2 Reis 15

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

1 In the twenty|strong="H6242" and seventh|strong="H7651" year|strong="H8141" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" began Azariah|strong="H5838" son|strong="H1121" of Amaziah|strong="H0558" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" to reign|strong="H4427".

2 Sixteen|strong="H8337" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" was he when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and he reigned|strong="H4427" two|strong="H8147" and fifty|strong="H2572" years|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389". And his mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" was Jecholiah|strong="H3203" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389".

3 And he did|strong="H6213" that which was right|strong="H3477" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, according to all that his father|strong="H0001" Amaziah|strong="H0558" had done|strong="H6213";

4 Save that the high places|strong="H1116" were not removed|strong="H5493": the people|strong="H5971" sacrificed|strong="H2076" and burnt incense|strong="H6999" still on the high places|strong="H1116".

5 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* smote|strong="H5060" the king|strong="H4428", so that he was a leper|strong="H6879" unto the day|strong="H3117" of his death|strong="H4194", and dwelt|strong="H3427" in a several|strong="H2669" house|strong="H1004". And Jotham|strong="H3147" the king’s|strong="H4428" son|strong="H1121" was over the house|strong="H1004", judging|strong="H8199" the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776".

6 And the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Azariah|strong="H5838", and all that he did|strong="H6213", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"?

7 So Azariah|strong="H5838" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001"; and they buried|strong="H6912" him with his fathers|strong="H0001" in the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732": and Jotham|strong="H3147" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.

8 In the thirty|strong="H7970" and eighth|strong="H8083" year|strong="H8141" of Azariah|strong="H5838" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" did Zachariah|strong="H2148" the son|strong="H1121" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" reign|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" in Samaria|strong="H8111" six|strong="H8337" months|strong="H2320".

9 And he did|strong="H6213" that which was evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, as his fathers|strong="H0001" had done|strong="H6213": he departed|strong="H5493" not from the sins|strong="H2403" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", who made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398".

10 And Shallum|strong="H7967" the son|strong="H1121" of Jabesh|strong="H3003" conspired|strong="H7194" against him, and smote|strong="H5221" him before|strong="H6905" the people|strong="H5971", and slew|strong="H4191" him, and reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.

11 And the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Zachariah|strong="H2148", behold, they are written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478".

12 This was the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* which he spake|strong="H1696" unto Jehu|strong="H3058", saying|strong="H0559", Thy sons|strong="H1121" shall sit|strong="H3427" on the throne|strong="H3678" of Israel|strong="H3478" unto the fourth|strong="H7243" generation. And so it came to pass.

13 Shallum|strong="H7967" the son|strong="H1121" of Jabesh|strong="H3003" began to reign|strong="H4427" in the nine|strong="H8672" and thirtieth|strong="H7970" year|strong="H8141" of Uzziah|strong="H5818" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"; and he reigned|strong="H4427" a full|strong="H3117" month|strong="H3391" in Samaria|strong="H8111".

14 For Menahem|strong="H4505" the son|strong="H1121" of Gadi|strong="H1424" went up|strong="H5927" from Tirzah|strong="H8656", and came|strong="H0935" to Samaria|strong="H8111", and smote|strong="H5221" Shallum|strong="H7967" the son|strong="H1121" of Jabesh|strong="H3003" in Samaria|strong="H8111", and slew|strong="H4191" him, and reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.

15 And the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Shallum|strong="H7967", and his conspiracy|strong="H7195" which he made|strong="H7194", behold, they are written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478".

16 Then Menahem|strong="H4505" smote|strong="H5221" Tiphsah|strong="H8607", and all that were therein, and the coasts|strong="H1366" thereof from Tirzah|strong="H8656": because they opened|strong="H6605" not to him, therefore he smote|strong="H5221" it; and all the women therein that were with child|strong="H2030" he ripped up|strong="H1234".

17 In the nine|strong="H8672" and thirtieth|strong="H7970" year|strong="H8141" of Azariah|strong="H5838" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" began Menahem|strong="H4505" the son|strong="H1121" of Gadi|strong="H1424" to reign|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478", and reigned ten|strong="H6235" years|strong="H8141" in Samaria|strong="H8111".

18 And he did|strong="H6213" that which was evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: he departed|strong="H5493" not all his days|strong="H3117" from the sins|strong="H2403" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", who made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398".

19 And Pul|strong="H6322" the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804" came|strong="H0935" against the land|strong="H0776": and Menahem|strong="H4505" gave|strong="H5414" Pul|strong="H6322" a thousand|strong="H0505" talents|strong="H3603" of silver|strong="H3701", that his hand|strong="H3027" might be with him to confirm|strong="H2388" the kingdom|strong="H4467" in his hand|strong="H3027".

