In the seventeenth|strong="H7651" year|strong="H8141" of Pekah|strong="H6492" the son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425" Ahaz|strong="H0271" the son|strong="H1121" of Jotham|strong="H3147" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" began to reign|strong="H4427".
Twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" was Ahaz|strong="H0271" when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and reigned|strong="H4427" sixteen|strong="H8337" years|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and did|strong="H6213" not that which was right|strong="H3477" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* his God|strong="H0430", like David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001".
But he walked|strong="H3212" in the way|strong="H1870" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", yea, and made his son|strong="H1121" to pass through|strong="H5674" the fire|strong="H0784", according to the abominations|strong="H8441" of the heathen|strong="H1471", whom the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* cast out|strong="H3423" from before|strong="H6440" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478".
And he sacrificed|strong="H2076" and burnt incense|strong="H6999" in the high places|strong="H1116", and on the hills|strong="H1389", and under every green|strong="H7488" tree|strong="H6086".
Then Rezin|strong="H7526" king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758" and Pekah|strong="H6492" son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" came up|strong="H5927" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389" to war|strong="H4421": and they besieged|strong="H6696" Ahaz|strong="H0271", but could|strong="H3201" not overcome|strong="H3898" him.
At that time|strong="H6256" Rezin|strong="H7526" king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758" recovered|strong="H7725" Elath|strong="H0359" to Syria|strong="H0758", and drave|strong="H5394" the Jews|strong="H3064" from Elath|strong="H0359": and the Syrians|strong="H0726" came|strong="H0935" to Elath|strong="H0359", and dwelt|strong="H3427" there unto this day|strong="H3117".
So Ahaz|strong="H0271" sent|strong="H7971" messengers|strong="H4397" to Tiglath-pileser|strong="H8407" king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804", saying|strong="H0559", I am thy servant|strong="H5650" and thy son|strong="H1121": come up|strong="H5927", and save|strong="H3467" me out of the hand|strong="H3709" of the king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758", and out of the hand|strong="H3709" of the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", which rise up|strong="H6965" against me.
And Ahaz|strong="H0271" took|strong="H3947" the silver|strong="H3701" and gold|strong="H2091" that was found|strong="H4672" in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and in the treasures|strong="H0214" of the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", and sent|strong="H7971" it for a present|strong="H7810" to the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804".
And the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804" hearkened|strong="H8085" unto him: for the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804" went up|strong="H5927" against Damascus|strong="H1834", and took|strong="H8610" it, and carried the people of it captive|strong="H1540" to Kir|strong="H7024", and slew|strong="H4191" Rezin|strong="H7526".
And king|strong="H4428" Ahaz|strong="H0271" went|strong="H3212" to Damascus|strong="H1834" to meet|strong="H7125" Tiglath-pileser|strong="H8407" king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804", and saw|strong="H7200" an altar|strong="H4196" that was at Damascus|strong="H1834": and king|strong="H4428" Ahaz|strong="H0271" sent|strong="H7971" to Urijah|strong="H0223" the priest|strong="H3548" the fashion|strong="H1823" of the altar|strong="H4196", and the pattern|strong="H8403" of it, according to all the workmanship|strong="H4639" thereof.
And Urijah|strong="H0223" the priest|strong="H3548" built|strong="H1129" an altar|strong="H4196" according to all that king|strong="H4428" Ahaz|strong="H0271" had sent|strong="H7971" from Damascus|strong="H1834": so Urijah|strong="H0223" the priest|strong="H3548" made|strong="H6213" it against king|strong="H4428" Ahaz|strong="H0271" came|strong="H0935" from Damascus|strong="H1834".
And when the king|strong="H4428" was come|strong="H0935" from Damascus|strong="H1834", the king|strong="H4428" saw|strong="H7200" the altar|strong="H4196": and the king|strong="H4428" approached|strong="H7126" to the altar|strong="H4196", and offered|strong="H5927" thereon.
And he burnt|strong="H6999" his burnt offering|strong="H5930" and his meat offering|strong="H4503", and poured|strong="H5258" his drink offering|strong="H5262", and sprinkled|strong="H2236" the blood|strong="H1818" of his peace offerings|strong="H8002", upon the altar|strong="H4196".
And he brought|strong="H7126" also the brasen|strong="H5178" altar|strong="H4196", which was before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, from the forefront|strong="H6440" of the house|strong="H1004", from between the altar|strong="H4196" and the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and put|strong="H5414" it on the north|strong="H6828" side|strong="H3409" of the altar|strong="H4196".
And king|strong="H4428" Ahaz|strong="H0271" commanded|strong="H6680" Urijah|strong="H0223" the priest|strong="H3548", saying|strong="H0559", Upon the great|strong="H1419" altar|strong="H4196" burn|strong="H6999" the morning|strong="H1242" burnt offering|strong="H5930", and the evening|strong="H6153" meat offering|strong="H4503", and the king’s|strong="H4428" burnt sacrifice|strong="H5930", and his meat offering|strong="H4503", with the burnt offering|strong="H5930" of all the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776", and their meat offering|strong="H4503", and their drink offerings|strong="H5262"; and sprinkle|strong="H2236" upon it all the blood|strong="H1818" of the burnt offering|strong="H5930", and all the blood|strong="H1818" of the sacrifice|strong="H2077": and the brasen|strong="H5178" altar|strong="H4196" shall be for me to enquire|strong="H1239" by.
Thus did|strong="H6213" Urijah|strong="H0223" the priest|strong="H3548", according to all that king|strong="H4428" Ahaz|strong="H0271" commanded|strong="H6680".
And king|strong="H4428" Ahaz|strong="H0271" cut off|strong="H7112" the borders|strong="H4526" of the bases|strong="H4350", and removed|strong="H5493" the laver|strong="H3595" from off them; and took down|strong="H3381" the sea|strong="H3220" from off the brasen|strong="H5178" oxen|strong="H1241" that were under it, and put|strong="H5414" it upon a pavement|strong="H4837" of stones|strong="H0068".
And the covert|strong="H4329" for the sabbath|strong="H7676" that they had built|strong="H1129" in the house|strong="H1004", and the king’s|strong="H4428" entry|strong="H3996" without|strong="H2435", turned|strong="H5437" he from the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* for|strong="H6440" the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804".
Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Ahaz|strong="H0271" which he did|strong="H6213", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"?
And Ahaz|strong="H0271" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and was buried|strong="H6912" with his fathers|strong="H0001" in the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732": and Hezekiah|strong="H2396" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
