1 Passado tudo isso, aconteceu o seguinte: Nabot de Jezrael possuía uma vinha nessa cidade, ao lado do palácio de Acab, rei de Samaria.
2 And Ahab|strong="H0256" spake|strong="H1696" unto Naboth|strong="H5022", saying|strong="H0559", Give|strong="H5414" me thy vineyard|strong="H3754", that I may have it for a garden|strong="H1588" of herbs|strong="H3419", because it is near|strong="H7138" unto|strong="H0681" my house|strong="H1004": and I will give|strong="H5414" thee for it a better|strong="H2896" vineyard|strong="H3754" than it; or, if it seem good|strong="H2896" to thee|strong="H5869", I will give|strong="H5414" thee the worth|strong="H4242" of it in money|strong="H3701".
2 Acab disse a Nabot: Cede-me tua vinha, para que eu a transforme numa horta, porque está junto de minha casa. Dar-te-ei em troca uma vinha melhor, ou se o preferires, pagar-te-ei em dinheiro o seu valor.
3 And Naboth|strong="H5022" said|strong="H0559" to Ahab|strong="H0256", The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* forbid|strong="H2486" it me, that I should give|strong="H5414" the inheritance|strong="H5159" of my fathers|strong="H0001" unto thee.
3 Nabot, porém, respondeu a Acab: Deus me livre de ceder-te a herança de meus pais!
4 And Ahab|strong="H0256" came|strong="H0935" into his house|strong="H1004" heavy|strong="H5620" and displeased|strong="H2198" because of the word|strong="H1697" which Naboth|strong="H5022" the Jezreelite|strong="H3158" had spoken|strong="H1696" to him: for he had said|strong="H0559", I will not give|strong="H5414" thee the inheritance|strong="H5159" of my fathers|strong="H0001". And he laid him down|strong="H7901" upon his bed|strong="H4296", and turned away|strong="H5437" his face|strong="H6440", and would eat|strong="H0398" no bread|strong="H3899".
4 Acab voltou para a sua casa sombrio e irritado, por ter Nabot de Jezrael recusado ceder-lhe a herança de seus pais. Estendeu-se na cama com o rosto voltado para a parede, e não quis comer.

5 Jezabel, sua mulher, veio ter com ele e disse-lhe: Por que estás de mau humor e não queres comer?
6 And he said|strong="H1696" unto her, Because I spake|strong="H1696" unto Naboth|strong="H5022" the Jezreelite|strong="H3158", and said|strong="H0559" unto him, Give|strong="H5414" me thy vineyard|strong="H3754" for money|strong="H3701"; or else, if it please|strong="H2655" thee, I will give|strong="H5414" thee another vineyard|strong="H3754" for it: and he answered|strong="H0559", I will not give|strong="H5414" thee my vineyard|strong="H3754".
6 Ele respondeu: Falei a Nabot de Jezrael, propondo-lhe que me vendesse a sua vinha, ou, se o preferisse, que a trocasse comigo por outra melhor; mas ele respondeu-me: Não te cederei a minha vinha.
7 And Jezebel|strong="H0348" his wife|strong="H0802" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Dost thou now govern|strong="H6213" the kingdom|strong="H4410" of Israel|strong="H3478"? arise|strong="H6965", and eat|strong="H0398" bread|strong="H3899", and let thine heart|strong="H3820" be merry|strong="H3190": I will give|strong="H5414" thee the vineyard|strong="H3754" of Naboth|strong="H5022" the Jezreelite|strong="H3158".
7 Jezabel, sua mulher, disse-lhe: Não és tu, porventura, o rei de Israel? Vamos! Come, não te incomodes. Eu te darei a vinha de Nabot de Jezrael.
8 So she wrote|strong="H3789" letters|strong="H5612" in Ahab’s|strong="H0256" name|strong="H8034", and sealed|strong="H2856" them with his seal|strong="H2368", and sent|strong="H7971" the letters|strong="H5612" unto the elders|strong="H2205" and to the nobles|strong="H2715" that were in his city|strong="H5892", dwelling|strong="H3427" with Naboth|strong="H5022".
8 Escreveu ela, então, uma carta em nome do rei, selou-a com o selo real, e mandou-a aos anciãos e aos notáveis da cidade, concidadãos de Nabot.
9 And she wrote|strong="H3789" in the letters|strong="H5612", saying|strong="H0559", Proclaim|strong="H7121" a fast|strong="H6685", and set|strong="H3427" Naboth|strong="H5022" on high|strong="H7218" among the people|strong="H5971":
9 Eis o que dizia na carta: Promulgai um jejum, fazei sentar Nabot num lugar de honra,
10 And set|strong="H3427" two|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0582", sons|strong="H1121" of Belial|strong="H1100", before him, to bear witness|strong="H5749" against him, saying|strong="H0559", Thou didst blaspheme|strong="H1288" God|strong="H0430" and the king|strong="H4428". And then carry him out|strong="H3318", and stone|strong="H5619" him, that he may die|strong="H4191".
