1 And Rehoboam|strong="H7346" went|strong="H3212" to Shechem|strong="H7927": for to Shechem|strong="H7927" were all Israel|strong="H3478" come|strong="H0935" to make him king|strong="H4427".
1 E foi Roboão a Siquém, porque todo o Israel tinha vindo a Siquém para o fazerem rei.
2 And it came to pass, when Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", who was in Egypt|strong="H4714", whither he had fled|strong="H1272" from the presence|strong="H6440" of Solomon|strong="H8010" the king|strong="H4428", heard|strong="H8085" it, that Jeroboam|strong="H3379" returned|strong="H7725" out of Egypt|strong="H4714".
2 Sucedeu, pois, que, ouvindo-o Jeroboão, filho de Nebate (o qual estava, então, no Egito, para onde fugira da presença do rei Salomão), voltou Jeroboão do Egito.
3 And they sent|strong="H7971" and called|strong="H7121" him. So Jeroboam|strong="H3379" and all Israel|strong="H3478" came|strong="H0935" and spake|strong="H1696" to Rehoboam|strong="H7346", saying|strong="H0559",
3 Porque enviaram a ele e o chamaram; e veio, pois, Jeroboão com todo o Israel; e falaram a Roboão, dizendo:
4 Thy father|strong="H0001" made our yoke|strong="H5923" grievous|strong="H7185": now therefore ease|strong="H7043" thou somewhat the grievous|strong="H7186" servitude|strong="H5656" of thy father|strong="H0001", and his heavy|strong="H3515" yoke|strong="H5923" that he put|strong="H5414" upon us, and we will serve|strong="H5647" thee.
4 Teu pai fez duro o nosso jugo; alivia tu, pois, agora, a dura servidão de teu pai e o pesado jugo que nos tinha imposto, e servir-te-emos.
5 And he said|strong="H0559" unto them, Come again|strong="H7725" unto me after three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117". And the people|strong="H5971" departed|strong="H3212".
5 E ele lhes disse: Daqui a três dias, tornai a mim. Então, o povo se foi.
6 And king|strong="H4428" Rehoboam|strong="H7346" took counsel|strong="H3289" with the old|strong="H2205" men that had stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" Solomon|strong="H8010" his father|strong="H0001" while he yet lived|strong="H2416", saying|strong="H0559", What|strong="H0349" counsel give|strong="H3289" ye me to return|strong="H7725" answer|strong="H1697" to this people|strong="H5971"?
6 E teve Roboão conselho com os anciãos que estiveram perante Salomão, seu pai, enquanto viveu, dizendo: Como aconselhais vós que se responda a este povo?
7 And they spake|strong="H1696" unto him, saying|strong="H0559", If thou be kind|strong="H2896" to this people|strong="H5971", and please|strong="H7521" them, and speak|strong="H1696" good|strong="H2896" words|strong="H1697" to them, they will be thy servants|strong="H5650" for ever|strong="H3117".
7 E eles lhe falaram, dizendo: Se te fizeres benigno e afável com este povo e lhes falares boas palavras, todos os dias serão teus servos.
8 But he forsook|strong="H5800" the counsel|strong="H6098" which the old men|strong="H2205" gave|strong="H3289" him, and took counsel|strong="H3289" with the young men|strong="H3206" that were brought up|strong="H1431" with him, that stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" him.
8 Porém ele deixou o conselho que os anciãos lhe deram; e teve conselho com os jovens que haviam crescido com ele e estavam perante ele.
9 And he said|strong="H0559" unto them, What advice|strong="H3289" give ye that we may return|strong="H7725" answer|strong="H1697" to this people|strong="H5971", which have spoken|strong="H1696" to me, saying|strong="H0559", Ease|strong="H7043" somewhat the yoke|strong="H5923" that thy father|strong="H0001" did put|strong="H5414" upon us?
9 E disse-lhes: Que aconselhais vós que respondamos a este povo, que me falou, dizendo: Alivia- nos o jugo que teu pai nos impôs?
10 And the young men|strong="H3206" that were brought up|strong="H1431" with him spake|strong="H1696" unto him, saying|strong="H0559", Thus shalt thou answer|strong="H0559" the people|strong="H5971" that spake|strong="H1696" unto thee, saying|strong="H0559", Thy father|strong="H0001" made|strong="H3513" our yoke|strong="H5923" heavy|strong="H3513", but make thou it somewhat lighter|strong="H7043" for us; thus shalt thou say|strong="H0559" unto them, My little|strong="H6995" finger shall be thicker|strong="H5666" than my father’s|strong="H0001" loins|strong="H4975".
10 E os jovens que com ele haviam crescido lhe falaram, dizendo: Assim dirás a este povo, que te falou, dizendo: Teu pai agravou o nosso jugo, tu, porém, alivia-nos. Assim, pois, lhe falarás: O meu dedo mínimo é mais grosso do que os lombos de meu pai.
