1 Então Zofar, de Naamá, respondeu a Jó:
2 Should not the multitude|strong="H7230" of words|strong="H1697" be answered|strong="H6030"? and should a man|strong="H0376" full of talk|strong="H8193" be justified|strong="H6663"?
2 “Não haverá resposta a essa torrente de palavras? Uma pessoa é inocentada só por falar muito?
3 Should thy lies|strong="H0907" make|strong="H2790" men|strong="H4962" hold their peace|strong="H2790"? and when thou mockest|strong="H3932", shall no man make thee ashamed|strong="H3637"?
3 Devem todos calar-se enquanto você continua a tagarelar? Quando zomba de Deus, ninguém o repreenderá?
4 For thou hast said|strong="H0559", My doctrine|strong="H3948" is pure|strong="H2134", and I am clean|strong="H1249" in thine eyes|strong="H5869".
4 Você afirma: ‘Minhas crenças são puras’ e ‘Sou limpo aos olhos de Deus’.
5 But|strong="H0199" oh that|strong="H5414" God|strong="H0433" would speak|strong="H1696", and open|strong="H6605" his lips|strong="H8193" against thee;
5 Se ao menos Deus se pronunciasse e lhe dissesse o que pensa!
6 And that he would shew|strong="H5046" thee the secrets|strong="H8587" of wisdom|strong="H2451", that they are double|strong="H3718" to that which is|strong="H8454"! Know|strong="H3045" therefore that God|strong="H0433" exacteth|strong="H5382" of thee less than thine iniquity|strong="H5771" deserveth.
6 Se ao menos lhe revelasse os segredos da sabedoria, pois a verdadeira sabedoria não é coisa simples! Escute! Deus sem dúvida o está castigando muito menos do que você merece.
7 Canst thou by searching|strong="H2714" find out|strong="H4672" God|strong="H0433"? canst thou find|strong="H4672" out the Almighty|strong="H7706" unto perfection|strong="H8503"?
7 “Acaso você pode desvendar os mistérios de Deus e descobrir tudo sobre o Todo-poderoso?
8 It is as high|strong="H1363" as heaven|strong="H8064"; what canst thou do|strong="H6466"? deeper|strong="H6013" than hell|strong="H7585"; what canst thou know|strong="H3045"?
8 Esse conhecimento é mais alto que os céus, e o que você pode fazer? É mais profundo que o abismo, e o que você pode saber?
9 The measure|strong="H4055" thereof is longer|strong="H0752" than the earth|strong="H0776", and broader|strong="H7342" than the sea|strong="H3220".
9 É mais vasto que a terra e mais amplo que o mar.
10 If he cut off|strong="H2498", and shut up|strong="H5462", or gather together|strong="H6950", then who can hinder|strong="H7725" him?
10 Se Deus passa e prende alguém ou convoca o tribunal, quem pode detê-lo?
11 For he knoweth|strong="H3045" vain|strong="H7723" men|strong="H4962": he seeth|strong="H7200" wickedness|strong="H0205" also; will he not then consider|strong="H0995" it?
11 Pois ele conhece os falsos e registra seus pecados.
12 For vain|strong="H5014" man|strong="H0376" would be wise|strong="H3823", though man|strong="H0120" be born|strong="H3205" like a wild ass’s|strong="H6501" colt|strong="H5895".
12 É tão impossível um tolo tornar-se sábio como um jumento selvagem dar à luz uma criança.
13 If thou prepare|strong="H3559" thine heart|strong="H3820", and stretch|strong="H6566" out thine hands|strong="H3709" toward him;
13 “Se ao menos você preparasse o coração e levantasse as mãos a Deus em oração!
14 If iniquity|strong="H0205" be in thine hand|strong="H3027", put it far away|strong="H7368", and let not wickedness|strong="H5766" dwell|strong="H7931" in thy tabernacles|strong="H0168".
14 Livre-se de seus pecados e deixe toda a maldade para trás.
15 For then shalt thou lift up|strong="H5375" thy face|strong="H6440" without spot|strong="H3971"; yea, thou shalt be stedfast|strong="H3332", and shalt not fear|strong="H3372":
15 Então seu rosto se iluminará com a inocência; você será forte e não terá medo.
16 Because thou shalt forget|strong="H7911" thy misery|strong="H5999", and remember|strong="H2142" it as waters|strong="H4325" that pass away|strong="H5674":
16 Você se esquecerá de seus sofrimentos; serão como águas passadas.
17 And thine age|strong="H2465" shall be clearer|strong="H6965" than the noonday|strong="H6672"; thou shalt shine forth|strong="H5774", thou shalt be as the morning|strong="H1242".
17 Sua vida será mais luminosa que o meio-dia; até a escuridão será clara como a manhã.
18 And thou shalt be secure|strong="H0982", because there is|strong="H3426" hope|strong="H8615"; yea, thou shalt dig|strong="H2658" about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest|strong="H7901" in safety|strong="H0983".
18 Você se sentirá seguro, pois terá esperança; estará protegido e descansará tranquilo.
19 Also thou shalt lie down|strong="H7257", and none shall make thee afraid|strong="H2729"; yea, many|strong="H7227" shall make suit|strong="H2470" unto thee|strong="H6440".
19 Sem medo se deitará, e muitos buscarão sua ajuda.
20 But the eyes|strong="H5869" of the wicked|strong="H7563" shall fail|strong="H3615", and they shall not escape|strong="H0006", and their hope|strong="H8615" shall be as the giving up|strong="H4646" of the ghost|strong="H5315".
20 Os perversos, porém, ficarão cegos, sem ter para onde fugir; sua única esperança será a morte”.