10 e mandai vir diante dele dois homens inescrupulosos que o acusem, dizendo: Este amaldiçoou a Deus e ao rei. - Conduzi-o em seguida para fora da cidade e apedrejai-o até que morra!
11 And the men|strong="H0582" of his city|strong="H5892", even the elders|strong="H2205" and the nobles|strong="H2715" who were the inhabitants|strong="H3427" in his city|strong="H5892", did|strong="H6213" as Jezebel|strong="H0348" had sent|strong="H7971" unto them, and as it was written|strong="H3789" in the letters|strong="H5612" which she had sent|strong="H7971" unto them.
11 Os homens da cidade, os anciãos e os notáveis, concidadãos de Nabot, fizeram o que ordenava Jezabel, segundo o conteúdo da carta que lhes tinha mandado.
12 They proclaimed|strong="H7121" a fast|strong="H6685", and set|strong="H3427" Naboth|strong="H5022" on high|strong="H7218" among the people|strong="H5971".
12 Promulgaram um jejum e fizeram Nabot sentar-se num lugar de honra.
13 And there came|strong="H0935" in two|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0582", children|strong="H1121" of Belial|strong="H1100", and sat|strong="H3427" before him: and the men|strong="H0582" of Belial|strong="H1100" witnessed|strong="H5749" against him, even against Naboth|strong="H5022", in the presence of the people|strong="H5971", saying|strong="H0559", Naboth|strong="H5022" did blaspheme|strong="H1288" God|strong="H0430" and the king|strong="H4428". Then they carried him forth|strong="H3318" out|strong="H2351" of the city|strong="H5892", and stoned|strong="H5619" him with stones|strong="H0068", that he died|strong="H4191".
13 Vieram então os dois miseráveis, colocaram-se diante dele e fizeram publicamente a deposição seguinte contra ele: Nabot amaldiçoou a Deus e ao rei. Depois disto, levaram-no para fora da cidade, onde foi apedrejado e morreu.
14 Then they sent|strong="H7971" to Jezebel|strong="H0348", saying|strong="H0559", Naboth|strong="H5022" is stoned|strong="H5619", and is dead|strong="H4191".
14 E mandaram dizer a Jezabel: Nabot foi apedrejado e morto.
15 And it came to pass, when Jezebel|strong="H0348" heard|strong="H8085" that Naboth|strong="H5022" was stoned|strong="H5619", and was dead|strong="H4191", that Jezebel|strong="H0348" said|strong="H0559" to Ahab|strong="H0256", Arise|strong="H6965", take possession|strong="H3423" of the vineyard|strong="H3754" of Naboth|strong="H5022" the Jezreelite|strong="H3158", which he refused|strong="H3985" to give|strong="H5414" thee for money|strong="H3701": for Naboth|strong="H5022" is not alive|strong="H2416", but dead|strong="H4191".
15 Quando ela soube que Nabot fora apedrejado e morto, foi dizer a Acab: Vai e toma posse da vinha que Nabot de Jezrael te recusara vender. Ele já não vive; está morto.
16 And it came to pass, when Ahab|strong="H0256" heard|strong="H8085" that Naboth|strong="H5022" was dead|strong="H4191", that Ahab|strong="H0256" rose up|strong="H6965" to go down|strong="H3381" to the vineyard|strong="H3754" of Naboth|strong="H5022" the Jezreelite|strong="H3158", to take possession|strong="H3423" of it.
16 Acab, tendo ouvido dizer que Nabot morrera, levantou-se e dirigiu-se para a sua vinha, para tomar posse dela.
17 And the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came to Elijah|strong="H0452" the Tishbite|strong="H8664", saying|strong="H0559",
17 Então a palavra do Senhor foi dirigida a Elias, o tesbita:
18 Arise|strong="H6965", go down|strong="H3381" to meet|strong="H7125" Ahab|strong="H0256" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", which is in Samaria|strong="H8111": behold, he is in the vineyard|strong="H3754" of Naboth|strong="H5022", whither he is gone down|strong="H3381" to possess|strong="H3423" it.
18 Vai; desce ao encontro de Acab, rei de Israel, que mora em Samaria, ei-lo que desce a tomar posse da vinha de Nabot.
19 And thou shalt speak|strong="H1696" unto him, saying|strong="H0559", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Hast thou killed|strong="H7523", and also taken possession|strong="H3423"? And thou shalt speak|strong="H1696" unto him, saying|strong="H0559", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, In the place|strong="H4725" where dogs|strong="H3611" licked|strong="H3952" the blood|strong="H1818" of Naboth|strong="H5022" shall dogs|strong="H3611" lick|strong="H3952" thy blood|strong="H1818", even thine.
