Reis 11

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

But king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010" loved|strong="H0157" many|strong="H7227" strange|strong="H5237" women|strong="H0802", together with the daughter|strong="H1323" of Pharaoh|strong="H6547", women of the Moabites|strong="H4125", Ammonites|strong="H5984", Edomites|strong="H0130", Zidonians|strong="H6722", and Hittites|strong="H2850";

Of the nations|strong="H1471" concerning which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", Ye shall not go in|strong="H0935" to them, neither shall they come in|strong="H0935" unto you: for surely|strong="H0403" they will turn away|strong="H5186" your heart|strong="H3824" after|strong="H0310" their gods|strong="H0430": Solomon|strong="H8010" clave|strong="H1692" unto these in love|strong="H0157".

And he had seven|strong="H7651" hundred|strong="H3967" wives|strong="H0802", princesses|strong="H8282", and three|strong="H7969" hundred|strong="H3967" concubines|strong="H6370": and his wives|strong="H0802" turned away|strong="H5186" his heart|strong="H3820".

For it came to pass, when|strong="H6256" Solomon|strong="H8010" was old|strong="H2209", that his wives|strong="H0802" turned away|strong="H5186" his heart|strong="H3824" after|strong="H0310" other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430": and his heart|strong="H3824" was not perfect|strong="H8003" with the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* his God|strong="H0430", as was the heart|strong="H3824" of David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001".

For Solomon|strong="H8010" went|strong="H3212" after|strong="H0310" Ashtoreth|strong="H6253" the goddess|strong="H0430" of the Zidonians|strong="H6722", and after|strong="H0310" Milcom|strong="H4445" the abomination|strong="H8251" of the Ammonites|strong="H5984".

And Solomon|strong="H8010" did|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and went not fully|strong="H4390" after|strong="H0310" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, as did David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001".

Then did Solomon|strong="H8010" build|strong="H1129" an high place|strong="H1116" for Chemosh|strong="H3645", the abomination|strong="H8251" of Moab|strong="H4124", in the hill|strong="H2022" that is before|strong="H6440" Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and for Molech|strong="H4432", the abomination|strong="H8251" of the children|strong="H1121" of Ammon|strong="H5983".

And likewise did|strong="H6213" he for all his strange|strong="H5237" wives|strong="H0802", which burnt incense|strong="H6999" and sacrificed|strong="H2076" unto their gods|strong="H0430".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was angry|strong="H0599" with Solomon|strong="H8010", because his heart|strong="H3824" was turned|strong="H5186" from the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", which had appeared|strong="H7200" unto him twice|strong="H6471",

And had commanded|strong="H6680" him concerning this thing|strong="H1697", that he should not go|strong="H3212" after|strong="H0310" other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430": but he kept|strong="H8104" not that which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680".

Wherefore the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Solomon|strong="H8010", Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept|strong="H8104" my covenant|strong="H1285" and my statutes|strong="H2708", which I have commanded|strong="H6680" thee, I will surely|strong="H7167" rend|strong="H7167" the kingdom|strong="H4467" from thee, and will give|strong="H5414" it to thy servant|strong="H5650".

Notwithstanding in thy days|strong="H3117" I will not do|strong="H6213" it for David|strong="H1732" thy father’s|strong="H0001" sake: but I will rend|strong="H7167" it out of the hand|strong="H3027" of thy son|strong="H1121".

Howbeit|strong="H7535" I will not rend away|strong="H7167" all the kingdom|strong="H4467"; but will give|strong="H5414" one|strong="H0259" tribe|strong="H7626" to thy son|strong="H1121" for David|strong="H1732" my servant’s|strong="H5650" sake, and for Jerusalem’s|strong="H3389" sake which I have chosen|strong="H0977".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* stirred up|strong="H6965" an adversary|strong="H7854" unto Solomon|strong="H8010", Hadad|strong="H1908" the Edomite|strong="H0130": he was of the king’s|strong="H4428" seed|strong="H2233" in Edom|strong="H0123".

For it came to pass, when David|strong="H1732" was in Edom|strong="H0123", and Joab|strong="H3097" the captain|strong="H8269" of the host|strong="H6635" was gone up|strong="H5927" to bury|strong="H6912" the slain|strong="H2491", after he had smitten|strong="H5221" every male|strong="H2145" in Edom|strong="H0123";

(For six|strong="H8337" months|strong="H2320" did Joab|strong="H3097" remain|strong="H3427" there with all Israel|strong="H3478", until he had cut off|strong="H3772" every male|strong="H2145" in Edom|strong="H0123":)

That Hadad|strong="H0111" fled|strong="H1272", he and certain|strong="H0582" Edomites|strong="H0130" of his father’s|strong="H0001" servants|strong="H5650" with him, to go|strong="H0935" into Egypt|strong="H4714"; Hadad|strong="H1908" being yet a little|strong="H6996" child|strong="H5288".

