And they continued|strong="H3427" three|strong="H7969" years|strong="H8141" without war|strong="H4421" between Syria|strong="H0758" and Israel|strong="H3478".
And it came to pass in the third|strong="H7992" year|strong="H8141", that Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" the king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" came down|strong="H3381" to the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478".
And the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" said|strong="H0559" unto his servants|strong="H5650", Know|strong="H3045" ye that Ramoth|strong="H7433" in Gilead|strong="H1568" is ours, and we be still|strong="H2814", and take|strong="H3947" it not out of the hand|strong="H3027" of the king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758"?
And he said|strong="H0559" unto Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092", Wilt thou go|strong="H3212" with me to battle|strong="H4421" to Ramoth-gilead|strong="H7433"? And Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" said|strong="H0559" to the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", I am as thou|strong="H3644" art, my people|strong="H5971" as thy people|strong="H5971", my horses|strong="H5483" as thy horses|strong="H5483".
And Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" said|strong="H0559" unto the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", Enquire|strong="H1875", I pray thee, at the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to day|strong="H3117".
Then the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" gathered|strong="H6908" the prophets|strong="H5030" together|strong="H6908", about four|strong="H0702" hundred|strong="H3967" men|strong="H0376", and said|strong="H0559" unto them, Shall I go|strong="H3212" against Ramoth-gilead|strong="H7433" to battle|strong="H4421", or shall I forbear|strong="H2308"? And they said|strong="H0559", Go up|strong="H5927"; for the Lord|strong="H0136" shall deliver|strong="H5414" it into the hand|strong="H3027" of the king|strong="H4428".
And Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" said|strong="H0559", Is there not here a prophet|strong="H5030" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* besides|strong="H5750", that we might enquire|strong="H1875" of him?
And the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" said|strong="H0559" unto Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092", There is yet one|strong="H0259" man|strong="H0376", Micaiah|strong="H4321" the son|strong="H1121" of Imlah|strong="H3229", by whom we may enquire|strong="H1875" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: but I hate|strong="H8130" him; for he doth not prophesy|strong="H5012" good|strong="H2896" concerning me, but evil|strong="H7451". And Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" said|strong="H0559", Let not the king|strong="H4428" say|strong="H0559" so.
Then the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" called|strong="H7121" an|strong="H0259" officer|strong="H5631", and said|strong="H0559", Hasten|strong="H4116" hither Micaiah|strong="H4321" the son|strong="H1121" of Imlah|strong="H3229".
And the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" and Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" the king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" sat|strong="H3427" each|strong="H0376" on his throne|strong="H3678", having put on|strong="H3847" their robes|strong="H0899", in a void place|strong="H1637" in the entrance|strong="H6607" of the gate|strong="H8179" of Samaria|strong="H8111"; and all the prophets|strong="H5030" prophesied|strong="H5012" before|strong="H6440" them.
And Zedekiah|strong="H6667" the son|strong="H1121" of Chenaanah|strong="H3668" made|strong="H6213" him horns|strong="H7161" of iron|strong="H1270": and he said|strong="H0559", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, With these shalt thou push|strong="H5055" the Syrians|strong="H0758", until thou have consumed|strong="H3615" them.
And all the prophets|strong="H5030" prophesied|strong="H5012" so, saying|strong="H0559", Go up|strong="H5927" to Ramoth-gilead|strong="H7433", and prosper|strong="H6743": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall deliver|strong="H5414" it into the king’s|strong="H4428" hand|strong="H3027".
And the messenger|strong="H4397" that was gone|strong="H1980" to call|strong="H7121" Micaiah|strong="H4321" spake|strong="H1696" unto him, saying|strong="H0559", Behold now, the words|strong="H1697" of the prophets|strong="H5030" declare good|strong="H2896" unto the king|strong="H4428" with one|strong="H0259" mouth|strong="H6310": let thy word|strong="H1697", I pray thee, be like the word|strong="H1697" of one|strong="H0259" of them, and speak|strong="H1696" that which is good|strong="H2896".
And Micaiah|strong="H4321" said|strong="H0559", As the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* liveth|strong="H2416", what the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* saith|strong="H0559" unto me, that will I speak|strong="H1696".
So he came|strong="H0935" to the king|strong="H4428". And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Micaiah|strong="H4321", shall we go|strong="H3212" against Ramoth-gilead|strong="H7433" to battle|strong="H4421", or shall we forbear|strong="H2308"? And he answered|strong="H0559" him, Go|strong="H5927", and prosper|strong="H6743": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall deliver|strong="H5414" it into the hand|strong="H3027" of the king|strong="H4428".
And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559" unto him, How many times|strong="H6471" shall I adjure|strong="H7650" thee that thou tell|strong="H1696" me nothing but that which is true|strong="H0571" in the name|strong="H8034" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*?