20 And Menahem|strong="H4505" exacted|strong="H3318" the money|strong="H3701" of Israel|strong="H3478", even of all the mighty men|strong="H1368" of wealth|strong="H2428", of each|strong="H0259" man|strong="H0376" fifty|strong="H2572" shekels|strong="H8255" of silver|strong="H3701", to give|strong="H5414" to the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804". So the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804" turned back|strong="H7725", and stayed|strong="H5975" not there in the land|strong="H0776".

21 And the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Menahem|strong="H4505", and all that he did|strong="H6213", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478"?

22 And Menahem|strong="H4505" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001"; and Pekahiah|strong="H6494" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.

23 In the fiftieth|strong="H2572" year|strong="H8141" of Azariah|strong="H5838" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" Pekahiah|strong="H6494" the son|strong="H1121" of Menahem|strong="H4505" began to reign|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" in Samaria|strong="H8111", and reigned two years|strong="H8141".

24 And he did|strong="H6213" that which was evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: he departed|strong="H5493" not from the sins|strong="H2403" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", who made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398".

25 But Pekah|strong="H6492" the son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425", a captain|strong="H7991" of his, conspired|strong="H7194" against him, and smote|strong="H5221" him in Samaria|strong="H8111", in the palace|strong="H0759" of the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", with Argob|strong="H0709" and Arieh|strong="H0745", and with him fifty|strong="H2572" men|strong="H0376" of the Gileadites|strong="H1121": and he killed|strong="H4191" him, and reigned|strong="H4427" in his room.

26 And the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Pekahiah|strong="H6494", and all that he did|strong="H6213", behold, they are written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478".

27 In the two|strong="H8147" and fiftieth|strong="H2572" year|strong="H8141" of Azariah|strong="H5838" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" Pekah|strong="H6492" the son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425" began to reign|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" in Samaria|strong="H8111", and reigned twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141".

28 And he did|strong="H6213" that which was evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: he departed|strong="H5493" not from the sins|strong="H2403" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", who made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398".

29 In the days|strong="H3117" of Pekah|strong="H6492" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" came|strong="H0935" Tiglath-pileser|strong="H8407" king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804", and took|strong="H3947" Ijon|strong="H5859", and Abel-beth-maachah|strong="H0062", and Janoah|strong="H3239", and Kedesh|strong="H6943", and Hazor|strong="H2674", and Gilead|strong="H1568", and Galilee|strong="H1551", all the land|strong="H0776" of Naphtali|strong="H5321", and carried them captive|strong="H1540" to Assyria|strong="H0804".

30 And Hoshea|strong="H1954" the son|strong="H1121" of Elah|strong="H0425" made|strong="H7194" a conspiracy|strong="H7195" against Pekah|strong="H6492" the son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425", and smote|strong="H5221" him, and slew|strong="H4191" him, and reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead, in the twentieth|strong="H6242" year|strong="H8141" of Jotham|strong="H3147" the son|strong="H1121" of Uzziah|strong="H5818".

31 And the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Pekah|strong="H6492", and all that he did|strong="H6213", behold, they are written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478".

32 In the second|strong="H8147" year|strong="H8141" of Pekah|strong="H6492" the son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" began Jotham|strong="H3147" the son|strong="H1121" of Uzziah|strong="H5818" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" to reign|strong="H4427".

33 Five|strong="H2568" and twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" was he when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and he reigned|strong="H4427" sixteen|strong="H8337" years|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389". And his mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" was Jerusha|strong="H3388", the daughter|strong="H1323" of Zadok|strong="H6659".

34 And he did|strong="H6213" that which was right|strong="H3477" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: he did|strong="H6213" according to all that his father|strong="H0001" Uzziah|strong="H5818" had done|strong="H6213".

35 Howbeit the high places|strong="H1116" were not removed|strong="H5493": the people|strong="H5971" sacrificed|strong="H2076" and burned incense|strong="H6999" still in the high places|strong="H1116". He built|strong="H1129" the higher|strong="H5945" gate|strong="H8179" of the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

36 Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Jotham|strong="H3147", and all that he did|strong="H6213", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"?

37 In those days|strong="H3117" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* began|strong="H2490" to send|strong="H7971" against Judah|strong="H3063" Rezin|strong="H7526" the king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758", and Pekah|strong="H6492" the son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425".

38 And Jotham|strong="H3147" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and was buried|strong="H6912" with his fathers|strong="H0001" in the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001": and Ahaz|strong="H0271" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
