2 Assim que Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que estava no Egito fugindo do rei Salomão, soube disso, voltou de lá.
3 That they sent|strong="H7971" and called|strong="H7121" him. And Jeroboam|strong="H3379" and all the congregation|strong="H6951" of Israel|strong="H3478" came|strong="H0935", and spake|strong="H1696" unto Rehoboam|strong="H7346", saying|strong="H0559",
3 E mandaram chamá-lo. Então ele e toda a assembléia de Israel foram ao encontro de Roboão e disseram:
4 Thy father|strong="H0001" made|strong="H7185" our yoke|strong="H5923" grievous|strong="H7185": now therefore make thou the grievous|strong="H7186" service|strong="H5656" of thy father|strong="H0001", and his heavy|strong="H3515" yoke|strong="H5923" which he put|strong="H5414" upon us, lighter|strong="H7043", and we will serve|strong="H5647" thee.
4 "Teu pai colocou sobre nós um jugo pesado, mas agora diminui o trabalho árduo e este jugo pesado, e nós te serviremos".
5 And he said|strong="H0559" unto them, Depart|strong="H3212" yet for three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117", then come again|strong="H7725" to me. And the people|strong="H5971" departed|strong="H3212".
5 Roboão respondeu: "Voltem a mim daqui a três dias". Então o povo foi embora.
6 And king|strong="H4428" Rehoboam|strong="H7346" consulted|strong="H3289" with the old men|strong="H2205", that stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" Solomon|strong="H8010" his father|strong="H0001" while he yet lived|strong="H2416", and said|strong="H0559", How do ye advise|strong="H3289" that I may|strong="H7725" answer|strong="H1697" this people|strong="H5971"?
6 O rei Roboão perguntou às autoridades que haviam servido ao seu pai Salomão durante a vida dele: "Como vocês me aconselham a responder a este povo? "
7 And they spake|strong="H1696" unto him, saying|strong="H0559", If thou wilt be a servant|strong="H5650" unto this people|strong="H5971" this day|strong="H3117", and wilt serve|strong="H5647" them, and answer|strong="H6030" them, and speak|strong="H1696" good|strong="H2896" words|strong="H1697" to them, then they will be thy servants|strong="H5650" for ever|strong="H3117".
7 Eles responderam: "Se hoje fores um servo desse povo e servi-lo, dando-lhe uma resposta favorável, eles sempre serão teus servos".
8 But he forsook|strong="H5800" the counsel|strong="H6098" of the old men|strong="H2205", which they had given|strong="H3289" him, and consulted|strong="H3289" with the young men|strong="H3206" that were grown up|strong="H1431" with him, and which stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" him:
8 Roboão, contudo, rejeitou o conselho que as autoridades de Israel lhe tinham dito e consultou os jovens que haviam crescido com ele e o estavam servindo.
9 And he said|strong="H0559" unto them, What counsel give|strong="H3289" ye that we may|strong="H7725" answer|strong="H1697" this people|strong="H5971", who have spoken|strong="H1696" to me, saying|strong="H0559", Make|strong="H7043" the yoke|strong="H5923" which thy father|strong="H0001" did put|strong="H5414" upon us lighter|strong="H7043"?
9 Perguntou-lhes: "Qual é o conselho de vocês? Como devemos responder a este povo que me diz: ‘Diminui o jugo que teu pai colocou sobre nós’? "
10 And the young men|strong="H3206" that were grown up|strong="H1431" with him spake|strong="H1696" unto him, saying|strong="H0559", Thus shalt thou speak|strong="H0559" unto this people|strong="H5971" that spake|strong="H1696" unto thee, saying|strong="H0559", Thy father|strong="H0001" made|strong="H3513" our yoke|strong="H5923" heavy|strong="H3513", but make thou it lighter|strong="H7043" unto us; thus shalt thou say|strong="H1696" unto them, My little|strong="H6995" finger shall be thicker|strong="H5666" than my father’s|strong="H0001" loins|strong="H4975".
10 Os jovens que haviam crescido com ele responderam: "A este povo que te disse: ‘Teu pai colocou sobre nós um jugo pesado; torna-o mais leve’ — dize: ‘Meu dedo mínimo é mais grosso do que a cintura do meu pai.