11 For whereas|strong="H6258" my father|strong="H0001" put|strong="H6006" a heavy|strong="H3515" yoke|strong="H5923" upon you, I will put more|strong="H3254" to your yoke|strong="H5923": my father|strong="H0001" chastised|strong="H3256" you with whips|strong="H7752", but I will chastise you with scorpions|strong="H6137".
11 Assim que, se meu pai vos fez carregar de um jugo pesado, eu ainda acrescentarei sobre o vosso jugo; meu pai vos castigou com açoites, porém eu vos castigarei com escorpiões.
12 So Jeroboam|strong="H3379" and all the people|strong="H5971" came|strong="H0935" to Rehoboam|strong="H7346" on the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117", as the king|strong="H4428" bade|strong="H1696", saying|strong="H0559", Come again|strong="H7725" to me on the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117".
12 Veio, pois, Jeroboão e todo o povo a Roboão, no terceiro dia, como o rei tinha ordenado, dizendo: Tornai a mim ao terceiro dia.
13 And the king|strong="H4428" answered|strong="H6030" them roughly|strong="H7186"; and king|strong="H4428" Rehoboam|strong="H7346" forsook|strong="H5800" the counsel|strong="H6098" of the old men|strong="H2205",
13 E o rei lhes respondeu asperamente, porque o rei Roboão deixou o conselho dos anciãos.
14 And answered|strong="H1696" them after the advice|strong="H6098" of the young men|strong="H3206", saying|strong="H0559", My father|strong="H0001" made your yoke|strong="H5923" heavy|strong="H3513", but I will add|strong="H3254" thereto: my father|strong="H0001" chastised|strong="H3256" you with whips|strong="H7752", but I will chastise you with scorpions|strong="H6137".
14 E falou-lhes conforme o conselho dos jovens, dizendo: Meu pai agravou o vosso jugo, porém eu lhes acrescentarei mais; meu pai vos castigou com açoites, porém eu vos castigarei com escorpiões.
15 So the king|strong="H4428" hearkened|strong="H8085" not unto the people|strong="H5971": for the cause|strong="H5252" was of God|strong="H0430", that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* might perform|strong="H6965" his word|strong="H1697", which he spake|strong="H1696" by the hand|strong="H3027" of Ahijah|strong="H0281" the Shilonite|strong="H7888" to Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028".
15 Assim, o rei não deu ouvidos ao povo, porque esta mudança vinha de Deus, para que o Senhor confirmasse a sua palavra, a qual falara pelo ministério de Aías, o silonita, a Jeroboão, filho de Nebate.
16 And when all Israel|strong="H3478" \+w saw|strong="H7200"\+w* that the king|strong="H4428" would not hearken|strong="H8085" unto them, the people|strong="H5971" answered|strong="H7725" the king|strong="H4428", saying|strong="H0559", What portion|strong="H2506" have we in David|strong="H1732"? and we have none inheritance|strong="H5159" in the son|strong="H1121" of Jesse|strong="H3448": every man|strong="H0376" to your tents|strong="H0168", O Israel|strong="H3478": and now, David|strong="H1732", see|strong="H7200" to thine own house|strong="H1004". So all Israel|strong="H3478" went|strong="H3212" to their tents|strong="H0168".
16 Vendo, pois, todo o Israel que o rei lhes não dava ouvidos, então, o povo respondeu ao rei, dizendo: Que parte temos nós com Davi? Já não temos herança no filho de Jessé; Israel, cada um às suas tendas! Olha, agora, pela tua casa, ó Davi. Assim, todo o Israel se foi para as suas tendas.
17 But as for the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" that dwelt|strong="H3427" in the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063", Rehoboam|strong="H7346" reigned|strong="H4427" over them.
17 Porém, quanto aos filhos de Israel que habitavam nas cidades de Judá, sobre eles reinou Roboão.
18 Then king|strong="H4428" Rehoboam|strong="H7346" sent|strong="H7971" Hadoram|strong="H1913" that was over the tribute|strong="H4522"; and the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" stoned|strong="H7275" him with stones|strong="H0068", that he died|strong="H4191". But king|strong="H4428" Rehoboam|strong="H7346" made speed|strong="H0553" to get him up|strong="H5927" to his chariot|strong="H4818", to flee|strong="H5127" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
18 Então, o rei Roboão enviou a Adorão, que tinha o cargo dos tributos; porém os filhos de Israel o apedrejaram com pedras, de que morreu; então, o rei Roboão se apressou a subir para o seu carro e fugiu para Jerusalém.
19 And Israel|strong="H3478" rebelled|strong="H6586" against the house|strong="H1004" of David|strong="H1732" unto this day|strong="H3117".
19 Assim, se revoltaram os israelitas contra a casa de Davi, até ao dia de hoje.
