2 And|strong="G2532" the things that|strong="G3739" thou hast heard|strong="G0191" of|strong="G3844" me|strong="G1700" among|strong="G1223" many|strong="G4183" witnesses|strong="G3144", the same|strong="G5023" commit thou|strong="G3908" to faithful|strong="G4103" men|strong="G0444", who|strong="G3748" shall be|strong="G2071" able to|strong="G2425" teach|strong="G1321" others|strong="G2087" also|strong="G2532".
3 Thou|strong="G4771" therefore|strong="G3767" endure hardness|strong="G2553", as|strong="G5613" a good|strong="G2570" soldier|strong="G4757" of Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547".
4 No man|strong="G3762" that warreth|strong="G4754" entangleth himself|strong="G1707" with the affairs of|strong="G4230" this life|strong="G0979"; that|strong="G2443" he may please|strong="G0700" him who hath chosen him to be a soldier|strong="G4758".
5 And|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1437" a man|strong="G5100" also|strong="G2532" strive for masteries|strong="G0118", yet is he|strong="G4737" not|strong="G3756" crowned|strong="G4737", except|strong="G3361" he strive|strong="G0118" lawfully|strong="G3545".
6 The husbandman|strong="G1092" that laboureth|strong="G2872" must|strong="G1163" be|strong="G3335" first|strong="G4412" partaker|strong="G3335" of the fruits|strong="G2590".
7 Consider|strong="G3539" what|strong="G3739" I say|strong="G3004"; and|strong="G1063" the Lord|strong="G2962" give|strong="G1325" thee|strong="G4671" understanding|strong="G4907" in|strong="G1722" all things|strong="G3956".
8 Remember|strong="G3421" that|strong="G1453" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" of|strong="G1537" the seed|strong="G4690" of David|strong="G1138" was raised|strong="G1453" from|strong="G1537" the dead|strong="G3498" according to|strong="G2596" my|strong="G3450" gospel|strong="G2098":
9 Where|strong="G3739" in|strong="G1722" I suffer trouble|strong="G2553", as|strong="G5613" an evil doer|strong="G2557", even unto|strong="G3360" bonds|strong="G1199"; but|strong="G0235" the word|strong="G3056" of God|strong="G2316" is|strong="G1210" not|strong="G3756" bound|strong="G1210".
10 Therefore|strong="G1223" I endure|strong="G5278" all things|strong="G3956" for|strong="G1223" the elect’s|strong="G1588" sakes|strong="G1223", that|strong="G2443" they|strong="G0846" may|strong="G5177" also|strong="G2532" obtain|strong="G5177" the salvation|strong="G4991" which is|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424" with|strong="G3326" eternal|strong="G0166" glory|strong="G1391".
11 It is a faithful|strong="G4103" saying|strong="G3056": For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" we be dead with|strong="G4880" him, we shall|strong="G4800" also|strong="G2532" live with|strong="G4800" him:
12 If|strong="G1487" we suffer|strong="G5278", we shall|strong="G4821" also|strong="G2532" reign with|strong="G4821" him: if|strong="G1487" we deny|strong="G0720" him, he also|strong="G2548" will deny|strong="G0720" us|strong="G2248":
13 If|strong="G1487" we believe not|strong="G0569", yet he|strong="G1565" abideth|strong="G3306" faithful|strong="G4103": he can|strong="G1410" not|strong="G3756" deny|strong="G0720" himself|strong="G1438".
14 Of these things|strong="G5023" put|strong="G5279" them in remembrance|strong="G5279", charging|strong="G1263" them before|strong="G1799" the Lord|strong="G2962" that they strive|strong="G3054" not|strong="G3361" about words|strong="G3054" to|strong="G1519" no|strong="G3762" profit|strong="G5539", but to|strong="G1909" the subverting|strong="G2692" of the hearers|strong="G0191".
15 Study|strong="G4704" to shew|strong="G3936" thyself|strong="G4572" approved|strong="G1384" unto God|strong="G2316", a workman|strong="G2040" that needeth not to be ashamed|strong="G0422", rightly dividing|strong="G3718" the word|strong="G3056" of truth|strong="G0225".