And they arose|strong="H6965" out of Midian|strong="H4080", and came|strong="H0935" to Paran|strong="H6290": and they took|strong="H3947" men|strong="H0582" with them out of Paran|strong="H6290", and they came|strong="H0935" to Egypt|strong="H4714", unto Pharaoh|strong="H6547" king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714"; which gave|strong="H5414" him an house|strong="H1004", and appointed|strong="H0559" him victuals|strong="H3899", and gave|strong="H5414" him land|strong="H0776".

And Hadad|strong="H1908" found|strong="H4672" great|strong="H3966" favour|strong="H2580" in the sight|strong="H5869" of Pharaoh|strong="H6547", so that he gave|strong="H5414" him to wife|strong="H0802" the sister|strong="H0269" of his own wife|strong="H0802", the sister|strong="H0269" of Tahpenes|strong="H8472" the queen|strong="H1377".

And the sister|strong="H0269" of Tahpenes|strong="H8472" bare|strong="H3205" him Genubath|strong="H1592" his son|strong="H1121", whom Tahpenes|strong="H8472" weaned|strong="H1580" in|strong="H8432" Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" house|strong="H1004": and Genubath|strong="H1592" was in Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" household|strong="H1004" among|strong="H8432" the sons|strong="H1121" of Pharaoh|strong="H6547".

And when Hadad|strong="H1908" heard|strong="H8085" in Egypt|strong="H4714" that David|strong="H1732" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and that Joab|strong="H3097" the captain|strong="H8269" of the host|strong="H6635" was dead|strong="H4191", Hadad|strong="H1908" said|strong="H0559" to Pharaoh|strong="H6547", Let me depart|strong="H7971", that I may go|strong="H3212" to mine own country|strong="H0776".

Then Pharaoh|strong="H6547" said|strong="H0559" unto him, But what hast thou lacked|strong="H2638" with me, that, behold, thou seekest|strong="H1245" to go|strong="H3212" to thine own country|strong="H0776"? And he answered|strong="H0559", Nothing: howbeit let me go|strong="H7971" in any wise|strong="H7971".

And God|strong="H0430" stirred him up|strong="H6965" another adversary|strong="H7854", Rezon|strong="H7331" the son|strong="H1121" of Eliadah|strong="H0450", which fled|strong="H1272" from his lord|strong="H0113" Hadadezer|strong="H1909" king|strong="H4428" of Zobah|strong="H6678":

And he gathered|strong="H6908" men|strong="H0582" unto him, and became captain|strong="H8269" over a band|strong="H1416", when David|strong="H1732" slew|strong="H2026" them of Zobah: and they went|strong="H3212" to Damascus|strong="H1834", and dwelt|strong="H3427" therein, and reigned|strong="H4427" in Damascus|strong="H1834".

And he was an adversary|strong="H7854" to Israel|strong="H3478" all the days|strong="H3117" of Solomon|strong="H8010", beside the mischief|strong="H7451" that Hadad|strong="H1908" did: and he abhorred|strong="H6973" Israel|strong="H3478", and reigned|strong="H4427" over Syria|strong="H0758".

And Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", an Ephrathite|strong="H0673" of Zereda|strong="H6868", Solomon’s|strong="H8010" servant|strong="H5650", whose mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" was Zeruah|strong="H6871", a widow|strong="H0490" woman|strong="H0802", even he lifted up|strong="H7311" his hand|strong="H3027" against the king|strong="H4428".

And this was the cause|strong="H1697" that he lifted up|strong="H7311" his hand|strong="H3027" against the king|strong="H4428": Solomon|strong="H8010" built|strong="H1129" Millo|strong="H4407", and repaired|strong="H5462" the breaches|strong="H6556" of the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001".

And the man|strong="H0376" Jeroboam|strong="H3379" was a mighty man|strong="H1368" of valour|strong="H2428": and Solomon|strong="H8010" seeing|strong="H7200" the young man|strong="H5288" that he was industrious|strong="H6213", he made him ruler|strong="H6485" over all the charge|strong="H5447" of the house|strong="H1004" of Joseph|strong="H3130".

