6 Por essa razão, torno a lembrar-lhe que mantenha viva a chama do dom de Deus que está em você mediante a imposição das minhas mãos.

7 Pois Deus não nos deu espírito de covardia, mas de poder, de amor e de equilíbrio.

8 Portanto, não se envergonhe de testemunhar do Senhor, nem de mim, que sou prisioneiro dele, mas suporte comigo os sofrimentos pelo evangelho, segundo o poder de Deus,

9 que nos salvou e nos chamou com uma santa vocação, não em virtude das nossas obras, mas por causa da sua própria determinação e graça. Esta graça nos foi dada em Cristo Jesus desde os tempos eternos,

10 sendo agora revelada pela manifestação de nosso Salvador, Cristo Jesus. Ele tornou inoperante a morte e trouxe à luz a vida e a imortalidade por meio do evangelho.
11 Where|strong="G3739" unto|strong="G1519" I|strong="G1473" am appointed|strong="G5087" a preacher|strong="G2783", and|strong="G2532" an apostle|strong="G0652", and|strong="G2532" a teacher|strong="G1320" of the Gentiles|strong="G1484".
11 Deste evangelho fui constituído pregador, apóstolo e mestre.
12 For|strong="G1223" the which|strong="G3739" cause I|strong="G3958" also|strong="G2532" suffer these things|strong="G5023": nevertheless|strong="G0235" I am|strong="G1870" not|strong="G3756" ashamed|strong="G1870": for|strong="G1063" I know|strong="G1492" whom|strong="G3739" I have believed|strong="G4100", and|strong="G2532" am persuaded|strong="G3982" that|strong="G3754" he is|strong="G2076" able|strong="G1415" to keep|strong="G5442" that which|strong="G3866" I|strong="G3450" have committed|strong="G3866" unto him against|strong="G1519" that|strong="G1565" day|strong="G2250".
12 Por essa causa também sofro, mas não me envergonho, porque sei em quem tenho crido e estou bem certo de que ele é poderoso para guardar o meu depósito até aquele dia.
13 Hold fast|strong="G2192" the form|strong="G5296" of sound|strong="G5198" words|strong="G3056", which|strong="G3739" thou hast heard|strong="G0191" of|strong="G3844" me|strong="G1700", in|strong="G1722" faith|strong="G4102" and|strong="G2532" love|strong="G0026" which is|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424".
13 Retenha, com fé e amor em Cristo Jesus, o modelo da sã doutrina que você ouviu de mim.
14 That|strong="G3588" good thing|strong="G2570" which was committed unto thee|strong="G3872" keep|strong="G5442" by|strong="G1223" the Holy|strong="G0040" Ghost|strong="G4151" which dwelleth|strong="G1774" in|strong="G1722" us|strong="G2254".
14 Quanto ao bom depósito, guarde-o por meio do Espírito Santo que habita em nós.

15 Você sabe que todos os da província da Ásia me abandonaram, inclusive Fígelo e Hermógenes.
16 The Lord|strong="G2962" give|strong="G1325" mercy|strong="G1656" unto the house|strong="G3624" of Onesiphorus|strong="G3683"; for|strong="G3754" he|strong="G0404" oft|strong="G4178" refreshed|strong="G0404" me|strong="G3165", and|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1870" not|strong="G3756" ashamed|strong="G1870" of my|strong="G3450" chain|strong="G0254":
16 O Senhor conceda misericórdia à casa de Onesíforo, porque muitas vezes ele me reanimou e não se envergonhou por eu estar preso;
17 But|strong="G0235", when he was|strong="G1096" in|strong="G1722" Rome|strong="G4516", he sought|strong="G2212" me|strong="G3165" out|strong="G2212" very diligently|strong="G4706", and|strong="G2532" found|strong="G2147" me.
17 pelo contrário, quando chegou a Roma procurou-me diligentemente até me encontrar.

18 Conceda-lhe o Senhor que, naquele dia, encontre misericórdia da parte do Senhor! Você sabe muito bem quantos serviços ele me prestou em Éfeso.
