2 My doctrine|strong="H3948" shall drop|strong="H6201" as the rain|strong="H4306", my speech|strong="H0565" shall distil|strong="H5140" as the dew|strong="H2919", as the small rain|strong="H8164" upon the tender herb|strong="H1877", and as the showers|strong="H7241" upon the grass|strong="H6212":
3 Because I will publish|strong="H7121" the name|strong="H8034" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: ascribe|strong="H3051" ye greatness|strong="H1433" unto our God|strong="H0430".
4 He is the Rock|strong="H6697", his work|strong="H6467" is perfect|strong="H8549": for all his ways|strong="H1870" are judgment|strong="H4941": a God|strong="H0410" of truth|strong="H0530" and without iniquity|strong="H5766", just|strong="H6662" and right|strong="H3477" is he.
5 They have corrupted|strong="H7843" themselves, their spot|strong="H3971" is not the spot of his children|strong="H1121": they are a perverse|strong="H6141" and crooked|strong="H6618" generation|strong="H1755".
6 Do ye thus requite|strong="H1580" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, O foolish|strong="H5036" people|strong="H5971" and unwise|strong="H2450"? is not he thy father|strong="H0001" that hath bought|strong="H7069" thee? hath he not made|strong="H6213" thee, and established|strong="H3559" thee?
7 Remember|strong="H2142" the days|strong="H3117" of old|strong="H5769", consider|strong="H0995" the years|strong="H8141" of many|strong="H1755" generations|strong="H1755": ask|strong="H7592" thy father|strong="H0001", and he will shew|strong="H5046" thee; thy elders|strong="H2205", and they will tell|strong="H0559" thee.
8 When the most High|strong="H5945" divided|strong="H5157" to the nations|strong="H1471" their inheritance|strong="H5157", when he separated|strong="H6504" the sons|strong="H1121" of Adam|strong="H0120", he set|strong="H5324" the bounds|strong="H1367" of the people|strong="H5971" according to the number|strong="H4557" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478".
9 For the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* portion|strong="H2506" is his people|strong="H5971"; Jacob|strong="H3290" is the lot|strong="H2256" of his inheritance|strong="H5159".
10 He found|strong="H4672" him in a desert|strong="H4057" land|strong="H0776", and in the waste|strong="H8414" howling|strong="H3214" wilderness|strong="H3452"; he led him about|strong="H5437", he instructed|strong="H0995" him, he kept|strong="H5341" him as the apple|strong="H0380" of his eye|strong="H5869".
11 As an eagle|strong="H5404" stirreth up|strong="H5782" her nest|strong="H7064", fluttereth|strong="H7363" over her young|strong="H1469", spreadeth abroad|strong="H6566" her wings|strong="H3671", taketh|strong="H3947" them, beareth|strong="H5375" them on her wings|strong="H0084":
12 So the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* alone|strong="H0910" did lead|strong="H5148" him, and there was no strange|strong="H5236" god|strong="H0410" with him.
13 He made him ride|strong="H7392" on the high places|strong="H1116" of the earth|strong="H0776", that he might eat|strong="H0398" the increase|strong="H8570" of the fields|strong="H7704"; and he made him to suck|strong="H3243" honey|strong="H1706" out of the rock|strong="H5553", and oil|strong="H8081" out of the flinty|strong="H2496" rock|strong="H6697";
14 Butter|strong="H2529" of kine|strong="H1241", and milk|strong="H2461" of sheep|strong="H6629", with fat|strong="H2459" of lambs|strong="H3733", and rams|strong="H0352" of the breed|strong="H1121" of Bashan|strong="H1316", and goats|strong="H6260", with the fat|strong="H2459" of kidneys|strong="H3629" of wheat|strong="H2406"; and thou didst drink|strong="H8354" the pure|strong="H2561" blood|strong="H1818" of the grape|strong="H6025".
15 But Jeshurun|strong="H3484" waxed fat|strong="H8080", and kicked|strong="H1163": thou art waxen fat|strong="H8080", thou art grown thick|strong="H5666", thou art covered|strong="H3780" with fatness; then he forsook|strong="H5203" God|strong="H0433" which made|strong="H6213" him, and lightly esteemed|strong="H5034" the Rock|strong="H6697" of his salvation|strong="H3444".
