1 Esta mensagem acerca de Israel foi dada a Amós, pastor de ovelhas da cidade de Tecoa, em Judá. Ele a recebeu em visões dois anos antes do terremoto, quando Uzias era rei de Judá, e Jeroboão, filho de Jeoás, era rei de Israel.
2 And he said|strong="H0559", The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will roar|strong="H7580" from Zion|strong="H6726", and utter|strong="H5414" his voice|strong="H6963" from Jerusalem|strong="H3389"; and the habitations|strong="H4999" of the shepherds|strong="H7462" shall mourn|strong="H0056", and the top|strong="H7218" of Carmel|strong="H3760" shall wither|strong="H3001".
2 Foi isto que ele viu e ouviu: “A voz do S e trovejará desde Jerusalém! Os pastos verdes dos pastores secarão, e o capim no monte Carmelo murchará e morrerá”.
3 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; For three|strong="H7969" transgressions|strong="H6588" of Damascus|strong="H1834", and for four|strong="H0702", I will not turn away|strong="H7725" the punishment thereof; because they have threshed|strong="H1758" Gilead|strong="H1568" with threshing instruments|strong="H2742" of iron|strong="H1270":
3 Assim diz o S enhor : “Os habitantes de Damasco pecaram repetidamente; não deixarei que fiquem impunes! Feriram meu povo em Gileade, como o cereal é debulhado com trilhos de ferro.
4 But I will send|strong="H7971" a fire|strong="H0784" into the house|strong="H1004" of Hazael|strong="H2371", which shall devour|strong="H0398" the palaces|strong="H0759" of Ben-hadad|strong="H1130".
4 Por isso enviarei fogo sobre o palácio do rei Hazael, e as fortalezas do rei Ben-Hadade serão destruídas.
5 I will break|strong="H7665" also the bar|strong="H1280" of Damascus|strong="H1834", and cut off|strong="H3772" the inhabitant|strong="H3427" from the plain|strong="H1237" of Aven|strong="H0206", and him that holdeth|strong="H8551" the sceptre|strong="H7626" from the house|strong="H1004" of Eden|strong="H5731": and the people|strong="H5971" of Syria|strong="H0758" shall go into captivity|strong="H1540" unto Kir|strong="H7024", saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
5 Derrubarei os portões de Damasco e matarei todos que habitam no vale de Áven. Destruirei o governante em Bete-Éden, e o povo da Síria será levado como escravo para Quir”, diz o S
6 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; For three|strong="H7969" transgressions|strong="H6588" of Gaza|strong="H5804", and for four|strong="H0702", I will not turn away|strong="H7725" the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive|strong="H1540" the whole|strong="H8003" captivity|strong="H1546", to deliver them up|strong="H5462" to Edom|strong="H0123":
6 Assim diz o S enhor : “Os habitantes de Gaza pecaram repetidamente; não deixarei que fiquem impunes! Enviaram todo o povo para o exílio e o entregaram como escravos para Edom.
7 But I will send|strong="H7971" a fire|strong="H0784" on the wall|strong="H2346" of Gaza|strong="H5804", which shall devour|strong="H0398" the palaces|strong="H0759" thereof:
7 Por isso enviarei fogo sobre os muros de Gaza, e suas fortalezas serão destruídas.
8 And I will cut off|strong="H3772" the inhabitant|strong="H3427" from Ashdod|strong="H0795", and him that holdeth|strong="H8551" the sceptre|strong="H7626" from Ashkelon|strong="H0831", and I will turn|strong="H7725" mine hand|strong="H3027" against Ekron|strong="H6138": and the remnant|strong="H7611" of the Philistines|strong="H6430" shall perish|strong="H0006", saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*.
8 Matarei os que habitam em Asdode e destruirei o governante de Ascalom. Então me voltarei para atacar Ecrom, e os filisteus que restarem serão mortos”, diz o S
9 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; For three|strong="H7969" transgressions|strong="H6588" of Tyrus|strong="H6865", and for four|strong="H0702", I will not turn away|strong="H7725" the punishment thereof; because they delivered up|strong="H5462" the whole|strong="H8003" captivity|strong="H1546" to Edom|strong="H0123", and remembered|strong="H2142" not the brotherly|strong="H0251" covenant|strong="H1285":
9 Assim diz o S enhor : “Os habitantes de Tiro pecaram repetidamente; não deixarei que fiquem impunes! Quebraram o pacto de irmãos com Israel e entregaram todo o povo como escravo para Edom.
10 But I will send|strong="H7971" a fire|strong="H0784" on the wall|strong="H2346" of Tyrus|strong="H6865", which shall devour|strong="H0398" the palaces|strong="H0759" thereof.
10 Por isso enviarei fogo sobre os muros de Tiro, e suas fortalezas serão destruídas”.
11 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; For three|strong="H7969" transgressions|strong="H6588" of Edom|strong="H0123", and for four|strong="H0702", I will not turn away|strong="H7725" the punishment thereof; because he did pursue|strong="H7291" his brother|strong="H0251" with the sword|strong="H2719", and did cast off|strong="H7843" all pity|strong="H7356", and his anger|strong="H0639" did tear|strong="H2963" perpetually|strong="H5703", and he kept|strong="H8104" his wrath|strong="H5678" for ever|strong="H5331":
11 Assim diz o S enhor : “Os habitantes de Edom pecaram repetidamente; não deixarei que fiquem impunes! Com espadas perseguiram seus parentes, os israelitas, e não tiveram compaixão deles. Em sua fúria, os despedaçaram sem parar e foram implacáveis em sua ira.
12 But I will send|strong="H7971" a fire|strong="H0784" upon Teman|strong="H8487", which shall devour|strong="H0398" the palaces|strong="H0759" of Bozrah|strong="H1224".
12 Por isso enviarei fogo sobre Temã, e as fortalezas de Bozra serão destruídas”.
13 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; For three|strong="H7969" transgressions|strong="H6588" of the children|strong="H1121" of Ammon|strong="H5983", and for four|strong="H0702", I will not turn away|strong="H7725" the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up|strong="H1234" the women with child|strong="H2030" of Gilead|strong="H1568", that they might enlarge|strong="H7337" their border|strong="H1366":
13 Assim diz o S enhor : “Os habitantes de Amom pecaram repetidamente; não deixarei que fiquem impunes! Quando atacaram Gileade para ampliar suas fronteiras, abriram as mulheres grávidas ao meio com espadas.
14 But I will kindle|strong="H3341" a fire|strong="H0784" in the wall|strong="H2346" of Rabbah|strong="H7237", and it shall devour|strong="H0398" the palaces|strong="H0759" thereof, with shouting|strong="H8643" in the day|strong="H3117" of battle|strong="H4421", with a tempest|strong="H5591" in the day|strong="H3117" of the whirlwind|strong="H5492":
14 Por isso enviarei fogo sobre os muros de Rabá, e suas fortalezas serão destruídas. A batalha virá sobre eles com gritos, como um redemoinho numa forte tempestade.
15 And their king|strong="H4428" shall go|strong="H1980" into captivity|strong="H1473", he and his princes|strong="H8269" together|strong="H3162", saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
