the roll|strong="H4039", and the words|strong="H1697" which Baruch|strong="H1263" wrote|strong="H3789" at the mouth|strong="H6310" of Jeremiah|strong="H3414", saying|strong="H0559",
27 Depois que o rei queimou o rolo que continha as palavras que Jeremias ditou e Baruque escreveu, o Senhor dirigiu esta palavra a Jeremias:
28 Take|strong="H3947" thee again|strong="H7725" another|strong="H0312" roll|strong="H4039", and write|strong="H3789" in it all the former|strong="H7223" words|strong="H1697" that were in the first|strong="H7223" roll|strong="H4039", which Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" the king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" hath burned|strong="H8313".
28 "Pegue outro rolo e escreva nele todas as palavras que estavam no primeiro, que Jeoaquim, rei de Judá, queimou.
29 And thou shalt say|strong="H0559" to Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; Thou hast burned|strong="H8313" this roll|strong="H4039", saying|strong="H0559", Why hast thou written|strong="H3789" therein, saying|strong="H0559", The king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" shall certainly|strong="H0935" come|strong="H0935" and destroy|strong="H7843" this land|strong="H0776", and shall cause to cease|strong="H7673" from thence man|strong="H0120" and beast|strong="H0929"?
29 Também diga a Jeoaquim, rei de Judá: ‘Assim diz o Senhor: Você queimou aquele rolo e perguntou: "Por que você escreveu nele que o rei da Babilônia virá e destruirá esta terra e dela eliminará tanto homens como animais? "
30 Therefore thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"; He shall have none to sit|strong="H3427" upon the throne|strong="H3678" of David|strong="H1732": and his dead body|strong="H5038" shall be cast out|strong="H7993" in the day|strong="H3117" to the heat|strong="H2721", and in the night|strong="H3915" to the frost|strong="H7140".
30 Pois assim diz o Senhor acerca de Jeoaquim, rei de Judá: Ele não terá nenhum descendente para sentar-se no trono de Davi; seu corpo será lançado fora e exposto ao calor de dia e à geada de noite.
31 And I will punish|strong="H6485" him and his seed|strong="H2233" and his servants|strong="H5650" for their iniquity|strong="H5771"; and I will bring|strong="H0935" upon them, and upon the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and upon the men|strong="H0376" of Judah|strong="H3063", all the evil|strong="H7451" that I have pronounced|strong="H1696" against them; but they hearkened|strong="H8085" not.
31 Eu castigarei a ele, aos seus filhos e aos seus conselheiros por causa dos seus pecados. Trarei sobre eles e sobre os habitantes de Jerusalém e sobre os homens de Judá toda a desgraça que pronunciei contra eles, porquanto não me deram atenção’ ".
32 Then took|strong="H3947" Jeremiah|strong="H3414" another|strong="H0312" roll|strong="H4039", and gave|strong="H5414" it to Baruch|strong="H1263" the scribe|strong="H5608", the son|strong="H1121" of Neriah|strong="H5374"; who wrote|strong="H3789" therein from the mouth|strong="H6310" of Jeremiah|strong="H3414" all the words|strong="H1697" of the book|strong="H5612" which Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" had burned|strong="H8313" in the fire|strong="H0784": and there were added|strong="H3254" besides unto them many|strong="H7227" like|strong="H1992" words|strong="H1697".
32 Então Jeremias pegou outro rolo e o deu ao escriba Baruque, filho de Nerias, para que escrevesse nele, conforme Jeremias ditava, todas as palavras do livro que Jeoaquim, rei de Judá, tinha queimado, além de muitas outras palavras semelhantes que foram acrescentadas.
