Amós 2

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; For three|strong="H7969" transgressions|strong="H6588" of Moab|strong="H4124", and for four|strong="H0702", I will not turn away|strong="H7725" the punishment thereof; because he burned|strong="H8313" the bones|strong="H6106" of the king|strong="H4428" of Edom|strong="H0123" into lime|strong="H7875":

But I will send|strong="H7971" a fire|strong="H0784" upon Moab|strong="H4124", and it shall devour|strong="H0398" the palaces|strong="H0759" of Kerioth|strong="H7152": and Moab|strong="H4124" shall die|strong="H4191" with tumult|strong="H7588", with shouting|strong="H8643", and with the sound|strong="H6963" of the trumpet|strong="H7782":

And I will cut off|strong="H3772" the judge|strong="H8199" from the midst|strong="H7130" thereof, and will slay|strong="H2026" all the princes|strong="H8269" thereof with him, saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; For three|strong="H7969" transgressions|strong="H6588" of Judah|strong="H3063", and for four|strong="H0702", I will not turn away|strong="H7725" the punishment thereof; because they have despised|strong="H3988" the law|strong="H8451" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and have not kept|strong="H8104" his commandments|strong="H2706", and their lies|strong="H3577" caused them to err|strong="H8582", after|strong="H0310" the which their fathers|strong="H0001" have walked|strong="H1980":

But I will send|strong="H7971" a fire|strong="H0784" upon Judah|strong="H3063", and it shall devour|strong="H0398" the palaces|strong="H0759" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389".

Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; For three|strong="H7969" transgressions|strong="H6588" of Israel|strong="H3478", and for four|strong="H0702", I will not turn away|strong="H7725" the punishment thereof; because they sold|strong="H4376" the righteous|strong="H6662" for silver|strong="H3701", and the poor|strong="H0034" for a pair of shoes|strong="H5275";

That pant|strong="H7602" after the dust|strong="H6083" of the earth|strong="H0776" on the head|strong="H7218" of the poor|strong="H1800", and turn aside|strong="H5186" the way|strong="H1870" of the meek|strong="H6035": and a man|strong="H0376" and his father|strong="H0001" will go|strong="H3212" in unto the same maid|strong="H5291", to profane|strong="H2490" my holy|strong="H6944" name|strong="H8034":

And they lay themselves down|strong="H5186" upon clothes|strong="H0899" laid to pledge|strong="H2254" by|strong="H0681" every altar|strong="H4196", and they drink|strong="H8354" the wine|strong="H3196" of the condemned|strong="H6064" in the house|strong="H1004" of their god|strong="H0430".

Yet destroyed|strong="H8045" I the Amorite|strong="H0567" before|strong="H6440" them, whose height|strong="H1363" was like the height|strong="H1363" of the cedars|strong="H0730", and he was strong|strong="H2634" as the oaks|strong="H0437"; yet I destroyed|strong="H8045" his fruit|strong="H6529" from above|strong="H4605", and his roots|strong="H8328" from beneath.

Also I brought you up|strong="H5927" from the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", and led|strong="H3212" you forty|strong="H0705" years|strong="H8141" through the wilderness|strong="H4057", to possess|strong="H3423" the land|strong="H0776" of the Amorite|strong="H0567".

And I raised up|strong="H6965" of your sons|strong="H1121" for prophets|strong="H5030", and of your young men|strong="H0970" for Nazarites|strong="H5139". Is it not even thus, O ye children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478"? saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

But ye gave the Nazarites|strong="H5139" wine|strong="H3196" to drink|strong="H8248"; and commanded|strong="H6680" the prophets|strong="H5030", saying|strong="H0559", Prophesy|strong="H5012" not.

Behold, I am pressed|strong="H5781" under you, as a cart|strong="H5699" is pressed|strong="H5781" that is full|strong="H4392" of sheaves|strong="H5995".

Therefore the flight|strong="H4498" shall perish|strong="H0006" from the swift|strong="H7031", and the strong|strong="H2389" shall not strengthen|strong="H0553" his force|strong="H3581", neither shall the mighty|strong="H1368" deliver|strong="H4422" himself|strong="H5315":

Neither shall he stand|strong="H5975" that handleth|strong="H8610" the bow|strong="H7198"; and he that is swift|strong="H7031" of foot|strong="H7272" shall not deliver|strong="H4422" himself: neither shall he that rideth|strong="H7392" the horse|strong="H5483" deliver|strong="H4422" himself|strong="H5315".

And he that is courageous|strong="H0533" among the mighty|strong="H1368" shall flee away|strong="H5127" naked|strong="H6174" in that day|strong="H3117", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