19 Dir-lhe-ás: Isto diz o Senhor: Mataste, e agora usurpas! - E ajuntarás: Eis o que diz o Senhor: No mesmo lugar em que os cães lamberam o sangue de Nabot, lamberão também o teu.
20 And Ahab|strong="H0256" said|strong="H0559" to Elijah|strong="H0452", Hast thou found|strong="H4672" me, O mine enemy|strong="H0341"? And he answered|strong="H0559", I have found|strong="H4672" thee: because thou hast sold|strong="H4376" thyself to work|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
20 Acab exclamou: Encontraste-me de novo, ó meu inimigo? Sim!, respondeu Elias. Porque te vendeste para fazer o mal aos olhos do Senhor.
21 Behold, I will bring|strong="H0935" evil|strong="H7451" upon thee, and will take away|strong="H1197" thy posterity|strong="H0310", and will cut off|strong="H3772" from Ahab|strong="H0256" him that pisseth|strong="H8366" against the wall|strong="H7023", and him that is shut up|strong="H6113" and left|strong="H5800" in Israel|strong="H3478",
21 Farei cair o mal sobre ti, varrer-te-ei, exterminarei da família de Acab em Israel todo varão, seja escravo ou livre.
22 And will make|strong="H5414" thine house|strong="H1004" like the house|strong="H1004" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", and like the house|strong="H1004" of Baasha|strong="H1201" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahijah|strong="H0281", for the provocation|strong="H3708" wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger|strong="H3707", and made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398".
22 Farei de tua casa o que fiz da de Jeroboão, filho de Nabat, e da de Baasa, filho de Aías, porque me provocaste à ira e arrastaste Israel ao pecado.
23 And of Jezebel|strong="H0348" also spake|strong="H1696" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, saying|strong="H0559", The dogs|strong="H3611" shall eat|strong="H0398" Jezebel|strong="H0348" by the wall|strong="H2426" of Jezreel|strong="H3157".
23 E eis agora o que diz o Senhor contra Jezabel: Os cães devorarão Jezabel na terra de Jezrael.
24 Him that dieth|strong="H4191" of Ahab|strong="H0256" in the city|strong="H5892" the dogs|strong="H3611" shall eat|strong="H0398"; and him that dieth|strong="H4191" in the field|strong="H7704" shall the fowls|strong="H5775" of the air|strong="H8064" eat|strong="H0398".
24 Todo membro da família de Acab que morrer na cidade será devorado pelos cães, e o que morrer no campo será comido pelas aves do céu.
25 But there was none like unto Ahab|strong="H0256", which did sell|strong="H4376" himself to work|strong="H6213" wickedness|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, whom Jezebel|strong="H0348" his wife|strong="H0802" stirred up|strong="H5496".
25 Com efeito, não houve ninguém que praticasse tanto o mal aos olhos do Senhor como Acab, excitado como era por sua mulher Jezabel.
26 And he did very|strong="H3966" abominably|strong="H8581" in following|strong="H3212" idols|strong="H1544", according to all things as did|strong="H6213" the Amorites|strong="H0567", whom the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* cast out|strong="H3423" before|strong="H6440" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478".
26 Levou a abominação ao extremo, seguindo os ídolos dos amorreus, que o Senhor tinha expulsado de diante dos israelitas.
27 And it came to pass, when Ahab|strong="H0256" heard|strong="H8085" those words|strong="H1697", that he rent|strong="H7167" his clothes|strong="H0899", and put|strong="H7760" sackcloth|strong="H8242" upon his flesh|strong="H1320", and fasted|strong="H6684", and lay|strong="H7901" in sackcloth|strong="H8242", and went|strong="H1980" softly|strong="H0328".
27 Ouvindo estas palavras, Acab rasgou suas vestes, cobriu-se com um saco e jejuou; dormia, envolto no saco e andava a passos lentos.
28 And the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came to Elijah|strong="H0452" the Tishbite|strong="H8664", saying|strong="H0559",
28 Então a Palavra do Senhor foi dirigida a Elias, o tesbita, nestes termos:
29 Seest|strong="H7200" thou how Ahab|strong="H0256" humbleth|strong="H3665" himself before|strong="H6440" me? because|strong="H3282" he humbleth|strong="H3665" himself before|strong="H6440" me, I will not bring|strong="H0935" the evil|strong="H7451" in his days|strong="H3117": but in his son’s|strong="H1121" days|strong="H3117" will I bring|strong="H0935" the evil|strong="H7451" upon his house|strong="H1004".
29 Viste como Acab se humilhou diante de mim? Pois que ele assim procedeu, não mandarei o castigo durante a sua vida, mas nos dias de seu filho farei vir a catástrofe sobre a sua casa.