11 And now whereas my father|strong="H0001" did lade|strong="H6006" you with a heavy|strong="H3515" yoke|strong="H5923", I will add|strong="H3254" to your yoke|strong="H5923": my father|strong="H0001" hath chastised|strong="H3256" you with whips|strong="H7752", but I will chastise|strong="H3256" you with scorpions|strong="H6137".
11 Pois bem, meu pai lhes impôs um jugo pesado; eu o tornarei ainda mais pesado. Meu pai os castigou com simples chicotes; eu os castigarei com chicotes pontiagudos’ ".
12 So Jeroboam|strong="H3379" and all the people|strong="H5971" came|strong="H0935" to Rehoboam|strong="H7346" the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117", as the king|strong="H4428" had appointed|strong="H1696", saying|strong="H0559", Come to me again|strong="H7725" the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117".
12 Três dias depois, Jeroboão e todo o povo voltaram a Roboão, segundo a orientação dada pelo rei: "Voltem a mim daqui a três dias".
13 And the king|strong="H4428" answered|strong="H6030" the people|strong="H5971" roughly|strong="H7186", and forsook|strong="H5800" the old men’s|strong="H2205" counsel|strong="H6098" that they gave|strong="H3289" him;
13 Mas o rei lhes respondeu asperamente. Rejeitando o conselho das autoridades de Israel,
14 And spake|strong="H1696" to them after the counsel|strong="H6098" of the young men|strong="H3206", saying|strong="H0559", My father|strong="H0001" made|strong="H3513" your yoke|strong="H5923" heavy|strong="H3513", and I will add|strong="H3254" to your yoke|strong="H5923": my father|strong="H0001" also chastised|strong="H3256" you with whips|strong="H7752", but I will chastise|strong="H3256" you with scorpions|strong="H6137".
14 seguiu o conselho dos jovens e disse: "Meu pai lhes tornou pesado o jugo; eu o tornarei ainda mais pesado. Meu pai os castigou com simples chicotes; eu os castigarei com chicotes pontiagudos".
15 Wherefore the king|strong="H4428" hearkened|strong="H8085" not unto the people|strong="H5971"; for the cause|strong="H5438" was from the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that he might perform|strong="H6965" his saying|strong="H1697", which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" by|strong="H3027" Ahijah|strong="H0281" the Shilonite|strong="H7888" unto Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028".
15 E o rei não ouviu o povo, pois esta mudança nos acontecimentos vinha da parte do Senhor, para que se cumprisse a palavra que o Senhor havia falado a Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, por meio do silonita Aías.
16 So|strong="H7725" when all Israel|strong="H3478" saw|strong="H7200" that the king|strong="H4428" hearkened|strong="H8085" not unto them, the people|strong="H5971" answered|strong="H1697" the king|strong="H4428", saying|strong="H0559", What portion|strong="H2506" have we in David|strong="H1732"? neither have we inheritance|strong="H5159" in the son|strong="H1121" of Jesse|strong="H3448": to your tents|strong="H0168", O Israel|strong="H3478": now see|strong="H7200" to thine own house|strong="H1004", David|strong="H1732". So Israel|strong="H3478" departed|strong="H3212" unto their tents|strong="H0168".
16 Quando todo o Israel viu que o rei se recusava a ouvi-los, responderam ao rei: "Que temos em comum com Davi? Que temos em comum com o filho de Jessé? Para as suas tendas, ó Israel! Cuide da sua própria casa, ó Davi! " E assim os israelitas foram para as suas casas.
17 But as for the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" which dwelt|strong="H3427" in the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063", Rehoboam|strong="H7346" reigned|strong="H4427" over them.
17 Quanto, porém, aos israelitas que moravam nas cidades de Judá, Roboão continuou como rei deles.
18 Then king|strong="H4428" Rehoboam|strong="H7346" sent|strong="H7971" Adoram|strong="H0151", who was over the tribute|strong="H4522"; and all Israel|strong="H3478" stoned|strong="H7275" him with stones|strong="H0068", that he died|strong="H4191". Therefore king|strong="H4428" Rehoboam|strong="H7346" made speed|strong="H0553" to get him up|strong="H5927" to his chariot|strong="H4818", to flee|strong="H5127" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
18 O rei Roboão enviou Adonirão, chefe de trabalhos forçados, mas todo o Israel o apedrejou até à morte. O rei, contudo, conseguiu subir em sua carruagem e fugir para Jerusalém.