And he said|strong="H0559", I saw|strong="H7200" all Israel|strong="H3478" scattered|strong="H6327" upon the hills|strong="H2022", as sheep|strong="H6629" that have not a shepherd|strong="H7462": and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559", These have no master|strong="H0113": let them return|strong="H7725" every man|strong="H0376" to his house|strong="H1004" in peace|strong="H7965".
And the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" said|strong="H0559" unto Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092", Did I not tell|strong="H0559" thee that he would prophesy|strong="H5012" no good|strong="H2896" concerning me, but evil|strong="H7451"?
And he said|strong="H0559", Hear|strong="H8085" thou therefore the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: I saw|strong="H7200" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* sitting|strong="H3427" on his throne|strong="H3678", and all the host|strong="H6635" of heaven|strong="H8064" standing|strong="H5975" by him on his right hand|strong="H3225" and on his left|strong="H8040".
And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559", Who shall persuade|strong="H6601" Ahab|strong="H0256", that he may go up|strong="H5927" and fall|strong="H5307" at Ramoth-gilead|strong="H7433"? And one said|strong="H0559" on this manner|strong="H3541", and another said|strong="H0559" on that manner|strong="H3541".
And there came forth|strong="H3318" a spirit|strong="H7307", and stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and said|strong="H0559", I will persuade|strong="H6601" him.
And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto him, Wherewith? And he said|strong="H0559", I will go forth|strong="H3318", and I will be a lying|strong="H8267" spirit|strong="H7307" in the mouth|strong="H6310" of all his prophets|strong="H5030". And he said|strong="H0559", Thou shalt persuade|strong="H6601" him, and prevail|strong="H3201" also: go forth|strong="H3318", and do|strong="H6213" so.
Now therefore, behold, the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath put|strong="H5414" a lying|strong="H8267" spirit|strong="H7307" in the mouth|strong="H6310" of all these thy prophets|strong="H5030", and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoken|strong="H1696" evil|strong="H7451" concerning thee.
But Zedekiah|strong="H6667" the son|strong="H1121" of Chenaanah|strong="H3668" went near|strong="H5066", and smote|strong="H5221" Micaiah|strong="H4321" on the cheek|strong="H3895", and said|strong="H0559", Which way|strong="H0335" went|strong="H5674" the Spirit|strong="H7307" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* from me to speak|strong="H1696" unto thee?
And Micaiah|strong="H4321" said|strong="H0559", Behold, thou shalt see|strong="H7200" in that day|strong="H3117", when thou shalt go|strong="H0935" into an inner|strong="H2315" chamber|strong="H2315" to hide|strong="H2247" thyself.
And the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" said|strong="H0559", Take|strong="H3947" Micaiah|strong="H4321", and carry him back|strong="H7725" unto Amon|strong="H0526" the governor|strong="H8269" of the city|strong="H5892", and to Joash|strong="H3101" the king’s|strong="H4428" son|strong="H1121";
And say|strong="H0559", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the king|strong="H4428", Put|strong="H7760" this fellow in the prison|strong="H1004", and feed|strong="H0398" him with bread|strong="H3899" of affliction|strong="H3906" and with water|strong="H4325" of affliction|strong="H3906", until I come|strong="H0935" in peace|strong="H7965".
And Micaiah|strong="H4321" said|strong="H0559", If thou return|strong="H7725" at all|strong="H7725" in peace|strong="H7965", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath not spoken|strong="H1696" by me. And he said|strong="H0559", Hearken|strong="H8085", O people|strong="H5971", every one of you.
So the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" and Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" the king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" went up|strong="H5927" to Ramoth-gilead|strong="H7433".
And the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" said|strong="H0559" unto Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092", I will disguise|strong="H2664" myself, and enter|strong="H0935" into the battle|strong="H4421"; but put thou on|strong="H3847" thy robes|strong="H0899". And the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" disguised|strong="H2664" himself, and went|strong="H0935" into the battle|strong="H4421".
But the king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758" commanded|strong="H6680" his thirty|strong="H7970" and two|strong="H8147" captains|strong="H8269" that had rule over his chariots|strong="H7393", saying|strong="H0559", Fight|strong="H3898" neither with small|strong="H6996" nor great|strong="H1419", save only with the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478".
And it came to pass, when the captains|strong="H8269" of the chariots|strong="H7393" saw|strong="H7200" Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092", that they said|strong="H0559", Surely it is the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478". And they turned aside|strong="H5493" to fight|strong="H3898" against him: and Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" cried out|strong="H2199".
And it came to pass, when the captains|strong="H8269" of the chariots|strong="H7393" perceived|strong="H7200" that it was not the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", that they turned back|strong="H7725" from pursuing|strong="H0310" him.