16 They provoked him to jealousy|strong="H7065" with strange|strong="H2114" gods, with abominations|strong="H8441" provoked they him to anger|strong="H3707".
17 They sacrificed|strong="H2076" unto devils|strong="H7700", not to God|strong="H0433"; to gods|strong="H0430" whom they knew|strong="H3045" not, to new|strong="H2319" gods that came|strong="H0935" newly|strong="H7138" up|strong="H0935", whom your fathers|strong="H0001" feared|strong="H8175" not.
18 Of the Rock|strong="H6697" that begat|strong="H3205" thee thou art unmindful|strong="H7876", and hast forgotten|strong="H7911" God|strong="H0410" that formed|strong="H2342" thee.
19 And when the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* saw|strong="H7200" it, he abhorred|strong="H5006" them, because of the provoking|strong="H3708" of his sons|strong="H1121", and of his daughters|strong="H1323".
20 And he said|strong="H0559", I will hide|strong="H5641" my face|strong="H6440" from them, I will see|strong="H7200" what their end|strong="H0319" shall be: for they are a very froward|strong="H8419" generation|strong="H1755", children|strong="H1121" in whom is no faith|strong="H0529".
21 They have moved me to jealousy|strong="H7065" with that which is not|strong="H3808" God|strong="H0410"; they have provoked me to anger|strong="H3707" with their vanities|strong="H1892": and I will move them to jealousy|strong="H7065" with those which are not a people|strong="H5971"; I will provoke them to anger|strong="H3707" with a foolish|strong="H5036" nation|strong="H1471".
22 For a fire|strong="H0784" is kindled|strong="H6919" in mine anger|strong="H0639", and shall burn|strong="H3344" unto the lowest|strong="H8482" hell|strong="H7585", and shall consume|strong="H0398" the earth|strong="H0776" with her increase|strong="H2981", and set on fire|strong="H3857" the foundations|strong="H4144" of the mountains|strong="H2022".
23 I will heap|strong="H5595" mischiefs|strong="H7451" upon them; I will spend|strong="H3615" mine arrows|strong="H2671" upon them.
24 They shall be burnt|strong="H4198" with hunger|strong="H7458", and devoured|strong="H3898" with burning heat|strong="H7565", and with bitter|strong="H4815" destruction|strong="H6986": I will also send|strong="H7971" the teeth|strong="H8127" of beasts|strong="H0929" upon them, with the poison|strong="H2534" of serpents|strong="H2119" of the dust|strong="H6083".
25 The sword|strong="H2719" without|strong="H2351", and terror|strong="H0367" within|strong="H2315", shall destroy|strong="H7921" both the young man|strong="H0970" and the virgin|strong="H1330", the suckling|strong="H3243" also with the man|strong="H0376" of gray hairs|strong="H7872".
26 I said|strong="H0559", I would scatter them into corners|strong="H6284", I would make the remembrance|strong="H2143" of them to cease|strong="H7673" from among men|strong="H0582":
27 Were it not|strong="H3884" that I feared|strong="H1481" the wrath|strong="H3708" of the enemy|strong="H0341", lest their adversaries|strong="H6862" should behave themselves strangely|strong="H5234", and lest they should say|strong="H0559", Our hand|strong="H3027" is high|strong="H7311", and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath not done|strong="H6466" all this.
28 For they are a nation|strong="H1471" void|strong="H0006" of counsel|strong="H6098", neither is there any understanding|strong="H8394" in them.
29 O that|strong="H3863" they were wise|strong="H2449", that they understood|strong="H7919" this, that they would consider|strong="H0995" their latter end|strong="H0319"!
30 How should one|strong="H0259" chase|strong="H7291" a thousand|strong="H0505", and two|strong="H8147" put ten|strong="H7233" thousand|strong="H0505" to flight|strong="H5127", except|strong="H3808" their Rock|strong="H6697" had sold|strong="H4376" them|strong="H3588", and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* had shut them up|strong="H5462"?