19 So Israel|strong="H3478" rebelled|strong="H6586" against the house|strong="H1004" of David|strong="H1732" unto this day|strong="H3117".
19 Desta forma Israel se rebelou contra a dinastia de Davi, e assim permanece até hoje.
20 And it came to pass, when all Israel|strong="H3478" heard|strong="H8085" that Jeroboam|strong="H3379" was come again|strong="H7725", that they sent|strong="H7971" and called|strong="H7121" him unto the congregation|strong="H5712", and made him king|strong="H4427" over all Israel|strong="H3478": there was none that followed|strong="H0310" the house|strong="H1004" of David|strong="H1732", but|strong="H2108" the tribe|strong="H7626" of Judah|strong="H3063" only.
20 Quando todos os israelitas souberam que Jeroboão tinha voltado, mandaram chamá-lo para a reunião da comunidade e o fizeram rei sobre todo o Israel. Somente a tribo de Judá permaneceu leal à dinastia de Davi.
21 And when Rehoboam|strong="H7346" was come|strong="H0935" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389", he assembled|strong="H6950" all the house|strong="H1004" of Judah|strong="H3063", with the tribe|strong="H7626" of Benjamin|strong="H1144", an hundred|strong="H3967" and fourscore|strong="H8084" thousand|strong="H0505" chosen men|strong="H0977", which were warriors|strong="H6213", to fight|strong="H3898" against the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478", to bring|strong="H7725" the kingdom|strong="H4410" again|strong="H7725" to Rehoboam|strong="H7346" the son|strong="H1121" of Solomon|strong="H8010".
21 Quando Roboão chegou em Jerusalém, convocou cento e oitenta mil homens de combate, das tribos de Judá e de Benjamim, para guerrearem contra Israel e recuperarem o reino para Roboão, filho de Salomão.
22 But the word|strong="H1697" of God|strong="H0430" came unto Shemaiah|strong="H8098" the man|strong="H0376" of God|strong="H0430", saying|strong="H0559",
22 Entretanto, veio esta palavra de Deus a Semaías, homem de Deus:
23 Speak|strong="H0559" unto Rehoboam|strong="H7346", the son|strong="H1121" of Solomon|strong="H8010", king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", and unto all the house|strong="H1004" of Judah|strong="H3063" and Benjamin|strong="H1144", and to the remnant|strong="H3499" of the people|strong="H5971", saying|strong="H0559",
23 "Diga a Roboão, filho de Salomão, rei de Judá, às tribos de Judá e Benjamim, e ao restante do povo:
24 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Ye shall not go up|strong="H5927", nor fight|strong="H3898" against your brethren|strong="H0251" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478": return|strong="H7725" every man|strong="H0376" to his house|strong="H1004"; for this thing|strong="H1697" is|strong="H1961" from me. They hearkened|strong="H8085" therefore to the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and returned|strong="H7725" to depart|strong="H3212", according to the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
24 ‘Assim diz o Senhor: Não saiam à guerra contra os seus irmãos israelitas. Voltem para casa, todos vocês, pois fui eu que fiz isso’ ". E eles obedeceram à palavra do Senhor e voltaram para as suas casas, conforme o Senhor tinha ordenado.
25 Then Jeroboam|strong="H3379" built|strong="H1129" Shechem|strong="H7927" in mount|strong="H2022" Ephraim|strong="H0669", and dwelt|strong="H3427" therein; and went out|strong="H3318" from thence, and built|strong="H1129" Penuel|strong="H6439".