16 But|strong="G1161" shun|strong="G4026" profane|strong="G0952" and vain babblings|strong="G2757": for|strong="G1063" they will increase|strong="G4298" unto|strong="G1909" more|strong="G4119" ungodliness|strong="G0763".
17 And|strong="G2532" their|strong="G0846" word|strong="G3056" will|strong="G2192" eat|strong="G3542" as doth|strong="G5613" a canker|strong="G1044": of whom|strong="G3739" is|strong="G2076" Hymenaeus|strong="G5211" and|strong="G2532" Philetus|strong="G5372";
18 Who|strong="G3748" concerning|strong="G4012" the truth|strong="G0225" have erred|strong="G0795", saying|strong="G3004" that|strong="G1096" the resurrection|strong="G0386" is past|strong="G1096" already|strong="G2235"; and|strong="G2532" overthrow|strong="G0396" the faith|strong="G4102" of some|strong="G5100".
19 Nevertheless|strong="G3305" the foundation|strong="G2310" of God|strong="G2316" standeth|strong="G2476" sure|strong="G4731", having|strong="G2192" this|strong="G3778" seal|strong="G4973", The Lord|strong="G2962" knoweth|strong="G1097" them that are|strong="G5607" his|strong="G0846". And|strong="G2532", Let|strong="G0868" every one|strong="G3956" that nameth|strong="G3687" the name|strong="G3686" of Christ|strong="G5547" depart|strong="G0868" from|strong="G0575" iniquity|strong="G0093".
20 But|strong="G1161" in|strong="G1722" a great|strong="G3173" house|strong="G3614" there are|strong="G2076" not|strong="G3756" only|strong="G3440" vessels|strong="G4632" of gold|strong="G5552" and|strong="G2532" of silver|strong="G0693", but|strong="G0235" also|strong="G2532" of wood|strong="G3585" and|strong="G2532" of earth|strong="G3749"; and|strong="G2532" some|strong="G3739" to|strong="G1519" honour|strong="G5092", and|strong="G1161" some|strong="G3739" to|strong="G1519" dishonour|strong="G0819".
21 If|strong="G1437" a man|strong="G5100" therefore|strong="G3767" purge|strong="G1571" himself|strong="G1438" from|strong="G0575" these|strong="G5130", he shall be|strong="G2071" a vessel|strong="G4632" unto|strong="G1519" honour|strong="G5092", sanctified|strong="G0037", and|strong="G2532" meet for|strong="G2173" the master’s|strong="G1203" use|strong="G2173", and prepared|strong="G2090" unto|strong="G1519" every|strong="G3956" good|strong="G0018" work|strong="G2041".
22 Flee|strong="G5343" also|strong="G1161" youthful|strong="G3512" lusts|strong="G1939": but|strong="G1161" follow|strong="G1377" righteousness|strong="G1343", faith|strong="G4102", charity|strong="G0026", peace|strong="G1515", with|strong="G3326" them that call on|strong="G1941" the Lord|strong="G2962" out of|strong="G1537" a pure|strong="G2513" heart|strong="G2588".
23 But|strong="G1161" foolish|strong="G3474" and|strong="G2532" unlearned|strong="G0521" questions|strong="G2214" avoid|strong="G3868", knowing|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" they do gender|strong="G1080" strifes|strong="G3163".
24 And|strong="G1161" the servant|strong="G1401" of the Lord|strong="G2962" must|strong="G1163" not|strong="G3756" strive|strong="G3164"; but|strong="G0235" be|strong="G1511" gentle|strong="G2261" unto|strong="G4314" all|strong="G3956" men, apt to teach|strong="G1317", patient|strong="G0420",
25 In|strong="G1722" meekness|strong="G4236" instructing|strong="G3811" those that oppose themselves|strong="G0475"; if|strong="G3379" God|strong="G2316" peradventure|strong="G3379" will give|strong="G1325" them|strong="G0846" repentance|strong="G3341" to|strong="G1519" the acknowledging|strong="G1922" of the truth|strong="G0225";
26 And|strong="G2532" that they may recover themselves|strong="G0366" out of|strong="G1537" the snare|strong="G3803" of the devil|strong="G1228", who are taken captive|strong="G2221" by|strong="G5259" him|strong="G0846" at|strong="G1519" his|strong="G1565" will|strong="G2307".