And it came to pass at that time|strong="H6256" when Jeroboam|strong="H3379" went out|strong="H3318" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", that the prophet|strong="H5030" Ahijah|strong="H0281" the Shilonite|strong="H7888" found|strong="H4672" him in the way|strong="H1870"; and he had clad|strong="H3680" himself with a new|strong="H2319" garment|strong="H8008"; and they two|strong="H8147" were alone in the field|strong="H7704":

And Ahijah|strong="H0281" caught|strong="H8610" the new|strong="H2319" garment|strong="H8008" that was on him, and rent|strong="H7167" it in twelve|strong="H8147" pieces|strong="H7168":

And he said|strong="H0559" to Jeroboam|strong="H3379", Take|strong="H3947" thee ten|strong="H6235" pieces|strong="H7168": for thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", Behold, I will rend|strong="H7167" the kingdom|strong="H4467" out of the hand|strong="H3027" of Solomon|strong="H8010", and will give|strong="H5414" ten|strong="H6235" tribes|strong="H7626" to thee:

(But he shall have one|strong="H0259" tribe|strong="H7626" for my servant|strong="H5650" David’s|strong="H1732" sake, and for Jerusalem’s|strong="H3389" sake, the city|strong="H5892" which I have chosen|strong="H0977" out of all the tribes|strong="H7626" of Israel|strong="H3478":)

Because that they have forsaken|strong="H5800" me, and have worshipped|strong="H7812" Ashtoreth|strong="H6253" the goddess|strong="H0430" of the Zidonians|strong="H6722", Chemosh|strong="H3645" the god|strong="H0430" of the Moabites|strong="H4124", and Milcom|strong="H4445" the god|strong="H0430" of the children|strong="H1121" of Ammon|strong="H5983", and have not walked|strong="H1980" in my ways|strong="H1870", to do|strong="H6213" that which is right|strong="H3477" in mine eyes|strong="H5869", and to keep my statutes|strong="H2708" and my judgments|strong="H4941", as did David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001".

Howbeit I will not take|strong="H3947" the whole kingdom|strong="H4467" out of his hand|strong="H3027": but I will make|strong="H7896" him prince|strong="H5387" all the days|strong="H3117" of his life|strong="H2416" for David|strong="H1732" my servant’s|strong="H5650" sake, whom I chose|strong="H0977", because he kept|strong="H8104" my commandments|strong="H4687" and my statutes|strong="H2708":

But I will take|strong="H3947" the kingdom|strong="H4410" out of his son’s|strong="H1121" hand|strong="H3027", and will give|strong="H5414" it unto thee, even ten|strong="H6235" tribes|strong="H7626".

And unto his son|strong="H1121" will I give|strong="H5414" one|strong="H0259" tribe|strong="H7626", that David|strong="H1732" my servant|strong="H5650" may have a light|strong="H5216" alway|strong="H3117" before|strong="H6440" me in Jerusalem|strong="H3389", the city|strong="H5892" which I have chosen|strong="H0977" me to put|strong="H7760" my name|strong="H8034" there.

And I will take|strong="H3947" thee, and thou shalt reign|strong="H4427" according to all that thy soul|strong="H5315" desireth|strong="H0183", and shalt be king|strong="H4428" over Israel|strong="H3478".

And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken|strong="H8085" unto all that I command|strong="H6680" thee, and wilt walk|strong="H1980" in my ways|strong="H1870", and do|strong="H6213" that is right|strong="H3477" in my sight|strong="H5869", to keep|strong="H8104" my statutes|strong="H2708" and my commandments|strong="H4687", as David|strong="H1732" my servant|strong="H5650" did|strong="H6213"; that I will be with thee, and build|strong="H1129" thee a sure|strong="H0539" house|strong="H1004", as I built|strong="H1129" for David|strong="H1732", and will give|strong="H5414" Israel|strong="H3478" unto thee.

And I will for this afflict|strong="H6031" the seed|strong="H2233" of David|strong="H1732", but not for ever|strong="H3117".

Solomon|strong="H8010" sought|strong="H1245" therefore to kill|strong="H4191" Jeroboam|strong="H3379". And Jeroboam|strong="H3379" arose|strong="H6965", and fled|strong="H1272" into Egypt|strong="H4714", unto Shishak|strong="H7895" king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714", and was in Egypt|strong="H4714" until the death|strong="H4194" of Solomon|strong="H8010".

And the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Solomon|strong="H8010", and all that he did|strong="H6213", and his wisdom|strong="H2451", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Solomon|strong="H8010"?

And the time|strong="H3117" that Solomon|strong="H8010" reigned|strong="H4427" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389" over all Israel|strong="H3478" was forty|strong="H0705" years|strong="H8141".

And Solomon|strong="H8010" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and was buried|strong="H6912" in the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001": and Rehoboam|strong="H7346" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