And a certain man|strong="H0376" drew|strong="H4900" a bow|strong="H7198" at a venture|strong="H8537", and smote|strong="H5221" the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" between the joints|strong="H1694" of the harness|strong="H8302": wherefore he said|strong="H0559" unto the driver of his chariot|strong="H7395", Turn|strong="H2015" thine hand|strong="H3027", and carry me out|strong="H3318" of the host|strong="H4264"; for I am wounded|strong="H2470".
And the battle|strong="H4421" increased|strong="H5927" that day|strong="H3117": and the king|strong="H4428" was stayed up|strong="H5975" in his chariot|strong="H4818" against|strong="H5227" the Syrians|strong="H0758", and died|strong="H4191" at even|strong="H6153": and the blood|strong="H1818" ran out|strong="H3332" of the wound|strong="H4347" into the midst|strong="H2436" of the chariot|strong="H7393".
And there went|strong="H5674" a proclamation|strong="H7440" throughout the host|strong="H4264" about the going down|strong="H0935" of the sun|strong="H8121", saying|strong="H0559", Every man|strong="H0376" to his city|strong="H5892", and every man|strong="H0376" to his own country|strong="H0776".
So the king|strong="H4428" died|strong="H4191", and was brought|strong="H0935" to Samaria|strong="H8111"; and they buried|strong="H6912" the king|strong="H4428" in Samaria|strong="H8111".
And one washed|strong="H7857" the chariot|strong="H7393" in the pool|strong="H1295" of Samaria|strong="H8111"; and the dogs|strong="H3611" licked up|strong="H3952" his blood|strong="H1818"; and they washed|strong="H7364" his armour|strong="H2185"; according unto the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* which he spake|strong="H1696".
Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Ahab|strong="H0256", and all that he did|strong="H6213", and the ivory|strong="H8127" house|strong="H1004" which he made|strong="H1129", and all the cities|strong="H5892" that he built|strong="H1129", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478"?
So Ahab|strong="H0256" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001"; and Ahaziah|strong="H0274" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
And Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" the son|strong="H1121" of Asa|strong="H0609" began to reign|strong="H4427" over Judah|strong="H3063" in the fourth|strong="H0702" year|strong="H8141" of Ahab|strong="H0256" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478".
Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" was thirty|strong="H7970" and five|strong="H2568" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" when he began to reign|strong="H4427"; and he reigned|strong="H4427" twenty|strong="H6242" and five|strong="H2568" years|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389". And his mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" was Azubah|strong="H5806" the daughter|strong="H1323" of Shilhi|strong="H7977".
And he walked|strong="H3212" in all the ways|strong="H1870" of Asa|strong="H0609" his father|strong="H0001"; he turned not aside|strong="H5493" from it, doing|strong="H6213" that which was right|strong="H3477" in the eyes|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: nevertheless the high places|strong="H1116" were not taken away|strong="H5493"; for the people|strong="H5971" offered|strong="H2076" and burnt incense|strong="H6999" yet in the high places|strong="H1116".
And Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" made peace|strong="H7999" with the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478".
Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092", and his might|strong="H1369" that he shewed|strong="H6213", and how he warred|strong="H3898", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"?
And the remnant|strong="H3499" of the sodomites|strong="H6945", which remained|strong="H7604" in the days|strong="H3117" of his father|strong="H0001" Asa|strong="H0609", he took|strong="H1197" out of the land|strong="H0776".
There was then no king|strong="H4428" in Edom|strong="H0123": a deputy|strong="H5324" was king|strong="H4428".
Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" made|strong="H6213" ships|strong="H0591" of Tharshish|strong="H8659" to go|strong="H3212" to Ophir|strong="H0211" for gold|strong="H2091": but they went|strong="H1980" not; for the ships|strong="H0591" were broken|strong="H7665" at Ezion-geber|strong="H6100".
Then said|strong="H0559" Ahaziah|strong="H0274" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahab|strong="H0256" unto Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092", Let my servants|strong="H5650" go|strong="H3212" with thy servants|strong="H5650" in the ships|strong="H0591". But Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" would|strong="H0014" not.
And Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and was buried|strong="H6912" with his fathers|strong="H0001" in the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001": and Jehoram|strong="H3088" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
Ahaziah|strong="H0274" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahab|strong="H0256" began to reign|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" in Samaria|strong="H8111" the seventeenth|strong="H7651" year|strong="H8141" of Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", and reigned|strong="H4427" two years|strong="H8141" over Israel|strong="H3478".
And he did|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and walked|strong="H3212" in the way|strong="H1870" of his father|strong="H0001", and in the way|strong="H1870" of his mother|strong="H0517", and in the way|strong="H1870" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", who made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398":
For he served|strong="H5647" Baal|strong="H1168", and worshipped|strong="H7812" him, and provoked to anger|strong="H3707" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", according to all that his father|strong="H0001" had done|strong="H6213".