25 Jeroboão fortificou Siquém, nos montes de Efraim, onde passou a morar. Depois ele saiu e fortificou Peniel.
26 And Jeroboam|strong="H3379" said|strong="H0559" in his heart|strong="H3820", Now shall the kingdom|strong="H4467" return|strong="H7725" to the house|strong="H1004" of David|strong="H1732":
26 Jeroboão pensou: "O reino agora provavelmente voltará para a dinastia de Davi.
27 If this people|strong="H5971" go up|strong="H5927" to do|strong="H6213" sacrifice|strong="H2077" in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* at Jerusalem|strong="H3389", then shall the heart|strong="H3820" of this people|strong="H5971" turn again|strong="H7725" unto their lord|strong="H0113", even unto Rehoboam|strong="H7346" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", and they shall kill|strong="H2026" me, and go again|strong="H7725" to Rehoboam|strong="H7346" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063".
27 Se esse povo subir a Jerusalém para oferecer sacrifícios no templo do Senhor, novamente dedicarão sua lealdade ao senhor deles, Roboão, rei de Judá. Eles vão me matar e voltar para o rei Roboão".
28 Whereupon the king|strong="H4428" took counsel|strong="H3289", and made|strong="H6213" two|strong="H8147" calves|strong="H5695" of gold|strong="H2091", and said|strong="H0559" unto them, It is too much|strong="H7227" for you to go up|strong="H5927" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389": behold thy gods|strong="H0430", O Israel|strong="H3478", which brought thee up|strong="H5927" out of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714".
28 Depois de aconselhar-se, o rei fez dois bezerros de ouro e disse ao povo: "Vocês já subiram muito a Jerusalém. Aqui estão os seus deuses, ó Israel, que tiraram vocês do Egito".
29 And he set|strong="H7760" the one|strong="H0259" in Beth-el|strong="H1008", and the other|strong="H0259" put|strong="H5414" he in Dan|strong="H1835".
29 Mandou por um bezerro em Betel, e o outro em Dã.
30 And this thing|strong="H1697" became a sin|strong="H2403": for the people|strong="H5971" went|strong="H3212" to worship before|strong="H6440" the one|strong="H0259", even unto Dan|strong="H1835".
30 E isso veio a ser um pecado, pois o povo ia até Dã para adorar aquele bezerro.
31 And he made|strong="H6213" an house|strong="H1004" of high places|strong="H1116", and made|strong="H6213" priests|strong="H3548" of the lowest|strong="H7098" of the people|strong="H5971", which were not of the sons|strong="H1121" of Levi|strong="H3878".
31 Jeroboão construiu altares idólatras e designou sacerdotes dentre o povo, apesar de não serem levitas.
32 And Jeroboam|strong="H3379" ordained|strong="H6213" a feast|strong="H2282" in the eighth|strong="H8066" month|strong="H2320", on the fifteenth|strong="H2568" day|strong="H3117" of the month|strong="H2320", like unto the feast|strong="H2282" that is in Judah|strong="H3063", and he offered|strong="H5927" upon the altar|strong="H4196". So did|strong="H6213" he in Beth-el|strong="H1008", sacrificing|strong="H2076" unto the calves|strong="H5695" that he had made|strong="H6213": and he placed|strong="H5975" in Beth-el|strong="H1008" the priests|strong="H3548" of the high places|strong="H1116" which he had made|strong="H6213".
32 Instituiu uma festa no dia quinze do oitavo mês, semelhante à festa realizada em Judá, e ofereceu sacrifícios no altar. Ele fez isso em Betel, onde também sacrificou aos bezerros que havia feito. Também estabeleceu lá sacerdotes nos seus altares idólatras.
33 So he offered|strong="H5927" upon the altar|strong="H4196" which he had made|strong="H6213" in Beth-el|strong="H1008" the fifteenth|strong="H2568" day|strong="H3117" of the eighth|strong="H8066" month|strong="H2320", even in the month|strong="H2320" which he had devised|strong="H0908" of his own heart|strong="H3820"; and ordained|strong="H6213" a feast|strong="H2282" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478": and he offered|strong="H5927" upon the altar|strong="H4196", and burnt incense|strong="H6999".
33 No dia quinze do oitavo mês, data que ele mesmo escolheu, ofereceu sacrifícios no altar que havia construído em Betel. Assim ele instituiu a festa para os israelitas e foi ao altar para queimar incenso.