31 For their rock|strong="H6697" is not as our Rock|strong="H6697", even our enemies|strong="H0341" themselves being judges|strong="H6414".
32 For their vine|strong="H1612" is of the vine|strong="H1612" of Sodom|strong="H5467", and of the fields|strong="H7709" of Gomorrah|strong="H6017": their grapes|strong="H6025" are grapes|strong="H6025" of gall|strong="H7219", their clusters|strong="H0811" are bitter|strong="H4846":
33 Their wine|strong="H3196" is the poison|strong="H2534" of dragons|strong="H8577", and the cruel|strong="H0393" venom|strong="H7219" of asps|strong="H6620".
34 Is not this laid up in store|strong="H3647" with me, and sealed up|strong="H2856" among my treasures|strong="H0214"?
35 To me belongeth vengeance|strong="H5359", and recompence|strong="H8005"; their foot|strong="H7272" shall slide|strong="H4131" in due time|strong="H6256": for the day|strong="H3117" of their calamity|strong="H0343" is at hand|strong="H7138", and the things that shall come|strong="H6264" upon them make haste|strong="H2363".
36 For the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall judge|strong="H1777" his people|strong="H5971", and repent|strong="H5162" himself for his servants|strong="H5650", when he seeth|strong="H7200" that their power|strong="H3027" is gone|strong="H0235", and there is none|strong="H0657" shut up|strong="H6113", or left|strong="H5800".
37 And he shall say|strong="H0559", Where are their gods|strong="H0430", their rock|strong="H6697" in whom they trusted|strong="H2620",
38 Which did eat|strong="H0398" the fat|strong="H2459" of their sacrifices|strong="H2077", and drank|strong="H8354" the wine|strong="H3196" of their drink offerings|strong="H5257"? let them rise up|strong="H6965" and help|strong="H5826" you, and be your protection|strong="H5643".
39 See|strong="H7200" now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god|strong="H0430" with me: I kill|strong="H4191", and I make alive|strong="H2421"; I wound|strong="H4272", and I heal|strong="H7495": neither is there any that can deliver|strong="H5337" out of my hand|strong="H3027".
40 For I lift up|strong="H5375" my hand|strong="H3027" to heaven|strong="H8064", and say|strong="H0559", I live|strong="H2416" for ever|strong="H5769".
41 If I whet|strong="H8150" my glittering|strong="H1300" sword|strong="H2719", and mine hand|strong="H3027" take hold|strong="H0270" on judgment|strong="H4941"; I will render|strong="H7725" vengeance|strong="H5359" to mine enemies|strong="H6862", and will reward|strong="H7999" them that hate|strong="H8130" me.
42 I will make mine arrows|strong="H2671" drunk|strong="H7937" with blood|strong="H1818", and my sword|strong="H2719" shall devour|strong="H0398" flesh|strong="H1320"; and that with the blood|strong="H1818" of the slain|strong="H2491" and of the captives|strong="H7633", from the beginning|strong="H7218" of revenges|strong="H6546" upon the enemy|strong="H0341".
43 Rejoice|strong="H7442", O ye nations|strong="H1471", with his people|strong="H5971": for he will avenge|strong="H5358" the blood|strong="H1818" of his servants|strong="H5650", and will render|strong="H7725" vengeance|strong="H5359" to his adversaries|strong="H6862", and will be merciful|strong="H3722" unto his land|strong="H0127", and to his people|strong="H5971".
44 And Moses|strong="H4872" came|strong="H0935" and spake|strong="H1696" all the words|strong="H1697" of this song|strong="H7892" in the ears|strong="H0241" of the people|strong="H5971", he, and Hoshea|strong="H1954" the son|strong="H1121" of Nun|strong="H5126".
45 And Moses|strong="H4872" made an end|strong="H3615" of speaking|strong="H1696" all these words|strong="H1697" to all Israel|strong="H3478":

47 For it is not a vain|strong="H7386" thing|strong="H1697" for you; because it is your life|strong="H2416": and through this thing|strong="H1697" ye shall prolong|strong="H0748" your days|strong="H3117" in the land|strong="H0127", whither ye go over|strong="H5674" Jordan|strong="H3383" to possess|strong="H3423" it.
